    Would love to see a rebuild of the hub bearings if you are doing it on this rear end.

    I love that you're restoring this early car, I've always liked them. I've always compared the early vs late XJS to the Countach. Yes, very different cars, but both were pure & simple early on and both got a bit overly styled by the end. The Countach more so, but comparing an early XJS to a 96/96 gives me the same feeling. I love the early cars and look forward to seeing this completed.

    I did this job on my daimler double six and was quite surprised how easy it was it is quiet a simple system and well designed.

    Great tip about using a motorcycle jack to aid in the removal of the rear axle. I was figuring out the best way to safely remove the axle on my XJ81 and that jack would work very well. 👍

    Been waiting so long for this! I'm so excited to see all the videos on this car. I've learned so much from you Adam. I have a 1979 XJS. i've recently fitted the simply performance exhaust system on it. It needs a few more things still though. can't wait to see all the videos on yours and I am so excited for you and this build. Keep up the great videos!

    I've been watching your videos for years, just wanted to comment to say that you are making my ownership of my XJR-S so much more achievable through showing me how I can do jobs myself that I would previously not have dared to tackle. Also, you are going to love the new exhaust - I have the centre muffler delete pipes from Simply Performance on mine and they give the car a lot more rumble.

    Hi, I've been watching your videos for a while and scrolling through looking for some specific stuff. What I really need to see is a detailed walkthrough of the wiring on a V12 HE with the Lucas system. I bought one as a project but there has been some fiddling in the past and there's lots of things disconnected without labels. I would be more than happy to pay for a patreon video if it's a hassle. Cheers

    The IRS is really only held on by those 4 rubber mounts if the rear of XJS is jacked up, those mounts can deteriorate and split .

    .Hi Adam . I used the motor cycle stand to drop my engine . I wish l'd bought it to lower the rear subframe !! Thanks Adam .

    This is going to be interesting to watch my XJS IRS has been rebuilt so I am glad about it all new coil springs and and shocks best regards Andy Allen.

    Same set up as the E-type rear end? My father's 1989 model doesn't need rebuilding yet, but probably the bushes need doing - so I'll be waiting to see how they are replaced. Great project.

    Hey Adam love the video seems like the best way to get at those brakes and and do some house cleaning at the same time. Quick question I have a 83 xjs is amsoil 10/40 with zinc safe for a V12. Always use it in my bikes works great 👍 .

    Looking at this, I was wondering if the early XJ-S and series XJ had the same issue as the XJ40, with the diff output shaft bearings going bad at around 200 000 km, making a lot of noise? I replaced these on mine with a kit that I bought from Simply Performance and it has worked very well!

    You should consider the EZ-BLEED system that SNG stocks. It was a simple fit and makes for easy bleeding.

      Not a fan of them to be honest. I think it works really well as it was intended

    Always wondered if the chassis on the XJS was the same as the XJ saloon, I'm guessing it is 🤔 well its got the IRS anyways

    Norman Dewis is probably still arguing with engineers in heaven that the XJ-S did not need a rear sway bar/roll bar. 🙂

    I've thoroughly enjoyed your posts! I have a 1985 (looks identical, mine is BRG), very low miles one-owner. I am considering a complete dissemble rebuild and restore only because it has sat for 20 years. First aspect is to drop/pull the drive train and engine out completely. I'd welcome your thoughts.     Maybe have a videoconference with simply performance and discuss what you will use on the Xjs and also to let them show/video what they have (amazing company!)

    I thought the brake line entered the IRS from whichever side the pedals are on.
