stephen carpenter was the reason i started playing guitar. the first song i ..ever..learned to play was shove it my own summer. be quiet and drive was the second. engine number 9 is one of the baddest songs ever! I cant even begin to tell you his influence on my playing. my hero and a legend
This is so badass!!! I'm glad ESP is always cool with their endorsed guitarists showing other brands love too. I can't remember who but another person with ESP is now with Keisel too
Kiesel stays winning. I was a homeless veteran until October of last year. My Kiesel actually survived the streets, traveled the world, and toured onstage. They are incredible guitars.
Not to mention the struggles he had with his rig. Such a cool look into things. I think that may have been why he held back from Gore while he fixed all that up. Hope to see more Koi songs live!
I can't believe BATTLEAXE is getting love. Also my favorite Deftones song. ATF is my favorite record of theirs. So tasty to hear all this from these guys.
Finally after 10+ years we get a video of Stef talking shop aka his rig! And in-depth insight on his rig his struggles with it and what he’s using. Awesome video thanks for this! Thanks for ripping the set list off the stage in Chicago Huntington Bank Pavilion last summer and handing it to me lol. Love u Stef!
Imagine building such a great guitar, that very well known guitarists who are married to brands and have been for years still want to seek you out to build one with you. Really says a lot about just how great Kiesel is. Thanks for sharing, Jeff!
That awesome, also kudos to Esp, just shows they love the artist, and know they have love somewhere but, hey fans of instruments.. they can share man… lol. Devin Townsend also coming on board, was very cool. Much respect to all of you.
The main man behind Deftones. Deftones w/o chino can't exist but Stephen is totally the reason for them being. Handing out demo's since his teenage years. Brought White Pony 12-00 After Listening to Digital Bath Lucky cuz it had Back To School. RIP Chi. Well Wishes To Sergio And Much Respect To Frank Stephen Abe Camillo 😂.
its so cool to see stef refer to the battle axe riff as a "snake charming" riff. ive always said the same thing! it always had that middle eastern/snake charm vibe in my opinion
I remember feildy had a all white k5 that went into production for like a month, but they had such a hard time keeping it spot on, that they pulled the production on it. But it was a killer bass
Switching it up....cool ..........I still have my 7 string baritone 207 ........Stephen's signature guitar from 2007...it's falling apart but I love it
Instead of painting the boards, would it be possible to do a phenolic fretboard for the white? Epiphone and Gibson has put out some guitars (snow falcon, thunderhorse, snøfall, Buckethead) that did it. Seems like it would be more scalable than hand painting.
I think stef is the type of guitar player to be put in with the likes of Geordie walker from killing joke in terms of just having very unique rhythm guitar sounds. They both play and texturize with the songs in mind which is something you don’t get with busier players often
22:04 i've got the album tone-match cab dump stef uploaded years ago loaded up onto my axe fx 3. paired with the jmpre1 amp model on the OD2 setting with the gain cranked, they really do sound JUST like the album tones, it's crazy cool. anyone who has an axe fx and loves deftones should definitely give them a try.
You better be working on a Keisel Tele even if Stephen doesn't need or want one. More need to know feel and hear that 7 string baritone block of wood i,ve had my LTD SCT-607B i. I'm so happy i decided to buy one 10 years ago, it's truly a special guitar. Stephen is my biggest influence, and the Deftones have been easily my favorite band since hearing that Abe come in on Around the Fur. Cool to see you become friends and enjoy each other's company. Soon, you will forget while hanging out what he does for a living at times because of his kind disposition.
Its so cool to see more artists have cross brand endorsements and how companies can support the artists in harmony without a pressure of being “exclusive”. It lets the companies focus on what they do best, instead of trying to please everyone. Which is what SO many companies try to do is this ridiculous “diversity”, but sometimes too much is too much and quality goes down from it. As a drummer ive changed brands as my playing changes because some companies do certain things better. They dont have to please everyone. Its important to have an identity and stick to it. Kiesel for example has the headless guitar niche and do it really well and other companies dont see the need to compete when one brand has that as a signature model. Like Gibson and Fender, everyone copies their design. Its good to have that power as a brand to have something everyone wants that they even want to copy it lol Still want a RD clone done right lol Gibson dropped that ball.
That guitar will sell well with a high price tag. It doesn't look like it'd take a week to make. To me, it's one of the most beautiful guitars that I've ever seen. It looks like an angelic beast. Now I want one. Props to Framus, Stef, Kiesel & ESP - true forward thinking gentlemen.
We're gonna need some new playthrough videos with those guitars, Stef.
they're comin'
@@MorningShotFilms Are you serious?
Does the Catholic church molest altar boys?
Hope with live sound, not those fake ones.

Very cool. Stef and Deftones have influenced a lot of us for so many years. And damn he knows how to spec out bad ass guitars lol
This is so badass!!! I'm glad ESP is always cool with their endorsed guitarists showing other brands love too. I can't remember who but another person with ESP is now with Keisel too
joshua travis?
Andy James?
Cole Rolland?
I don't know how that works. I think they don't give people an ultimatum, because they might just leave.
I've been searching for who it was since I posted this and it's starting to drive me insane
Kiesel stays winning.

How are you doing these days?
@@DiamondLifer I work for a production company called Forthright Booking and I'm touring next month with a band called Pound.
Thank you for your service, your not only a soldier on the battlefield but your a soldier at life.
LOL When he was like "he doesn't eat shit" I literally choked on my coffee laughing so hard!!! 🤣
I loved the insight Stef gave from the first question! Koi and D Eyes are just masterpieces
Not to mention the struggles he had with his rig. Such a cool look into things. I think that may have been why he held back from Gore while he fixed all that up. Hope to see more Koi songs live!

My favorite too. I have listened to it 100’s of times

Stef is so cool and layed back one of my favorite guitarist
I saw him in Charlottesville, April '98. Up close. Live. You don't get a better demonstration than that! I'm going to watch women do yoga.
This is the coolest collaboration in music. Thank you gentlemen! ❤
Imagine building such a great guitar, that very well known guitarists who are married to brands and have been for years still want to seek you out to build one with you. Really says a lot about just how great Kiesel is. Thanks for sharing, Jeff!
This dude has made some of my favorite riffs of all time.
That awesome, also kudos to Esp, just shows they love the artist, and know they have love somewhere but, hey fans of instruments.. they can share man… lol. Devin Townsend also coming on board, was very cool. Much respect to all of you.
Dude you are making me buy one !!!
Great seeing you guys Sat. I heard about your co. All white guitar love it! Love you too,Stef. J.G. Sac. CA

Big congratulations to you both. I hear nothing but great things about Kiesel guitars, time for me to check them out I think 👍🤘🤘🤘
ESP and Kiesel are both fantastic companies.
Both my fav modern guitar makers.
Sick! I bet Steph was thinking Enterprise Earth. Guitars came out gorgeous!
Does anybody else notice that around the 26/27min mark it looks like Steph's guitar has a reverse headstock???
Awesome news! Welcome 👋🏻🩵
Thank you, Stef.
Switching it up....cool ..........I still have my 7 string baritone 207 ........Stephen's signature guitar from 2007...it's falling apart but I love it
That’s a big artist!!
Both guitars are fantastic. That pink 8 though… my pants size grows about half a size every time I see it. ;)
awesome special! great to see stef sharing his thoughts. Hey, y'all should make a left handed 8 string for me :)
Super awesome
I briefly met Darius Tehrani and Baby Jay, of Spite, at the set playing before they got on. they were both super nice and I got a selfie!
Both ESP & Kiesel will be in my collection.
Steph was thinking about the Kramer Nightswan(pickup configuration). He was also talking about The Cloud Custom Guitar made for Prince.
So fkn epic. 😊
Princes white guitar is the cloud guitar.. The one that was in the window on purple rain... I believe made by schecter!
California Love!
Can’t believe he’s using a Line 6 helix. They really have come such a long way.
Yes! 🖤🤘🏼
This is the first interview I’ve seen with Stef where he doesn’t seem baked as fuck.
Stef é uma cara muito legal e também muito engraçado
3 years to sus out the axe fx 😆 that’s why I’ll never own one.. awesome chat. Stoked for the double endorsement

Please tell me which model the 3rd guitar on the left is. I want it!!!!
A2
Now he has to do that Louis Vuitton print
Wait what!! 🙌 🙌!!!!! 🤯🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

That's a cool reference. Geordie Walker is on a plain of his own.
Stef the best
Steftone 🤘🏻
SMOKE DANK
Epic!
Are these guitars going to have a commercial run?
Good on ESP. I didn't know much about them. Just looked at their website and their Snapper line of 7/8 string superstrats has me drooling.

What's the EQ Settings, please?
kiesel is doing all the right things. I see them everywhere and people love these guitars. kant miss the body shape. every metal player needs one
This boy nuttier than squirrel shit and I love him for it
Wow....Steph.... man of no words ...how baked were you this entire stream?
My biggest influence of all time.

You can wrap the guitar in Self adhesive vinyl.
Thanx Stef: I had no idea what a multi-scaled guitar is (your neighbor across the street)
Steph has no idea what a multi-scale guitar is either lol. It refers to the scale-length of the individual strings.
So when are we getting we getting a Stef signature Kiesel??
Still waiting for the playthrough of This Place is Death!! Hopefully soon!
Spoke too soon! Stef mentioned that he won't play it until the FX are sorted.
Nice 🙂
I can't believe Stef uses a helix. Modeling has come a really long way.

Reminds me of when Homer got to design a car, I wonder if Stef asked for “racket-peanut” pickups 😂
8:26 oof! Multi-scale refers to the scale-length of the strings...not musical scales or fanned frets 41:46 😑
I’ve just never came around to headless guitars. Like the color design though.
I want one of those white ones
Hey! Call the guitar with the tuners at the bridge a "Bull Pup." Sell a million.
♥♥♥
Is this kinda like Hetfield's and Hammett's arrangement with both ESP and Gibson?
Cool he’s a Chelsea grin fan
Bet Kiesel is going to start offering fretboard binding now

“Sucking all the words right out of my mouth”😐
😆
Hopefully this means Dan Jacobs gets his ESP guitar again
Cerakote is used on da guns usually
Doubletaked when I saw an ESP there.
"9-string Aries"
I heard that.
wooooww
RAD🎉🤘🤘🤘
Did he shave us eyebrows?
Stef seems so chill.
Just hydro dip camo and clear coat it.. every guitar is unique
Best Guitarist playing the Best Guitar🤘

They were lost in a tragic blunt lighting incident 😂
