My dear husband Chris (he died a year ago) was a Jaguar enthusiast who watched your videos Adam. He always rated the pre HE highly. Particularly the V12. I absorbed a lot of his knowledge but wish I had half his genius in the garage. Enjoy your new motor.
@seriousros7280 I had a pre HE carburettor model 1973 in regency red with a light tan interior, had 6 weeks driving without fault and then one morning after a petrol stop the engine stuttered badly, I managed to make it back home but it never ran properly again and I tried everything and so did a few local mechanics - I would like to have known your husband and I’m sorry for your loss - he was indeed a man of great taste - both cars and ladies -
So pleased for you Adam. I’ve owned and restored my 1978 XJ-S dream car for 10yrs now. I’ve wanted one since I was a wee boy and get as much joy just sitting in it 😂
I followed the XJS from its release as we lived near the dealership then in the 90’s my Step Father bought the revised version 6.0 V12 two tone moonstone blue much more Germanic suspension rock hard spoiled it. Of course it went like a jet super smooth. But I think the best XJS are the earlier cars turbine waft monsters in British Leyland colours.
As a school boy I used to polish my neighbours 4.2 XJ6 in about 1975. His name was Jim Porter and lived at 76 Kings Avenue, Bromley, Kent. He used to drive it to his house in Spain with his wife. I remember how nice it was, finished in dark blue with grey interior, which I still think has one of the nicest interiors in the world. Great you have this beautiful rare coupe, great project. Happy Christmas.
What a find. Plan thoroughly and go step by step. Yes that model is worth every penny you spend on it assuming the basic shell is OK. Best from the UK.
When I was a mechanic this was my favourite engine to tune! The customer would bring it in running like 💩 and I would send it back out running like a sowing machine.
Merry Christmas to you. Your videos are a real service to the Jaguar community and much needed inspiration and motivation to myself. As for your coupe - I have never seen a rust free version in it original state never! - it’s not only rare - it’s a miracle. All the best for you and your enterprise in 2024.
Adam, Im glad for you. Great to see you have acquired your dream car, but more over that you are going to start your own full time classic car repair shop. I still can remember your first video...I wouldnt have expected those times that you would get to this point :) Huge congratulations. Even i have no more time to watch your chanel regulary, i still do watch some of your videos time to time... You are still a huge motivation and inspiration to slowly continue with my 420G project. Finger crossed and wish to you and all your family only the best in 2024... Good luck and keep going.
What a great find Adam, really pleased for you. I love original cars. Whenever I go to a classic car show, I get and admire the fully restored cars, but I absolutely adore the original cars with warts and all. As the saying goes, “ there only original once”.
Congratulations Adam! You deserve this beautiful XJ Coupe. Enjoy the journey. I'm looking forward to seeing you progress through this project to keep[ these wonderful cars alive. Here I was, thinking I had the only rust-free example!
Mid 1970's Jaguar-Daimler advertising was all about "aspiration". As you saw with the full line brochure, it's a "lifestyle" they were selling. Perhaps the ultimate in Daimler advertising is 1975's "The Daimler Limousine is here, your excellency", a brochure for the DS420. Also worth looking for is the 1975 Daimler Sovereign brochure where the chauffer is removing the car cover on the "master's new car", a Daimler sedan.
Congratulations a wonderful car and the brochure is lovely. As a kid I lived near the dealership the salesman was happy to talk and give me brochures. The old colour codes are so interesting.
Congrats, Adam!!! My brother and I were given two cars, me a silver 1975 Mercedes 240D, and my brother got...a regency red with black top 1975 Jaguar XJ12 Coupe... Both were Corgi models (hah!), but even then I rather have had the Jaguar and felt there was a mistake made! The hood on the Jaguar opened forward, which impressed me, and I've loved the cars since. I satisfy my love with just one, but like you, I have my dream car. Your videos are always informational, and good luck with the 2024 endeavors!!!!
Congratulations on your XJ12-C! I've been working on Jaguars for nearly 25 years now, with more E-Types than I can remember coming through the shop and there's a beautiful '53 XK120 that I service yearly, but I've only had the pleasure of working on ONE XJ12-C that entire time. It's the only one I've ever seen in person, so yes - a rare car indeed. Glorious to drive, like any Series II or Series III sedan, but with a bit more sporting personality if you will. My personal dream car would be a 6 cylinder version with manual transmission, but here in the States I believe they're almost non-existent. Enjoy your car! It will be very happy with its new owner, I'm quite certain.
Great car looking forward to seeing more of it. As the owner of a Japanese S3 Daimler D6, I understand how nice it is to have something that isn't a patchwork of welding & paint.
I agree that they are a beautiful car. When these were new I worked with a gentleman whose wife had a Daimler XJ12C as her company car. She was the personal secretary to the Melbourne Jaguar distributor. It was a lovely car. Before this she had a Daimler 250 that had a Benz engine factory fitted as a celebration of Karl benz. I never found out what happened to that car.
Always, always preferred the XJC, over the XJS, personally thought the XJS looked like a tank after the E-Type, but the XJC looked perfect, just plus, it being a V12, IMHO.
When it comes to XJ-S, i really do like the early ones like the one I have but the XJC will always be the most beautiful car ever made in my eyes. And yes it has to be a V12!
Congratulations on get this awesome XJC, what a fantastic car, I love the interior, the colour is perfect. Also one of my dream cars, which I hope to have one at some point. My Dad and I are currently recommissioning an xj6 3.4, which has been sitting in a garage for the last 24 years. It actually looks very similar to yours. We’ve been documenting it on our RUclips channel. Really looking forward to seeing you work on this one. Regards Mark.
Hi Adam, from Sydney, Australia. I have always loved these, there were a pre-production pair sent to Sydney motor show back in 1973, a regency red 4.2 coupe and a turquoise V12 coupe. HOWEVER, they were finished as series one XJC's with the spectacular tall grill. I had just finished high school and was heading to uni in the new year. I was disappointed when they, Jaguar eventually launched the XJC's in late 1975 in Australia with the short series 2 grill. I was at uni' studying medicine to be a doctor and had a LHD '65 4.2ltr mk10 as my daily only affordable as it was LHD in an RHD country and soon all LHD cars in July '76 would be de-registered and put off Australian roads, so my mk10 was on borrowed time. However at last moment a scrappy Brit' import appeared cheaply in my lap. So my just retired industrial engineer granddad helped in the mid-year uni break to swap my "leftie" into being a "right-ie". I had it completed 2 weeks before the cutoff date. Having finished uni and gainfully employed by NSW Mental Healthcare, I had been saving like mad on a good wage to buy myself a 4.2 ltr XJC coupe, I wanted British racing green paint with biscuit color fabric interior. Then with the new federal budget, the federal government imposed a 44.75% import tax on luxury cars nearly but doubling the price, I WAS SO ANNOYED, they were then out of reach & soon to be gone with no series 3 version. I should have borrowed some cash and financed it before the fed's penalized the price .. SO, I bought what I thought at the time was the next best thing, but after 32 yrs of ownership, I feel the better built car, A super rare series 1 long wheelbase XJ6 in regency red with biscuit interior, had a mere 18,000miles on when I bought the car. Ordered by the Frenchman that ran/headed up Citra Constructions, that built natural gas pipelines across Australia in the early 1970's and all related infrastructure for the Federal government. Only 2,600 serries 1 LWB bodyshells were ever built, split Left drive/ right drive, 4.2 litre/ 5.3 litre, Jaguar/Daimler, you get down to just a couple of hundred of each, plus there were exactly 352 V12 5.3 litre Van Den Plas just ONE of these was LHD, for the US concessionaire as his personal car. Finally my own one was ordered and built as if it were a RHD 6 cylinder Van Den Plas with no vinyl roof, but fitted with ALL other Van Den Plas fittings, confounding people at car shows, however I had the order and build sheet, to prove factory genuine. After the 2 door XJC's had been on the road for a while many 2 door XJC's suffered badly with A pillar flex at both the top and bottom of the A pillar on front screen and this causing the smallest of cracks to appear lead to water coming into the car in small amounts, but causing a bad rust issue down the track and there can be nasty not visible rust growths upon the rear sill rails beneath the rear wind down windows too and nightmarish to fix as well. After 32years ownership I sold by XJ6L to a friend, as I had just purchased a one owner 50,025 mile original immaculate 1967 mk10/420G in the exact color combo as my original 1965 one near 40 years prior.
Very cool car, I’m following you closely as I’m looking after my ‘71 s3 e-type, I find the V12 a fascinating engine, but complex, mines not running too well atm, so I looking at you for inspiration 👍👍👋
Merry Christmas to you, Adam! Congratulations on finding your unicorn! That has to be very satisfying. You have many years ahead of you in life, so don’t rush it. Do it right.
Wow, no snow in Sweden, an early Christmas present, a Swedish dude who likes Brits cars more than Saabs and Volvos. What a wonderful world to be? Very good score, Adam. My problem with Jaguar is I like 'em all up too 1997 and more. Happy Holidays!
I totally agree with you, XJC is the most beautiful Jag. So cool to hear that this was your dream car. I have a few of the myself. Greetings from Norway
BTW your channel played a strong part in my decision to buy the red coupe. I had no idea, at the time, that you are friends - it’s a small and tight-knit Jaguar World!
Hi Adam, I recently bought a XJC V12 as well but mine is a 1976. It’s been sitting for 8 years so a project for me as well. Congrats and look forward to seeing more videos on this car.
Congrats! Would be interested to know in a future video how you came to acquire this car and what you know of its history. Also, mileage on it. Best of luck in going full time with RUclips and Jag repairs. Your videos are always so refreshingly honest and real.
Congrats Adam !! The video shows your emotion when you reveal the car, nice ! Your appoach is respecfull to the state of the car en your emotions to it. I am looking forward to the ressurection of this XJC V12 👍
Very nice. I have to agree that the Coupe is a stunning car. I'm very envious. A very happy Christmas to you and your family Adam and to everyone here.
Great car, look forward to seeing this one on the channel.i must admit that i have allways prefered the four door saloons tho.my 1968 s type has finally come back from the paintshop, after more than 2 years.still love your channel after atleast 3 years of watching you.
The carb’d XJ12Cs are super super rare. There was one in a field behind SNG Barratt in Manchester New Hampshire USA, along with a second XJ12C. I used to pull parts off them for my XJ12C (that was fuel injected). They’re long gone now. Someone gave me an engine-less XJ6C with a Series 1 front end and some Daimler parts. Going to smash it together with a rusted out XJS and make a Daimler Double Six Vanden Plas Series 1 Coupe… a car that doesn’t really exist but can with all OEM parts. Should be fun! And Expensive! Good luck on opening a Jaguar shop.
Wow Adam! Brilliant. I can hear how pleased you are. Very astute move and I can't wait until you start! Exciting times ahead. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Hi Adam, what a fantastic buy for you! I don't know if you are aware or have seen 'Harry's Garage ' on RUclips, but he bought an XJ Coupe and his video may give you some good hints/tips. Happy Christmas to you and your family!
Well done! You are gradually building a beautiful collection of the best Jags! Just need a Mark 10 now……😬! All the best to you and your family for Christmas and the New Year! Exciting times!
Well Adam, you held that suspense over me, I was on the edge of my seat, was it a Jag, XK120, 140 or 150, they are really beautiful, or an XKE, you already have the XJ6 and an XJ12, but when you showed the brochure, it was an, oh yah, from me. I wonder if you daughter will like it better than the XJ6, my bet is nope. LOL. Well done, you deserve that beautiful XJC V12 carbed edition.
Yes its great to own your dream car . Looking forward to your future projects . I never have the issue of dry storage living in Yuma , AZ where its dry 350 days a year . While I own a HE car I still enjoy the older cars .
Well done, I'm delighted you have made your dream come true. I agree with you, I have personally owned a V12 E Type FHC, but the car to have is the XJ12C, they are simply the best and hard to find here in the UK. I'm looking forward to see this come out of hibernation 🙂
Greetings from down under I also love the 12c I have 2 one I have just finished and one I am starting which is in a bad way both Australian delivered as I do all the work myself I find your channel invaluable keep up the great work
I'm sure you are aware but Harry's Garage did a restoration on an XJC. Hopefully you can avoid one or two of the problems Harry encountered. Good luck.
Really looking forward to the recommissioning. Any type of Series 2 XJ12 was my childhood dream car. I had a sedan in the early 1990s, but didn’t have the skills to repair it, even though I did try very hard.
Yes I have, may try that. Will look into the tanks and see how they are. Otherwise I may actually just go for new ones. It is a real pain if you get dirt in 4 carbs that are a pain to remove on these.
Merry Christmas to you and your family Adam. What a lovely XJ12-C, the navy-blue leather interior is fabulous and the body amazingly clean. Even under the bonnet looks clean. A sympathetic restoration sounds great-will be thrilled to see your progress once you get going. Best of luck with your business for the New Year.
What a fantastic Christmas présent ! I just bought my xjc v12 (injection) in september but it will also work out for Xmas What chassis number if I may ask ?
Beautiful Jag! Jaguar makes the most beautiful cars there are. I followed your channel since the beginning. Awesome channel! Personally I think Jaguar has made the most beautiful cars ever made and in no particular order are in my opinion of course the Jaguar E-type, the 1990 jaguar XJS convertible or similar year. The pre-HE jaguar XJS and of course the XJ 12 coupe like here on this episode. You pretty much have all four already don't you? Just need that E-type Adam. Exceptional collection. And yes take your time with this beauty. Like a fine wine. No need to rush somethings so damn awesome and cool.
This was also the only modern car Patrick Macnee had as John Steed on THE NEW AVENGERS, but his was dark blue and not used enough on \the show. The actual car was apparently found and restored recently.
I agree, possibly my favourite looking Jaguar too. All my hero’s whether it be cars , sports personalities, , music all seem to come from my teenage years in the 1970s. The Jaguar brochures of the time all seem to depict this affluent lifestyle and the fuzzy/ hazy photography , the Mk1 XJS brochure was the same. Your new purchase looks great. Merry Christmas
Congratulations on finding the ultra rare Coupe! I wonder how many were made. it can't be the actual car from the brochure? Good look with the new adventures!
Hey Adam, thanks for this. What is the BRG facelift XJS alongside the XJC? Is it an XJRS? From the wheels it looks like to could be. I had a Flamenco red XJRS and sadly moved it on some years ago. One of my big life regrets.
My dear husband Chris (he died a year ago) was a Jaguar enthusiast who watched your videos Adam. He always rated the pre HE highly. Particularly the V12. I absorbed a lot of his knowledge but wish I had half his genius in the garage. Enjoy your new motor.

I'm lucky that it's completely rust free and all original.
When I was a mechanic this was my favourite engine to tune! The customer would bring it in running like 💩 and I would send it back out running like a sowing machine.
That is probably one of the reason I really like them too. They never seem to be set up right and when you tune them they run great
Merry Christmas to you. Your videos are a real service to the Jaguar community and much needed inspiration and motivation to myself. As for your coupe - I have never seen a rust free version in it original state never! - it’s not only rare - it’s a miracle. All the best for you and your enterprise in 2024.
Dark blue interior, that’s the dogs bollocks and carbs as well. How nice can it get? What a beauty.
Congratulations! I just got my 75 XJ12C running after sitting 20 years. Your channel helped a lot in getting it going. Thanks!
I totally agree with you, they are incredible.. Congrats..
Yes they are! I have loved them since I was a small kid
Adam, Im glad for you. Great to see you have acquired your dream car, but more over that you are going to start your own full time classic car repair shop. Thank you for sticking around. It wasn’t my plan either when I started the channel but it slowly turned into what it is now over the years.
What a great find Adam, really pleased for you. I love original cars. Whenever I go to a classic car show, I get and admire the fully restored cars, but I absolutely adore the original cars with warts and all. As the saying goes, “ there only original once”.

I have to agree with you, this is one of the best looking cars full stop. Harry Metcalfe's car is probably my favourite car on RUclips. Amazing.
Yes his is great
For someone so dedicated to these cars, I think we can all relate to how pleased you must be with it.
Those surface rust spots in the paint can be rubbed with a lemon then rinsed. Works wonders!
Congratulations a wonderful car and the brochure is lovely. As a kid I lived near the dealership the salesman was happy to talk and give me brochures. The old colour codes are so interesting.
Very cool!
Its great you got your dream car and we will be able to come on the recommissioning journey with you.
I am in full agreement. My favourite Jag too.
Congrats, Adam!!! My brother and I were given two cars, me a silver 1975 Mercedes 240D, and my brother got...a regency red with black top 1975 Jaguar XJ12 Coupe... Lovely beast.
Harry Metcalf did one up.
A very pretty car

What an XMAS present! BRAVO = a Beauty!
One sweet ride, Adam! Get that Jag back on the road this spring! God Jul to you and your family!

Well done. Also my favourite Jaguar car, the 2 door coupe V12.
Looks cold there mate. Nice car can't wait to see it running.
Good luck with that absolute beast of a classic
Merry Christmas, one and all. Love the Coupe!
Oh my, ive just gone green with envy! What a fabulous find, and in wonderful condition. Cant wait to see more 😊
I'm glad you like it!
Wow Adam, congratulations on your awesome find. Well done! She'll look fantastic with some TLC.
Excellent project.
What an XMAS present! BRAVO = a Beauty! Dark blue interior. OMG, the exterior for me should be Baby Blue metallic with this interior!
Yes I do love the blue interior! It is nice since my other white V12 has a black interior.
Congratulations on get this awesome XJC, what a fantastic car, I love the interior, the colour is perfect. Also one of my dream cars, which I hope to have one at some point.

BTW, WHERE did you find it in such a well preserved condition? In what country was it located? Was kept in a giant ziplock bag with desiccants?
I worked on these Cars in the early 80s when you opened the door I swear I could smell that car.
Does have a great smell

They’re great
Great find Adam! Once you get it running let's have an international meet of XJ12C owners, i'll be in..
That would be a great idea!
Definitely!!! I want to see videos on this amazing XJ12C project car from Tom!
Did you buy the red coupe from Tom?
@@LivingWithAClassic Yes, and excited to drive it
BTW your channel played a strong part in my decision to buy the red coupe. I had no idea, at the time, that you are friends - it’s a small and tight-knit Jaguar World!

Great find Adam! Looking forward to future videos on it.
Thank you!
Used to know a guy who had several XJCs, I know at least some were V12s.
Merry Christmas, Adam, nice present.

Yes they are very rare. Sounds like a great project!
Wow Adam!
Congratulations on getting your dream car!
Thank you!
Nice Christmas gift! Hope we'll see this car in shiny condition on the road making You smile like a child! ^_^
That V12 was designed to be super strong and balanced by the best engineers of that time.
gorgeous. I approve of this dream car
Well done! You are gradually building a beautiful collection of the best Jags! Just need a Mark 10 now……😬!
All the best to you and your family for Christmas and the New Year!
Exciting times!
Merry chrismas, too you too, thanks for the video, nice car.
Congratulations - that’s one of my dream cars too (after the pre-HE XJS)……..looks beautiful!
Yes its great to own your dream car . Looking forward to your future projects . I never have the issue of dry storage living in Yuma , AZ where its dry 350 days a year . While I own a HE car I still enjoy the older cars .
Wish we had it that dry here!
Wow love the V12 coupe
Me too!
Well done, I'm delighted you have made your dream come true. I agree with you, I have personally owned a V12 E Type FHC, but the car to have is the XJ12C, they are simply the best and hard to find here in the UK. I'm looking forward to see this come out of hibernation 🙂
Greetings from down under
I also love the 12c I have 2 one I have just finished and one I am starting which is in a bad way both Australian delivered as I do all the work myself I find your channel invaluable keep up the great work
Good luck with your cars!
I'm sure you are aware but Harry's Garage did a restoration on an XJC. Hopefully you can avoid one or two of the problems Harry encountered. Good luck.
Very cool! If you can find a V12 E Type manual gearbox, it will fit right up. I have one in a S2 XJ12. We will be watching! Thanks, Rob
I’m making my early XJ-S manual but this one will stay all original
Really looking forward to the recommissioning. Any type of Series 2 XJ12 was my childhood dream car. I had a sedan in the early 1990s, but didn’t have the skills to repair it, even though I did try very hard.
They're great cars any series 2 V12
Congratulations! Well done Adam to purchase your dream car. Looking forward to upcoming videos. 👍🇦🇺
Love that dream car. Lucky you and lucky us!
I adore the oval yellow gold cat head steering wheel badge
They're very cool
Most excellent! Have you seen the video on removing rust from tanks using electrolysis by TJM The Jag Man?
Yes I have, may try that. Will look into the tanks and see how they are. Otherwise I may actually just go for new ones. It is a real pain if you get dirt in 4 carbs that are a pain to remove on these.
Merry Christmas to you and your family Adam. What a lovely XJ12-C, the navy-blue leather interior is fabulous and the body amazingly clean. Even under the bonnet looks clean. A sympathetic restoration sounds great-will be thrilled to see your progress once you get going. Best of luck with your business for the New Year.
Congratulations, Adam!
My C is my favourite
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you too!
Don’t wait. Start now. 😊
I'm very tempted
What a fantastic Christmas présent ! I just bought my xjc v12 (injection) in september but it will also work out for Xmas What chassis number if I may ask ?
Congrats on finding your dream car. Will be a good series once you get to it
Thank you!
Have a lovely Christmas 🎄
You too!
Lovely car Adam, they look like Daimler seats maybe an option, or standard on export models, enjoy.
Thanks! V12s often came with the nicer seats.
This was also the only modern car Patrick Macnee had as John Steed on THE NEW AVENGERS, but his was dark blue and not used enough on \the show. The actual car was apparently found and restored recently.
What a beautiful car :-0) looking forward to seeing you getting it back t its former glory. Best, Steve in the uk 🇬🇧
I'm the same that all my favorite things are from the 70's.even if i'm born in '91.
Very nice, hard to find one with a good body well done.
Thank you!
Congrats..love the content!!
Thank you!
Great content, happy Christmas from the UK.👋👍
Same to you!
Congratulations on finding the ultra rare Coupe! I wonder how many were made. it can't be the actual car from the brochure? Good look with the new adventures!
It seems to be somewhere between 25-32 made, not 100% sure yet.
Congrats!
Thank you!
Hey Adam, thanks for this. What is the BRG facelift XJS alongside the XJC? Is it an XJRS? From the wheels it looks like to could be. I had a Flamenco red XJRS and sadly moved it on some years ago. One of my big life regrets.
The rarest of them all and is just badged as a Vanden Plas double six. the most luxurious version ever built.
Well yes and no, the carbed ones are actually rarer.
