I like the chrome exhaust tip, I have heard that it is difficult to find an aftermarket exhaust tip for the Ranger because of the tailpipe size. not sure if that is true or not. I looked at your spec sheet and assume the tip is part of the Chrome appearance package? I have the 2.7l and would really like to finish off the tailpipe with something like yours.😊
But I would have guessed you'd go for the 4 banger... You are practical - just like me! I got to say you look really happy, like a kid with a new toy! Enjoy and looking forward to videos.
Have you ever towed a travel trailer into a 30 mph headwind? Even my 365 hp/420 ft-lbs 3.5L Ecoboost had to work pretty hard in those conditions. If you intend to tow with the Ranger then the 2.7 is def a step up.
Happy Holidays !! Great video. My friend from work just bought the same truck but in the lighter blue color. I love the color that you guys got 👍👍. I think the new Ranger trucks are great and that’s coming from a Tacoma guy. You really get a lot of bang for your buck with this truck. Congrats 🎉 and I am looking forward to a new years worth of awesome content.
Nice truck Tim, this is on my shopping list. Love that paint color & the “Ranger Rita” name is fitting. God bless your wife for playing along with the PTP/SUV truck addicted audience!
Good Evening Tim! Congratulations on Heather's new ride! So nice to see a Ranger with some color and shine. That filming location at the Scotts Bluff monument sign is worthy of a truck commercial. Forgive me ahead of time for the ownership questions I'll eventually ask. Have a Happy New Year! Kindly, Graham.
This is a nice truck, the color works well on camera. The ground clearance looks good for the winter. The power rear window is a nice touch. Congratulations to both.
You definitely married up, Tim! (Though, didn’t we all?) Congrats on the new truck. Looking forward to the mpg when it’s broken in. TFL really liked theirs.
We have the '23 Timberline Explorer with the 2.3 EB. Plenty of power. Our mileage got better around 4500 mile on the odometer. The dealer told us to run premium the first few tanks of fuel? But he also said mileage would improve between 4-5k miles and it did. Very pleased with it at 35k miles so far
Nice truck, love the Fseries interior door handles, love the whole look, especially the much improved interior. Great payload and love they did both AC and DC plugs in the bed.
I purchased a 2024 fully loaded XLT FX4 with tow package, 2.3 . I couldn't be happier. I did put a leveling kit on mine and put a set of 275 BF Goodrich KO3s on it. Just an FYI and this comes straight from Fords website, if you have access to 93 octane fuel on 93 the engine makes just over 300hp and the torque is increased as well.
Been waiting to watch this video. Great truck. I look forward to future videos of how it does. I don't care for the tall screen but I'm interested to see how it works out.
If I was looking for midsize the Ranger is the one I’d get. And for the 2.3, we just got a ‘25 Explorer and I really wanted the 6cyl, but everyone was talking me out of that saying the 2.3 is plenty and the 6 is not worth the money so I got the 2.3. Well we have 2500 mile on the Explorer now and I can say that 2.3 is plenty enough power and we will get the better fuel economy. Can’t wait to see more updates on the Ranger.
Congrats on your new ride, my next one will be in carbonized grey with locker or fx4, high pkg, trailer pkg, side step, spray bed liner and 2.3 (most likely)
You make the right decision buying the new ranger. I had the previous generation lariat and compared to the new generation. The new generation of lariat is much better and it has more power than before with the same motor.
I love that '62 Chevy truck of your's, it reminds me of the one that my friend's mom used to own back in the early 1970's when I was a teenager, with a 6 cylinder engine and a manual transmission.
I’ve spoken to so many people on carbon buildup. It’s either a big deal or nothing to worry about. Just depends on how the internet perceives the issue.
@@Pickuptrucktalk It's a real issue on direct injected gas engines from every manufacturer. Once the carbon build up effects the valves sealing they will require manual cleaning with a walnut blast. BMW recommends this service every 30,000 miles for example. Ford's method of dealing with it is to add port injection along with direct injection. At idle and low power driving it will use the intake injection which washes the intake valves with fuel in the air mix. On higher power acceleration it switches over to the high pressure direct cylinder injection. The Ford 2.3L does not have the dual injection to avoid this service. The 2.7 does. The Ford 5.0 Coyote uses dual injection for this reason also.
@@PapaPugs I've looked into this quite a bit over the years and let's just say opinions vary. BTW - There are no walnut blasting services offered around me or in the Cheyenne area. I haven't seen anything in Denver either. If it was a widespread issue, I'd think there would be a lot more shops promoting a walnut blast service IMO.
@@Pickuptrucktalk I'm sure they are around. All the Euro sports car guys need it regularly. I'm certain Ford didn't start installing dual injection for no reason.
Congrats on new your new truck I know that feeling. I just bought a new 2024 Tacoma TRD Hybrid. The way that power comes on is stunning so smooth. Love mine to. Cheers
4 cyl/300 hp is plenty on a midsize. My 23 Colorado Trail Boss doesn’t even feel the boat behind it. You need more than that, you should probably have a half ton. Congrats on the truck.
Congratulations! That is a really nice truck and package, and color! I dig it! I think Ford has done a better job than the competitors, only wish they offered a NA powerplant (If I was Ford, I would have put the 3.3L V6 option) other than that I think this would be a great choice for most midsize truck drivers, to work and play.
Living and working in the manufacturing industry, for the life of me, I don't see what the fear issue is with some about turbos..... It's like some people think that an ICE is a swiss watch mechanism with no heat, friction or stress. smh
The 2.3L and 2.7L Ecoboosts are extremely well sorted engines at this point and are both pretty damn efficient. I dont think there would have been any benefit to the 3.3L
Fantastic. Nice color, the wife seems happy and a nice new vehicle for the channel. I always liked those, test drove one about 3 years ago at the dealer but could not get a deal together. The 2.3 is a nice motor agree.
Lots of nices here I just noticed. Anyways the 2.7 in this chassis would be tight for servicing. I think I would rather the 2.3 to high mile to be honest.
Congratulations! Tim enlighten me, why is there a STOP SALE on the XLT model? When I got mine 12/15/2024, I was also told there was a stop sale but it was not explained why. Then they leased me a XLT with the FX4 package but with the 2.7 liter. I’m also getting a bunch of accessories for our truck. I will be watching !! 👍
Good choice. I'm a Ford guy but have a '23 Titan Pro 4X right now, which is great, to tow our TT, but If I downsized I'd go for the Ranger. Have rented Tacomas, Canyons, Frontiers, and Rangers. They're all good trucks but I liked the Ranger best. The 2.3 is a peppy engine. It reminds me of the 2.7 in the F-150. If you don't tow anything big they are both great.
very cool - really looking like the best option with GM, Toyota and Nissan having all their issues recently and it's a really good looking rig. Congrats.
Congrats Heather on the new truck! 🎉🎆 That is a beautiful color and the trim level is posh! It sounds like the perfect truck for your needs. The gas mileage is better than on my smaller 2011 and you have way more horsepower. I'm jealous of the payload and tow ratings too. If I have it figured out right. You should be able to tow Swede safely and in spec. (That would be an interesting test.) Also it would be great to see how well you can load up the bed. Ikea run maybe? (For scientific purposes obviously.) Looking forward to future updates and the build you put on it. Enjoy the truck!
I've always wondered how you got through life. Then I watch this video and am introduced to your wife, and now the mystery is solved. Look forward to see how this new Ranger does.
Congratulations Mrs. Pickup Truck & SUV. Great color. I think it will get some views since there isn’t really any long term testers out there for the normal Ranger. I know there have been Raptor videos but who really buys those? Lol
I had a 2020 Explorer with the 2.3. It had plenty of power and got very good fuel mileage. I would experiment with different grades and brands of gas. Eventhough not a top tier brand, mine liked BP.
Unfortunately, unlike the 2.3 in the new Explorer, the 2.3 in the ranger is direct injection only, not both port and direct. That alone would force me to the 2.7 option. I plan to keep my vehicles long term, and long term, DI only intakes carbon up.
Nice Ranger! Would like to hear the 2, 4, & 6 month ownership updates. Do you like having to select whether or not you are in 4WD?? I'm not a fan of having to fiddle with that for a commuter truck. Cheers!
Having had the 2.7 before in the F-150, and driven my brother's Ranger Lariat 2.3, there is no way I would not get the 2.7 myself. I also HATE oil changes on that 2.3 as the damn oil filter is a huge pain to get to.
Here is the website link for the price sheet and pictures: pickuptrucktalk.com/2024/12/we-bought-a-2024-ford-ranger-lariat-price-features-specs/

@ you could try your local Ford dealer. I bet those tips are in their accessory catalog.
In November I bought a 2024 Ranger with XLT-high, FX4, basic towing, and the 2.7 V6. After just 1200 miles I am very happy with my purchase!!
Thank you for choosing our dealership to do business with! 🎉 Enjoy your new truck, guys.
I just bought one too. I absolutely love this truck and Yes I’m sooooo impressed with the 2.3liter eco boost. Fantastic engine.
Totally agree. Very impressive.
Congrats on the new truck! Gonna have to make lots of ranger content now!
But I would have guessed you'd go for the 4 banger... You are practical - just like me! I got to say you look really happy, like a kid with a new toy! Enjoy and looking forward to videos.
270hp 310 tq plenty of power

I just got one last week. Lariat FX4 2.3 in Cactus Gray. Love it!!
Nice truck Tim, this is on my shopping list. Love that paint color & the “Ranger Rita” name is fitting. God bless your wife for playing along with the PTP/SUV truck addicted audience!
I love that Lariat. Gorgeous blue, and I love the chrome bits. Bravo.
Congrats. Nice truck. Love the color
Congrats on the new truck!

Good man! Nice truck too! Merry Christmas, enjoy the new truck 😉🤙🏼🎄
Nice Christmas present. 👍
Can't wait to watch up and coming videos thinking about getting one after my Silverado lease is up.
I guess I need to win the lottery to buy a new truck enjoy your new Ranger.
No just get a better job or get one if you don't have one.
I bought a 2021 Ranger Lariat 2.3l and i love it . been a great truck.
This is a nice truck, the color works well on camera. The ground clearance looks good for the winter. The power rear window is a nice touch. Congratulations to both.
If you can call that a window
Congratulations. Been thinking of the ranger myself
Nice truck! Congratulations Heather, you made a good choice. Love the colour…
You definitely married up, Tim! (Though, didn’t we all?)
Congrats on the new truck. Looking forward to the mpg when it’s broken in. TFL really liked theirs.
Congratulations Tim! Nice truck! I am hoping Ford offers a 6 foot bed and 60 40 seats in the future.

Good luck with your new ride. Be nice to your truck. Make sure you change the oil a lot earlier then Ford tells you.
Great truck. In my opinion the Ranger is the best mid size. Also the 2.3 is a great engine.
Congratulations on the new ranger. Great payload on the truck. I look forward to how it does on a long term test for you.
Nice truck, love the Fseries interior door handles, love the whole look, especially the much improved interior. Great payload and love they did both AC and DC plugs in the bed.

Payload number of 1576 lbs is impressive for sure, I've seen some F-150's with payload capacities as low as the 1300 lb range
My Powerboost has a payload of 1330 but I still tow our 7600 gross camper fine. Actually it squats less than my 18 that had 1650 for payload
Great specs on this truck. Looking forward to the videos.
Congrats on the new truck! Glad to see the Ranger has won you guys over. Way better than any Tacoma
I like the changes they have done with the Tacoma. Just don’t love the price for what you get.
Ranger looking fine! 2.3 is plenty of power for towing. Very torque when off roading but i got used it. Really love my ranger!
Congratulations to you both. Looking forward to more videos.
Congrats on your new ride, my next one will be in carbonized grey with locker or fx4, high pkg, trailer pkg, side step, spray bed liner and 2.3 (most likely)
The car looks great
I just picked up the 2024 ranger raptor. I love it so far.
Love the ranger raptor...
You make the right decision buying the new ranger. I had the previous generation lariat and compared to the new generation. The new generation of lariat is much better and it has more power than before with the same motor.
Love the new Ranger! Plenty of options for anyone.
Make sure you get an oil catch can. Very easy to install. It helps reduce carbon buildup on the intake. I have one and love it.
Now Tim and I finally agree. This is the mid size truck to buy.
Looks great guys except for all that chrome. Congratulations and can’t wait for the future videos.
I love that '62 Chevy truck of your's, it reminds me of the one that my friend's mom used to own back in the early 1970's when I was a teenager, with a 6 cylinder engine and a manual transmission.
Cool Truck, I'm glad for you two. Look forward to upcoming videos.
Incredible truck 👏
Have had the same truck since May--- LOVE it- for all the same reasons. Took my running boards off. Free to anybody who wants them.
Good choice. I bought an XLT in November after exploring Gladiator and Frontier.
Congrats on your new truck. Nice color!
IMO the 2.7L is worth the extra cost. Not for performance, but to get the dual injection to keep the valves clean from carbon.
Agree, especially if you're going to tow anything.

During the holidays stuck in traffic. That sketch pad came in handy playing tic tac toe
My wife just burst out laughing at this comment. Thank you sir! You win the internet today!
I saw a Garff vehicle in Charleston WV the other day, reminded me of all these western RUclips channels.
Outstanding!!!
I have the 2.3 in my Bronco it has plenty of power for what I need!
4 cyl/300 hp is plenty on a midsize. My 23 Colorado Trail Boss doesn’t even feel the boat behind it. You need more than that, you should probably have a half ton. Congrats on the truck.
good luck GM products are absolute garbage
Great buy! 😊

Congrats Tim that’s a nice truck
Perfect family vehicle.
Thanks.
Wow I just bought a 2024 ranger same color but I got the 2.7 v6 and the 4x4 off road
Congratulations. Those passing semi trucks were a bit close, no?
A bit. That spot is a pull off spot so we were safer than it looked.
Congratulations! Tim enlighten me, why is there a STOP SALE on the XLT model? When I got mine 12/15/2024, I was also told there was a stop sale but it was not explained why. Congrats for your wife to her new truck. Allzeit gute Fahrt (always a good drive) as we say in german. I like the color.
Thanks for watching from Germany!
I’m not a Ford guy. But I do like it. Lariat is the trim I’d get…I would have to go with the v6 though.
Pondered getting one myself instead of my current SuperCab f150.
We will be getting the 2.3 Litre Hybrid early next year in Australia, it will go like a rocket.
I think you're right! My F150 hybrid is a rocket ship!
Can't wait for that version to be offered here in the states!
very cool - really looking like the best option with GM, Toyota and Nissan having all their issues recently and it's a really good looking rig. Congrats.
I just missed you. I was in Cheyenne the weekend before Christmas visiting family.
Ordered a 2025 Marsh Grey Lariat 2.7L
Congratulations 🎊

Nice truck! Beautiful area where you're shooting the video.
Now get the Performance Upgrade reflash. 💥💥
I like the front end.
Power is fine.... should be a good truck.
I've always wondered how you got through life. Then I watch this video and am introduced to your wife, and now the mystery is solved.
Look forward to see how this new Ranger does.
Comment of the year! 😆
2.3 in the past model was totally fine. 4 poppers are just good now. Not as fun as my RR but whatever.
Ford has the most recalls in the business
That is not true anymore
Congratulations Mrs. Pickup Truck & SUV. Great color. I think it will get some views since there isn’t really any long term testers out there for the normal Ranger. I know there have been Raptor videos but who really buys those? Lol

What’s the weight of the truck? Want to make sure tow to weight ratio is good
I need to take it to the scale and weigh it.
Awesome trucks congratulations
Nice Ranger! Would like to hear the 2, 4, & 6 month ownership updates. Do you like having to select whether or not you are in 4WD?? I'm not a fan of having to fiddle with that for a commuter truck. Cheers!
Why didn't you get a 2024 gmc canyon at4. 310hp 430tq 2.7 turbo.
Easy. It doesn’t perform that well for views.
