I love her, but thing is I once compiled a list of detailed evidence that increased her chances the more I thought about them both major and minor. Seriously I right now don't have anything that would say anything about her not joining the crew.
She needs an actual character arc for it to make sense for her to become a straw hat. For not it's just "I'm strong, I knew ace, I'll be your oden, I'm hot", and it would water down the crew if anything.
@Sorthen Daniel Technically, but luffy hasn't confirmed and she hasn't set sail with them yet. Either way everything I said still stands, she's not a strong character.
I can't think of a role for yamato. people say she'll be the logkeeper, but: each role is filled by someone who is passionate about their skill and have considerable expertise in it. jinbei's helmsman skill was showcased when he steered that stolen ship to marineford. yamato treats oden's log like her bible, but she has never shown an iota of interest or skill in writing anything herself. not once. besides, I'm pretty sure robin would be a better writer since she's read countless historical records and is, you know, actually intelligent. robin will record her own journey, thus creating her own, unaltered, record of history for future generations to discover.
I'm super late to this but I love Yamato. Her as a part of the strawhat crew would just fit. She wants to explore life outside of Wano & her ties to Ace mentioning Luffy as his brother just makes since. I just hope she doesn't get nerfed in these final years of One Piece that we have.
I definitely think her fate going forward will become more clear the more clarity we get about Joy Boy, with Momo not even wanting to open Wano's borders right away despite Oden having wanted that for Joy Boy.
The latest chapter has definitely raised a lot of questions for how this arc is going to end for me. Momo deciding to keep the borders closed is really fishy especially since we just won the war so what is plan I wonder
Manga spoilers‼️ So what I think is that momo is gonna join the crew like oden joined roger and his sister is gonna be the shogun until momo returns and keep in mind that right now momo is an adult or at least has a body of an adult so it won’t be a kid joining the crew I think after reading his fathers journal he got the idea
I’ve seen people say this and I can’t 100% refute it since there are aspects of that theory that make sense to me. But I do wanna push back on that by saying I feel like the “adventure” portion of Momo’s story is over and he is needed to rebuild Wano. Oden left because that was his goal. The goal of the Samurai and Momo was to bring the country back to what it needs to be. He’s needed in Wano and will be needed there for the rebuild. Yamato is much more like Oden in the sense of her need to explore plus her overwhelming strength
I really like Yamato but for next Straw Hat, I got Tama and King over her. Not because it makes sense but because I like shinobi (Tama) and black characters (King) Yamato>Carrot fasho tho. Dope vid Johnny🔥

It would be outside a majority of people’s predictions and there’s more left to be explored with the lunarians. Tama makes less than Yamato as well, but my hopes is that we get all three of them, Yamato, Tama and Carrot. I’m just happy we getting close to the end of Wano. I gotta know if my boy Buggy made it out

What a beautiful summary of her character origins & why she would be a great straw hat with her monster strength & magnetic personality. I honestly think it would be a waste not to make her a Strawhat, what better way for her to experience freedom she’s always desired and enjoy the vast sea whist also aiding the future pirate king just like oden!

Oden just HAPPENS to be a man and that's why she refers to herself as a man. Hence, SON of Kaido. If Oden was a woman, Yamato wouldn't refer to herself as a man
