  • Advanced F2L is great for turning really difficult/inefficient F2L pairs into really great cases, but if you're not careful, you'll end up learning Advanced F2L algorithms that aren't actually worth it to use in solves. In order to fix that, I'm going to show you 8 AWESOME Advanced F2L cases that I think are absolutely worth it, and when/how to use them in F2L.

    For case number 2, I just want to point out that F (U R U' R') F' is the same algorithm as Fw (R U R' U') Fw' if the upper layer is rotated 180. It allows you to solve this scenario in the back left slot really easily without cube rotation.

    1. 1:05 a more move efficient solution is f R' f' (you could also do R' F' U' F R)
    2. 4:14 the solution he showed is really good but for back slot you should do U R U' R' U S R' S' and from the front, you should do U' L F' L2 U L U2 F
    also I recommend learning all these cases as they are just so helpful, awesome video brody!

    The first one is a roux insert and that’s why you should at least understand roux,, blind commutators, and 4x4 pll parity tricks. Understanding these could help you come up with new, creative solutions that could make that much more efficient. I personally use parity tricks and a couple commutators.

    6:44 - 7:58 It's a pretty bad case.
    ➡️ You showed a very optimal solution.
    ➡️ And you also showed to solve it from almost every angle.
    ➡️ It's a trick that will definitely save us a good amt. of time during F2L.

    1:04 I feel like this insert would be best during last 2 pairs, since at that stage you would have had a glimpse at all the remaining pieces + a general idea of how they will be influenced. I think the lack of cube rotations here can be bad in some scenarios where cube rotation would give you a better idea of where the remaining pieces are. This could also be really good for the second pair,when one of the back slots is solved, so you can have all the pieces in front. Great tips and techniques as always Brody! Hope to see some more in the future!

    Question: At your level of cubing, does COLL become less and less useful as you learn more 2GLL and ZBLL algorithms?

    • @BrodytheCuber
      @BrodytheCuber  4 года назад +1

      It's not that it becomes less useful, it's that you'll use it less often as you learn more ZBLLs. COLL is honestly an in-between for OLL and ZBLL, but that doesn't mean that it isn't super useful.
