I am a huge Spyderco fan, own about 16 models and im not lying when i say this has been my favorite to use... Im a new construction plumber (build not service) and use a knife easily 40+ times a day and everything about this knife is great. Its a great knife to actually use! The negative edge geometry makes cuts a breeze, it looks great and preforms better. Only thing im slightly worried about it its durability. So i carry usually a Spyderco Persistence or Spyderedge Endura or also a Sheepsfoot Mini grip as a backup blade) This knife is worth the pricetag in my atleast decently experienced opinion.
I'm still new to TNP but I really enjoy just letting your videos just play in the back ground when I'm doing chores, I've learned a lot about backpacking, hiking, camping, and shooting. However I've got to say that the POU videos are my favorite, and the WROL videos. I will be a viewer from no on. Hoping to be Considered a TNP'r.
Interesting how this channel has ebbed and flowed over the years. I truly miss getting up ballz early on a Saturday and kicking off the day with a Nutnfancy knife clinic video and a strong pot of coffee.
Ive owned one of these since they first came out and carried it a lot. One of the most underrated aspect is how the rounded non-jimped rear end allows you to comfortably put your hand in and out of your pocket. It’s by far the most comfortable knife in that regard. The downside as nutn stated was the detent is weak as is the case with almost all spyderco flippers. The problem can be resolved by making the detent hole in the blade larger with a carbide or diamond bit. This obviously voids the warranty, but is worth it to me. Should it come better from the factory, absolutely. Whoever designs the detent holes there should kindly shown the door.
Sal mentioned they usually discontinue knives because they're not selling, and ironically, that's when everyone wants them. As for the Sliverax, I totally want one :)
I think Spyderco does limited runs and sprints, because collectors comprise the vast majority of their sales. I mean some sprints are sold out in days.
It sure is pretty! I probably owned every Spyderco but I’ve always come back to the police model. Even sleep with it on my boxers it’s just the best knife. Thanks for the review.
Please keep dropping links to the watches in the description my good man. I'm sad your watch videos aren't getting the views, because you have gotten me into watches, in addition to my guns and knives habit.
I like it, it is a bit expensive but I am considering picking it up. My POU would be defensive as a reverse grip krambit style as it look like the blade would be a forward of the nuckles plus it looks like it would be a handy package opener with the FFG blade add in light weight.... I think im sold. OH and its unique. THANK YOU NUTN for the KRV
Have it as a suit knife, I love it. Buutttttt if you flick the flipper too hard, you can jam the lock up and bounce the blade back to your hand. I believe thats what the delay was about. And you can still dig your thumb and cut yourself on the blade tip when it's folded
I really wanted this knife when it came out. But I haven’t seen a RUclipsr give it a home run review. So I’ll stick to the tried and true PM2 and endura
Spyderco rotates their more exclusive models so they can keep bringing new things to market, otherwise their catalogue would be too large to manage. Bringing new things to market that are unique, unusual, niche, and sometimes innovative is one of the things that defines Spyderco.
The semi weak flipping action kills it for me. Too bad as I really like my Sage 5. I’m just too spoiled by the great flipping actions on my ZT’s. Looking forward to a review of the Mantra 3.
Not really related, but Nutn', thought I'd let you know... I'm married to a Filipina and when she cracks open coconuts and needs a good knife, the Crowell Barker I got from you is her go-to blade. :-)
My biggest question is can you do a compression lock deployment/close like on a PM2 or Para 3? I'd imagine the flipper tab gets in the way of that, which is a deal breaker for me, if so.
I handled it and that's something that jumped out to me. To close it without the flipper hitting your finger you have to be very careful about where you put your finger.
Got a bunch of knives because of Nutn', but after I got the Lone Wolf edition of the Endura Wave (with "Fear No Evil" engraved on the spine), I haven't wanted anything else.
I love the design, the only reason I am not going to buy it is unfortunately due to the action. You and many other reviewers have criticized its lack of "flipability". Whether its because of the ergonomics or the weak detent, I know a weak action would just annoy me, so Im gonna pass on this one.
*John Mackey* Haha well ill take your word for it, ive never handled one, ive only watch reviews. $160 is still a lot for me though. GideonsTactical said he sent his back and got one with a better detent so maybe you got a good one!
I'm subbed and have notifications on and I get nothing in my feed from you Nutn. I though you stopped making videos. YT simply sucks. Nice knife but it seems as if Spyderco sells knives like the Delica to use and a lot of knives like this one for collectors. Are they reall a company that simply exists for creating curios?
Taichung made Spyderco stuff is tippy top notch. Having said that $160 is still way too much. $110~$120 they would fly off the shelves. Or for $160, same design but much larger
I like the design. I don't mind the price for the quality that Taiwan puts into their builds. But....and I know that the majority disagree with me, I really dislike the compression lock.
What kind of bushings? lol thanks for the vid and Spyderco Phillips Kapara C241CFP looks like a SMF, where's the watch link? Not a watch guy but it looked nice and wanted to see the price. Might pick up the Silverax. if they make a non-flipper sprint. If I am paying over 100$ it better be a perfect design with no sharp edges (cept for the cutting edge you animals) Expect more from these knife makers guys. Spyderco upped their prices. So they better up their game to make the price worth it.
Beautiful design, could have easily done jimping, and I just do not like the spidey-hole that they love so much. To me its just a big weak point in the knife that doesnt work as well as a normal thumb stud or flipper.
The Sliverax is designed by the same guy that did the Ouroboros. I love the look of this knife but wish it was around $120... same with the Ouroboros... too expensive for VG-10. I loved the Junior but these are too high... even the drool worthy Shaman is a bit steep.
My Para 2 hasn't left my pocket in 4 years. It's so good I just can't find anything else I like better. I don't even lust after other knives anymore kinda sucks.
Nice knife helo looks a bit small 😂👍🇺🇸 I'm with you I like a bargain. Just got CRKT M16-01S Walmart less than $21 with tax love it and it will get sharp. Good review Nutn👍🇺🇸
To me in that price range, the Sliverax is a little overpriced. I do not mind the price for a knife, don't get me wrong. I carry a Paramilitary 2 every day. But this knife is not the same level of knife as the PM2. My PM2 is digicam with the black blade and cost about the same money as the Sliverax and to me, the PM2 is amazing and makes me happy. I would say if you like the Sliverax you better pull the trigger quick because I do not see it being around long at that price point with the other choices that are out there in that price point.
The PM2 is a wonderful knife, though. It's so good at being a cool, efficient, well-made folder it can make it tough to use as a measuring stick for others. I've still got mine in my edc rotation as the most common carry pieces, but there's fun in getting some funkier knives on the side. This one is just a bit too pricey in comparison to the value you get in the PM2. That's just for the stock PM2, too! For special variants the price gap ain't much bigger than this knife. But a lot of these aren't meant for people buying just one knife, most knife vids are aimed at the guys who collect them for carry and use, who most likely already have a PM2 (or two, or three, or.....)so the funky flavors have a little more allure to stand out against the pack. -Doodle
S35VN is my favorite knife steel. It scores high across the board
I am a huge Spyderco fan, own about 16 models and im not lying when i say this has been my favorite to use... Spyderco Manix 2 for life. Some of my favorite blades.
I actually really like the vertical striations. Something about them is just pleasing to my eye.
It's one of my favorite low end carry knives.....perspective perspective perspective.
Interesting how this channel has ebbed and flowed over the years. I truly miss getting up ballz early on a Saturday and kicking off the day with a Nutnfancy knife clinic video and a strong pot of coffee.
I love the lines of this knife. I also like that it has a flipper option.
Ive owned one of these since they first came out and carried it a lot. One of the most underrated aspect is how the rounded non-jimped rear end allows you to comfortably put your hand in and out of your pocket. It’s by far the most comfortable knife in that regard. I own a Junior Di Alex becauseof TNP. And I'm proud I bought one when it was out there. 'Exulent' blade!!!
Beautiful knife... I love my spydiechef and PM2!!
The more I look at it the more I like it.
I'm a low end knife guy, but I enjoy your reviews. You never know what you might run across in a bucket at goodwill for a bargain price
Apache's fly over my house all of the time! Another awesome Spyderco!
Sal mentioned they usually discontinue knives because they're not selling, and ironically, that's when everyone wants them. As for the Sliverax, I totally want one :)
great info
Glad to see you doing knife reviews again Nut'n. Seems like it has been awhile.
I think Spyderco does limited runs and sprints, because collectors comprise the vast majority of their sales. I mean some sprints are sold out in days.
Ringing Steel
More like minutes for the hot ones!!
Oh how times change . Nutn got me into knives almost 10 years ago. Now a days I realize he isn't much of a knife guy more just a gear guy.
1:50 starts the knife review...I really like this knife NutN...Its a perfect delicate working knife..Mostly slicing use
Holy shit that “shphoshpher bronze bushings” you got me good.
I like it, it is a bit expensive but I am considering picking it up. My POU would be defensive as a reverse grip krambit style as it look like the blade would be a forward of the nuckles plus it looks like it would be a handy package opener with the FFG blade add in light weight.... Nice knife. I kind of like it. I think I would probably prefer something else. You were correct sir. Like the review though!
You're right Nutn. It's something to different and neat to show your buddies, but I would stick with my Delica II for edc.
If you are going to use the knife the striation finish is fine. Less visible scratches
Have it as a suit knife, I love it. Buutttttt if you flick the flipper too hard, you can jam the lock up and bounce the blade back to your hand. I believe thats what the delay was about. And you can still dig your thumb and cut yourself on the blade tip when it's folded
I miss that numerical grade. 8/10 9/10 10/10
Gimme a number!
Thanks for the review!
Maybe do the Sog Seal XR some time? I know it’s heavy...
I like the looks of this knife.
The sliverax is a edc knife. You want tough? Get the Manix 2 XL. That knife is a beast.
That blade totally blows my skirt up
I really wanted this knife when it came out. But I haven’t seen a RUclipsr give it a home run review. So I’ll stick to the tried and true PM2 and endura
Cark Nelson Love my PM2, I carry it everyday religiously.
Off topic of knives, have you heard of the extar ep9 9mm pcc. Seems really nice and only $400.
Spyderco's best qc and fit and finish are done at the Taichung factory.
I'm curious if you have seen the Colonel Blades NCO? If so what do you think?
Spyderco rotates their more exclusive models so they can keep bringing new things to market, otherwise their catalogue would be too large to manage. Bringing new things to market that are unique, unusual, niche, and sometimes innovative is one of the things that defines Spyderco.
I really really like the blade!!
I dig the wire pocket clip, blade shape, blade grind, and weight but unfortunately the peel ply CF and flipper kill it for me.
I liked this knife I removed flipper tab with a dremel now I love it the detent is to weak to be a flipper
Been waiting for this one
I really like the blade steel and the handle. Put that handle on a clip point or something with a belly and I'd pay them for it. Everyday carry.
All your links are Amazon!! And amazon doesn't have it!
There's a sweet blade
The semi weak flipping action kills it for me. Too bad as I really like my Sage 5. I’m just too spoiled by the great flipping actions on my ZT’s. Looking forward to a review of the Mantra 3.
I like it but I modified the flipper tab to shorten it for better push button style flipping and less interference with the compression lock
I’m sure it’s been asked but what’s up with the zip ties on the the spydie holes? From a fello former USAF Airman
Never mind I just had to watch a little longer lol
Not really related, but Nutn', thought I'd let you know... I'm married to a Filipina and when she cracks open coconuts and needs a good knife, the Crowell Barker I got from you is her go-to blade. :-)

I handled it and that's something that jumped out to me. To close it without the flipper hitting your finger you have to be very careful about where you put your finger.
It's very cool bro and it looks really sharp too. Another awesome review Nutnfancy.
What’s a good neck knife? I’m looking for something to wear while backpacking. Thanks guys.
Rubicon V white river knives backpacker, tops msk 3.5, tops tibo, bark river bravo edc (need to get a kydex), benchmade altitude
sem dijkstra I'll check those out. Thanks
I miss you nutn. I feel like we never talk anymore.
I've had my Sliverax since last October? I think... Nothing has kicked it from my edc yet! I was lucky enough to get it before the map increase :)
I freaking love it!!
Got a bunch of knives because of Nutn', but after I got the Lone Wolf edition of the Endura Wave (with "Fear No Evil" engraved on the spine), I haven't wanted anything else.
I might buy it, but would rather get it in a trade in one of the Spyderco knife groups on Facelick.
I was so close to buying one at cabelas one time, I ended up with a Lil Native instead, love the lil native but kinda wish I would’ve got the ax
I love the design, the only reason I am not going to buy it is unfortunately due to the action. You and many other reviewers have criticized its lack of "flipability". Whether its because of the ergonomics or the weak detent, I know a weak action would just annoy me, so Im gonna pass on this one.
It’s an Awesome flipper!! It’s like fine jewelry
*John Mackey* Haha well ill take your word for it, ive never handled one, ive only watch reviews. $160 is still a lot for me though. GideonsTactical said he sent his back and got one with a better detent so maybe you got a good one!
It’s nice But usually if I’m going for carbon fiber I buy ZT, the weave is perfect on their CF.
Nutnfancy, can you review the Kahr Arms Delica?
blacksheep4733 that would be cool but I think that model is discontinued, so it seems unlikely.
Alex F yea they pop up on eBay every now and again but they’re not cheap. They look cool, I’d love if they brought em back
Sharpness check on point
Hey Nutn
Could you review a WE knife
Not really interested in a specific model just wanted to hear your take on a expensive Chinese produced knife
Hey nutn I would buy it. Any chance for you to review some more hec blades $400-$200 ?
That’s a bad ass knife if you ask me
I'm subbed and have notifications on and I get nothing in my feed from you Nutn. I though you stopped making videos. YT simply sucks. Nice knife but it seems as if Spyderco sells knives like the Delica to use and a lot of knives like this one for collectors. Are they reall a company that simply exists for creating curios?
Passed on a spyderco for a CRKT. Nice knife.
Why you missing a screw on your endurance?
What's the reason for zip ties on the knives?
Taichung made Spyderco stuff is tippy top notch. Having said that $160 is still way too much. $110~$120 they would fly off the shelves. Or for $160, same design but much larger
Can you please do a review of the new Kimber advanced tactical soc2... they claim it's .5 moa guarantee... please find out if it's legitimate.
How do you cut things with those silly zip ties on them?
Nutn, you ever wish you had gone rotary wing over fixed?
I'm a horticulturalist nutn.. best use forgetting a thorn out is a sewing needle :)
No reply nec.
Is your vid image reversed l2r? Sometimes happens on YT.
Oh man the BHQ link is messed up.
Yo nutnfancy what's up with the zip ties you never used to do that 2 Spyderco Knives
It is really cool but id rather have the shaman for $10 more
Shaman rocks. Tank of a knife
I love the Sliverax, but yes I want that too.
Off topic: I just got my MCX. Thanks for your review.
Super cool knife
I like the design. I don't mind the price for the quality that Taiwan puts into their builds. But....and I know that the majority disagree with me, I really dislike the compression lock.
Discount code didn’t work for my purchase.
Love the knife! A little pricey, but I'll probably get it.
Did you duracoat the endura handles?
I like the sliverax, but for $150 it would take me awhile to actually getting around to buying it.
Can I get a link to the watch???
What kind of bushings? lol thanks for the vid and Spyderco Phillips Kapara C241CFP looks like a SMF, where's the watch link? Not a watch guy but it looked nice and wanted to see the price. Still waiting for a Nutnfancy silencer review. Been watching since around 08 09 ish.... still no dedicated silencer review.
My Para 2 hasn't left my pocket in 4 years. It's so good I just can't find anything else I like better. I don't even lust after other knives anymore kinda sucks.
Still got that pm2 in your pocket?
@@rctrue Lol no it's Microtech SOCOM nowadays. I believe the Para 2 was a better EDC for normal knife tasks functionality but the SOCOM gives me wood.
Nice knife helo looks a bit small 😂👍🇺🇸
I'm with you I like a bargain. Just got CRKT M16-01S Walmart less than $21 with tax love it and it will get sharp. Good review Nutn👍🇺🇸
Bring back the Barong
Could you do a KIZER knife review?
Apache still in the house.
Just got one today!!!
3min in and your right. To expensive for my taste. I would spend $100 at most would be a deal at $80? Maybe
To me in that price range, the Sliverax is a little overpriced. I do not mind the price for a knife, don't get me wrong. I carry a Paramilitary 2 every day. Ah... im just not a spyderco guy.
Nobody is perfect
Me neither. Never been a fan of that big thumb-hole opening method (and I hate flippers even more).
Mr Murdoch yessss is it too easy for you?
Mr Murdoch yessss Thumb hole is great. I thought it was weird before I got one.
To sum it up Spyderco makes one knife in different forms
I bought your hat and I love it!
Mildly interested in the design, but for that price, it's an absolute no-go for me.
