Osmond Tribute to George and Olive from Jay, Virl and Jimmy

- This is a tribute to George and Olive Osmond. It was requested by Jay and Virl. This is an incomplete video which was meant to have much more production incorporated into it but Virl was unable to continue his efforts to offer direction so this is a work to date unfinished but still waiting for Illusion Productions to complete it. Only time will tell how it all turns out depending on Jay or Virl's direction. Until then enjoy a sneek preview of what Jay initially started.

LOVELY COUPLE and raised a good family. I'm a fan of the Osmond's
I was on a school trip to Disneyland in 1969. My friends and I were listening to the Righteous Brothers and I was standing next to the older Osmond brothers. My girlfriend and I were arguing.. I said they were the Osmond Brothers, and she said they were the Cowsills. I said, " I'm going to settle this, and I asked this Lady, who was with them if they were the Osmond Brothers, and she said, " why yes they are, dear, and I'm there Mother, Olive, would you like to meet them?" I said, " of course!". It was so exciting for me a 13 year old girl, who watched them on the Andy Williams show each week, to meet them. But, there Mother was the kindest and sweetest Mom. She told me that Donnie, Marie and Jimmy were in the hotel room with their father. Several months later, while visiting my best girlfriend in Santa Rosa, I met and ice skated with Charles Shultz (creator Charlie Brown). That was my best year!!!!

I been a fan since 1972 i loved them then and now my mum just looked like mrs osmond my mum passed away in 2005 a year after mrs osmond died RIP

Words cannot describe how pleased I am to have met George and Olive. They were genuine people. God rest their souls.
They created an empire. You know something? Even when I think of any Osmond, I think of wholesome quality. The Osmonds are just a little bit of heaven brought to earth.
it was an empire but apparently the father donated all their money to the church, as they say probably 100 million dollars and he left his children penniless, he didn't care much about them, they worked so hard for that money and didn't received a penny.

Jay has his mothers Saxaphone now. Beautiful Couple and they created such wonderful kids. The Osmonds have been through their own challenges. But one thing remains the same. Their Love for one another and that is from their Parents. They were taught Family is very important.
I'll tell ya - the number one thing that makes me love all of the Osmonds as much as I do is all of the good hearts.
What an amazing family!!! The parents we all wanted as our own. What a true testament to everything that is right. They made hard times look easy. True class.
What a lovely couple. They seemed like really great people. Just look at the wonderful children they raised. Every single one of them turned out great. Great parents.
I wish I had been a part of a family like theirs where there was so much love and respect for one another.

my family and the osmonds, go back a long way. it was thru my aunt and uncle that got mr george and ms olive together. my uncle and mr george were both muscially inclined together. i grew up watching them on tv and would go by their studio in UTAH but never got the chance to actually meet them in person. they are truly a wonderful & amazing family with such beautiful voices to share with the world. so grateful for the treasured memories of listening, watching and singing of their family.

I think it is very difficult to find a couple of the ordinary father and mother who could raise such a big family with very high qualities like Father George and Mother Olive. I really do appreciate the Osmond Father and Mother. As I do really appreciate all the members of the Osmonds. Rise high or Fall down, they never give up their dreams and they're always stand side by side to lend the helping hands to each other. May GOD bless them forever.

To the best mother and father who raised 8 handsome sons and 1 beautiful daughter. I felt like I have known you since I was 16 years old. I have been following them since 1971 To George(father) and Olive(mother) you are deeply missed.

Wow - I didn't realize before how much Jay looks like his mom.
How wonderful your family had an impact in their lives. My own father sang barbershop quartet with George Sr. and I was lucky enough to get to meet and know a few of the family. Virl has become a dear friend of mine and I love him dearly. Just a plain old good family.
This is beautiful, and precious - I hope the brothers remember to finish it. It would be wonderful if they could note names and dates on the photos so even grand and great grandchildren etc will know. The impact of this family on millions of people should never be forgotten.

Does it. really, need to be finished? Something like this doesn't need "slick production". We can tell, just by what we have here, that a remarkable family is paying their tribute to even more remarkable parents. The love shines through. The memories remain vivid and are shared - simply and effectively - with a world eternally grateful for their legacy.....

On a Behnd The Music Documentary, Olive questioned George's Disciplinary Methods and he said "If We Don't Correct The Children Mother Society Will". That was heavy. He was strict and by today's standards "abusive" with his perfectionism but he was lucky. His Family never forgot they were a Family First A Band Second. They are all still alive. The Jacksons weren't as lucky.
Thankfully, he was no Murray Wilson.
I agree. I mean it is one thing when they were kids but they were the same kind of parents as adults when their kids were grown. I am a "kid" their kids' age (the 2nd Generation age that is) between David and Don Osmond in age and I can hardly say I respect their fathers' generation with respect to life but I absolutely respect Donny/Jay etc for how they conduct themselves.

And as far as them being a perfect family, they were not. Donny and some of the rest of them have admitted that the image was not the reality.
