They did fight often times but dean ALWAYS won. Dean can destroy people in close combat that punched sam to a pulp before. He is stronger and a better fighter.
@Davidscomix I tend not to count fights where one of the brothers is possessed or in a state like possession. I also feel if Sam fought Dean when he had no soul sam would have won. It seems to me the mentality of the brothers is a big reason why Dean is the Victor the vast majority of the time.
That really shows what am AH Dean can be. I know it's the trickster's doing and both are annoyed with each other, but it's true, Sam does put up with a lot of Dean's assholerly.
Ngl, don't really care about the supernatural stuff going on there, especially in the later seasons... The relationship tho! It's either written or co-written by a sibling! Very well written, very well played too.
