Great series name, and excited for part 2. I'm curious if there will be any citations to research/books about how colors and other design affects presentation that are worth reading.
I am not yet that far in my research. As also noted in the video, I start from very far... when it comes to understanding colors. I will continue my reading on colors and will be sure to post a video if I find some literature worth reading.
There is a powerful color picker in Firefox in tools>browser tools. this is zooming and pixelating the zoom to choose a color very precisely. Power tools is interesting. I did a little plugin in python in Blender 3D, but the way it accepts colors from outside is weird [0,0,0,1] for RGB and only RGB...
@@VisualPKM that's because the usual notation now is rgba(0,0,0,1) and if use past you can't use an external tool and just do the past. you have to convert it to an array. and it should accept other formats like hsla(0,0%,0%,1); #000F which is not the case... devs don't care about those things...
You will need to raise the feature request for color gradients with the excalidraw product team here: github.com/excalidraw/excalidraw/issues This is not something I would want to develop only for the Obsidian plugin. In the Obsidian plugin there is a Script in the Script Library that you might be able to use for this purpose. I'll see if I can do a short video about creating color gradients and post it in the next couple of days... until then you can play with this script: github.com/zsviczian/obsidian-excalidraw-plugin/blob/master/ea-scripts/Repeat%20Elements.md
Thank you for your efforts with this plug in. Really useful. I am using the stroke colour on a dark theme. When I choose yellow, it gives me a darker shade of yellow. Why not just allow the user to choose a colour the user likes? I have dynamic styling turned off, minimal theme turned off, but still I can't get the stroke colour to be the colour chosen in the colour picker. Painful!!!
I don't use Excalidraw dark mode because of the colors. This is how the Excalidraw package is out of the box... Instead I created Dynamic Styling and the palette loader. With palette loader you can create your own color palette and dynamic styling will match the Excalidraw toolbox and text to match the selected background color - so that the white menu does not hurt your eyes when your background is dark. I was getting fed up with struggling to draw with a mouse in Xara so I've this minute ordered a graphics pad (without a screen) to have on my lap while I doodle. Looking up at a large screen is better on the neck than looking down at a device anyway.

As always, a coherent and clear presentation enhancing an already amazing Obsidian plugin. (Love the accent, too.)
Is there a way I can use the pen as a highlighter to high light some areas?
Yes. check out these two for a complete understanding: ruclips.net/video/OjNhjaH2KjI/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/o2BD73hbUWk/видео.html
Fantastic thank you really interesting and looking forward to the next video.
Thank you. Outstanding, and love your colorful background.
Is there a way to add different language fonts into excalidraw so the text can look hand written? Korean for example : )

Very nicely presented, as always. 👍
Great application, I love it!
You are a hero!

Why do you find the 0,0,0,1 format weird? isn't the 1 the opacity? this looks like the rgba format.

Great sharing. For the shape filling will you consider gradient filling in the future?

@@VisualPKM Thank you heaps for the prompt response!! I shall have a look :)
How do you get the color picking menu. When I draw shapes there is no options to change color or stroke etc. Even right clicking

I've been looking at those devices for some time now. What did you order? Let me know your experience once you have your hands on the device....
