Beautiful job you did restoring that Yankee screwdriver. My father had one of those ratchet- type screwdrivers, and I still have it as far as I know. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. Excellent work.

I still have two of them in my toolbox in my shed, the model you restored was the 131, the smaller of the two Yankee models. I was taught never to release the spring loaded tip, as it would damage the mechanism of the screwdriver.

@@HowToRestoration Thank you. ps, did you know that if you lose the screw that holds the cover over the selected slider, you can replace it with a terminal screw from any electrical plug or socket.

There was no greater pain than slipping out of a slot-head screw while driving it in with the Yankee ratchet! 😮 The sensation of jabbing your fingertips with the blade of the screwdriver bit, at full tilt, etches a lifelong memory (or scars) to the user that never leaves you. 😞

This is one restoration video that I really liked. My Father had two of this same model Yankee screwdriver. I wish that had kept them. The original cordless screwdriver.

Je me souviens que mon père avait un tournevis comme celui-là. Petit, j'étais fasciné par cet outil et je jouais de longue heures avec 😊.

That thing just looks dirty. Don't know if I'd call it restoration as it's more a very thorough cleaning.

Faking the rust is far more believable if you remove the wire you used for the reverse electrolysis before the video.

@samuelfellows6923 yeah fraud! He obviously used reverse electrolysis to artificially rust and "age" this. Hell he even left the wire on it that he did it with.
