@@kaneturley9415 You’re way ahead of me. I’m still playing Kent’s recording in the background and moving my hands all over the guitar neck AS IF I was actually playing it! All kidding aside, I’ve watched many of Kent’s other videos and I think he custom tunes his guitar (though not open tunings) for each song so he can play all the different parts simultaneously. This would make his arrangements even harder to play!

Yeah, it's crazy. Did you notice how he was "strumming" notes with a downstroke at the same time as the thumb slap? I know a lot of Korean and Japanese guitarists like Sungha Jung use the nail attack/kotassive to create the same effect but this is also quite cool.
You think guitars are just about plucking and strumming and this kind of thing comes along and blows your mind.
Watch Alexandr misko, yes, he is playing this music in high level.

The arrangement is just so pure. You hear the entire song on his one single instrument. And he carries all the emotion of the original plus his own. Just thank you for that.
That's my favorite thing about Kent. There's no unnecessary flashy shit. Every note he plays serves the song. Any fancy technical stuff he does is done for the right reasons.

im trying to learn this arrangement its confusing to play both the bass and rhythm drums and vocal at the sametime but you just gotta get used to it its really satisfying once you learn a part

This is definitely some high-level guitar playing. Kent clearly hears music way different than the normal person and then converts it into the masterpieces we hear from him. He has cracked the guitar code and we are the beneficiaries.

There are two realms of Nishimura's genius. The second realm is his fabulous technique, especially the right hand stuff. But the first realm is just being able to conceive of these arrangements - Bass lines, rhythm taps, chord structures, melodies - all integrated seamlessly in a single cohesive performance. There are very few musicians who can claim to have reinvented the way an instrument can be played - and Kent Nishimura is one of them. I wonder what he wants to be when he grows up?
Kent wants to be a world-class musician who can make many people in this planet happy and smile, traveling in all over the world for his concert tour.

I saw this in my recommended videos and I knew I was in for something special. The original version has fallen out of my head and this version has taken over.

I started playing the guitar when I was in my mid teens. I am now in my late 50s. I now say 'I know how to play the guitar but I can't play the guitar'. Not after watching Kent and Alip Ba Ta. They have showed us how the guitar is to be played. They have re-defined what playing the guitar means.
