I didn't know zf6 swaping furnaces were actually a 'thing'? I was really good in trans class back in school, so I don't have a problem saying the Allison's are waaay better than any dodge 46,47,48, and newer dodge trans missions put behind the Cummins. Alison swaps for Cummins and powerstroke are really just kinda comming around with stand alone controllers from ATS, the ant eater controller. And stuff, pretty neat stuff but it's not cheap, you're looking like $15k to get your foot in the door. lol. Manual swaps are prolly the number one questions ever asked by Cummins guys that have an automatic trans, and can be done conservatively for aboht $5000-$7500 bucks depending on how crazy you go and depending on if using a parts donor truck, or pricing everything together piece by piece at the junk yard, eBay, etc. a complete parts truck is going to be easier and have everything right there you need. It's still not a 'wham , bam yank the auto on Friday night with a buddy in the garage, and stab the manual on Saturday and your driving to the races on Sunday afternoon.' It's more involved than that. There's plenty of good quality in depth videos and docu-series u tube videos that are very in depth on manual swaping. Decent garage is a good channel to watch, he has a really good 4 part series. And he's doing it on garage floor with a cheap harbor freight trans jack. With minimal power tools. So the playing field is level in terms of what the normal person is going to have avaliable to them like a lift, air/ hydrolic trans jack, shop air etc, power tools etc. I've heard there's not a lot of beef up parts for the zf6 trans. And even hard to find replacement oe internal pays for a rebuild. Clunky, long throw. I've seen 3 zf6 duramax over the years, and driven 2 of them. It seems like there's more than a few out there. They weren't popular, and that's because of the Alison trans being the cats meow when it comes to diesel auto transmissions. You still got your hard core Manual trans guys out there. Me being one. I've had one auto Maria trans dodge, blew up the stock converter at 100k miles and had to throw $9500 at it to have a stage 5 full billet thru and thru trans for it no expense spared. Never again. It was a nice billet stage 5 trans. It shifted great! But I'd rather have a Manual. I don't like my truck telling Me how to drive. I want to be in control. I don't like the newer trucks with all the bells and whistles, traction control, lane departure assist, back up parking sensors and all that crap, to much tech, to many sensors, modules, and sensors telling sensors what to do. I want a simple mechanical truck, I don't want to turn the 4wd knob and watch a blinking light flash and hope it turns solid and it goes into 4wd. I want to brag a lever and pull it and feel it engage in 4wd and know it's ready to go! I don't need a camera to back up to my trailer! I've been doing it since before I was old enough to drive and can still do it 25 yrs later with out a back up camera! Doing a manual zf6 swap is going in that direction, less computers, modules and sensors. Take that TCM and toss it! lol actually it prolly needs to stay to make everything else work right. Heh. Anything mechanical that dosent have sensors, modules and electronics is always going to be more reliable, easier to work on and last longer. And cheaper to maintain, service, and repair or replace!
@@Moose400ex I have one and love it. It's better than the Allison IMO. I pull my 42 ft gooseneck with my 580 SN Backhoe with ease. I put in a South bend dual friction organic clutch and it works flawlessly. I have drove standard transmissions all my life and just prefer them over automatics. The Allison was nice but when I found a ZF6, I jumped on it. Not hating against the Allison.
I had an LB7 ZF6 and it drove spectacularly. Just couldn't keep the injectors right. I sold it and now own an LBZ ZF6. Drives great, a little clunky and has some flywheel issues, but I still love it!

I bought a 02 Lb7 and the dude took the whole radiator off because he was planning on replacing the water pump... Well he never did, I bought it because it was a great deal and always wanted a duramax because my dad had a 02 v8, I fell in love with it but I always wanted the Duramax. But to what I was going to ask man... If it's all possible I could ask you to send me pictures of under the hood, of literally everything.... Please, I'm kinda going crazy that my truck is still just sitting there because honestly I don't even know where to start to tackle this pain...
Those shocks are just a cheap junky rancho 5000 of sky jacker Budget shock. Nothing special, someone's spray painted them all black because they rust quickly. I'd ditch them and go with a nice fox 2.0, with remote resi or not, depends on if you wanna spend the extra money, but if you go resi, the. Deff get the dcs adjuster option. It makes a huge difference in ride quality and adjustability. Or add like an extra $100 to each shock but ya worth it! The lift kit just looks like a typical rancho sky jacker kit. Nothing special. It's it's all rusty crusty I'd consider removing it and replacing it with a better fab tech or bds kit. You won't be able to go back to Stock, not unless you replace some parts. Most of those budget rancho cheapy kits require you to cut the frame and the front diff. I don't remember exactly but you had to chop something off with a sawzall! All them kits required cutting! So your so your pretty much stuck with it lifted! It looks good tho. The lift ain't hurting anything. Looks like you got some rust tissues, and live in the salt belt! Fluid film or New Hampshire oil coating! Colorado don't use salt, heh it hardly even snows anymore! My frame on my '02 24v HO 6 speed is so clean you could eat off it. Shiny gloss black everywhere. Everyone says the zf6 duramax is such a rare truck, and like 1% type thing, I've seen 3 in person over the years. And driven one or two. They are kinda clunky. It's not a very smooth trans like a nv5600. I don't even really care for a g56 the third gen dodges have. My '02 has the nv5600 and it's a bomb proof, a 450lb cast iron behemoth monster. The g56 being cast alumn has issues cracking under high torque and Hp. And I hear the zf6 really doesn't haven't much aftermarket support for anyone wanting to 'beef' up or billy anything. And stock oe quality replacement parts are hard to get ahold of if you need them. I've heard horror stories of trans ships waiting 3 months to get needed replacement shafts or gears ⚙️ because they are so rare. The biggest baddest 6 speed trans is an Eaton full super 6! Basically a medium duty dump truck trans! An nv5600 is classified as a 'medium duty' trans. So something that would be in a single rear axle med duty dump truck, like a ford with a 12v Cummins from the 80's or 90's. The G56, nv4500, zf6, they are all classified as 'light duty' pickup truck transmission's!

My zf6 is also super clunky I put a poly trans mount in and it seemed to help. Talked to a bunch of zf guys and they all agree they are not smooth.

I haven't driven either of those, but I heard all the manual transmissions Dodge/Ram have used on their diesels are much smoother than the ZF6s.
