I believe Yamato will officially be known as the Quartermaster of the Straw Hat Pirates. A person who handles journals and documents every treasure that is looted on the voyage. Since she already carries Oden's journal, she is perfect for this job.
I think Sanji is actually more suited to the role of quartermaster, since he already keeps the ship's inventory Really, if Yamato were to really take on the role of Oden for the strawhats and also put her knowledge of the journal to use, she would be the ship's Chronicler.
im a bit late cause this was like a year ago but i'm pretty sure they did that to make sure that the three strongest of the straw hats are still luffy zoro and sanji. right now yamato is stronger than zoro which would disturb the power creep, i believe this because it's the same reason jinbei only joined during wano. because if jinbei joined during somewhere like fishman island, he'd be stronger than luffy and if he joined during whole cake island he'd be stronger than zoro, so he joined during wano/onigashima because in that arc, zoro got enma and got stronger and sanji awakened his germa powers which made them stronger than jinbei. i believe yamato will join in a future arc as the 10th straw hat member when zoro and sanji get stronger than her
I have a strong feeling that Yamato is going to be the journal/story keeper for the Straw Hat Pirates. Much like Oden did for both the Whitebeard and Roger Pirates.
Doesn't make much sense to me since she'd be joining the adventure 1,050+ chapters deep and would have missed out firsthand on the majority of the Strawhats' adventures.
3:52 THISSS!!! There’s something about her joining the crew that’s both exciting but almost nostalgic at the same time! It really does remind me of pre-time skip. I love Jinbei but it took such a long time for him to finally join up with them, and by the time he does, he is already a familiar figure to them. Yamato joining brings about new excitement and possibilities in terms of their dynamic as a crew.
Yamato stopping her declare herself as Oden could kind of be the New World version of Usopp realizing he does not be Sogeking. The things he did and stood for as Sogeking are all things he can do as himself.
Already can imagine her dynamic with luffy usopp and chopper. While she is surprisingly also have a good dynamic with every single straw hat just because her character design alone. But the comedy skit she'll have with all the crew is something I just can't wait to savour for the rest of this beautiful journey

I've always had a feeling that Yamato would possibly join the crew and the thing is, it was mainly due to the fact that in some ways something about her character felt a little familiar. At one point I went back through the series to try and find out why and the whole thing clicked for me it's the Straw Hats. Think about it personality wise she has a giddy and curios nature like Ussop and Chopper such as when she saw General Franky for the first time. Backstories wise she had more in common with the girls who had ties to the enemy captain of the crew Nami with Arlong and Robin with Crocodile, but it was also combined with Ussop and Franky who were the children of pirates. Introduction wise was similar to Sanji and Brook who either chose to stay in one place out of a sense of duty or because they had no choice in this case both. There were also some other minor details that helped to in regarding age, fighting style, devil fruit type and also just the fact that she's semi human. If you find that odd for me to say it was mainly because most of the crew was made up of 1 half normal humans and 1 half semi humans.
I fell in love with Yamato right away, everything about her was done great by Oda. She's funny, cute, powerful, naive/innocent, brave and has so much potential for growth and character development. I can't wait to see interactions between her and the rest of the crew.

She doesn't know anything about the world except for Odens journal and what Ace told her and she was excited to learn everything he told her. Yamato's addition to the Straw Hats is going to make me actually look forward to the Post Wano Filler Arc the Anime will most likely be doing. It's going to be enjoying watching her and Jimbei hang out with with everyone in the crew as actual members.
As a fellow Yamato enthusiast since day 1, I can wholeheartedly agree it's been a LONG time coming. I truly can't wait the glorious shenanigans, hilarious tidbits and awesome battles to follow with the new SH member on board!
I really hope she joins the SH too, however, HOT TAKE TIME, I feel like this might be the first time Luffy refuses a request to join him. She wants to be Oden, so perhaps Luffy thinks she should stay with Momo, at least until wano has been fully opened
EXACTLY!!! Thank you so much for saying what I’ve always thought. I believe that Yamato will have to accept herself, and more than that in no way as far as I can remember she referred to herself as a male/in a masculine way/pronoun. Unlike Kiki, she never said anything about being a man or whatever. So I think her character development will be more about exploring herself as much as exploring the world, and finding who she really is. Having a role model doesn’t mean becoming THE role model themselves, but learning from their mistakes and their knowledge/experience. And I do hope Oda gives Yamato that much experience and development as the first female character with physical strength, aside from Big Mom ofc.
Just finished one piece and all I can say is that that was a trip (Also I personally think luffys not going to let Oden on the ship, he's probably going to say that he wants Yamato instead.)
After I read this I am pretty sure luffy will say this to her. it'll be a odd style twist. sort of what they asked of Robin when they asked what she wants. luffy will say he doesn't want oden but yamato to join the crew.
I have been so hyped for this, and personally believe that Yamato could have an amazing arc of finding who she really is. That could be a guy, that could be a girl, or something else but it could allow for her to really shine as a character. That development is something that could really sort of mirror Robin in the fact that robin didn't really know why she was alive, but through her adventures with the crew, she learned what she really wanted to do which was in her case to live (with the Straw hats). Also thanks for bringing us all of this amazing content. I'm sure that so many of us in the one piece community really appreciate and enjoy your (and other channels such as Grand Line Review or tekking101 etc.) as a way to explore the one piece world and expand our imagination. I remember when people would argue over who should be the next straw hat Yamato or Carrot. And honestly for me I wouldn't mind if they both joined, back then and now since both we liked by the crew. And I think carrot could be useful for the crew.
I like carrot in the whole cake, and Yamamoto in Wano carrot did want to go out to sea just like Pedro. I'm skeptical if she will leave the minks but she would be a new race and a none devil fruit user with her own fighting style.
@@truffle6082 I can understand that but I do think she will be a full member before the series ends. My reasoning comes from the fact that we still don't know what happened to Sabo or Vivi. I think they both survived and that Sabo saved Vivi in some way and they were sent flying away by Kuma who didn't want to hurt or kill sabo. I also think the World Government made it look like both died in the incident that even Morgans couldn't pick up on it. I think luffy will save both Sabo and Vivi from where ever they are leading to Sabo going back the the Revolutionary Army and Vivi joining the Straw Hats.
We realy need two or three chapters with the straw hats just being together and see their dynamic Yamato AND jimbey are both new to the crew/the audience
Yamato and Luffy are just beginning to understand their mythical zoans, separately they are on different progressions of their devil fruit journey. But together their is a lot of new moves and abilitys that will probably be introduced to us in fights at Elbaf, Mariejo etc.. Super pumped for those reveals!

I have a strong feeling according to Jinbe's comment and the fact that Yamato declared becoming a Straw hat by herself, that it's actually another trick from Oda, and Luffy himself will reject her joining the crew, maybe asking her to stay and defend Wano and Momo from the government for example. This is highly unlikely to happen, but still feels different compared to the other Straw hats joining the crew.
Eh, maybe all I know is that it’s not official. I don’t really see Luffy rejecting her but I definitely have some doubts about her joining. It was clearly stated that Zoro and Sanji are the wings of the pirate king so how will Yamato with her strenght change the dynamic. I guess Zoro and Sanji could just become exponentially stronger the next arc because I don’t see Oda changing the monster trio. We can see clear parallels to Rogers crew with Rayleigh and Gaban.
For me, the argument that everyone brings about Yamato that he has to stay in Wano on behalf of Luffy makes no sense, it is not in Luffy character to prevent a person from realizing his dream especially after Yamato has made it explicit to him (and leaving Wano is her dream not of the character she is playing “Oden” so do not make this mistake) so there are only 2 ways in which the situation can go 1 Yamato creates a crew of his own 2 joining in the Mugiwara.

So nothing new here. The straw hats will surpass Roger’s crew so Sanji and Zoro will definitely become way stronger

I think Jinbei and Yamato joining in the same arc (physically) is great writing from Oda's part. Jinbei is more on the Nami & Robin side since he acts as a grown up and is now the most mature male on the crew. On the other hand Yamato is a child in heart and brings something new to the female part of the crew. She would be like a female Luffy as I see it at the moment
My thoughts are that Luffy will reject oden joining the crew but will want Yamato to join. He wants his crew members to be true to themselves and for years Yamato has been living through Oden's journal and doing everything in his name as him so to speak. Luffy will want Yamato to start living as themselves and not as Oden and embrace who they are if they want to move forward
Yamato joining was one of the outcomes I wanted... but I'm still holding out hope for Carrot joining. We've got until we leave Wano to get her onto the crew as well. I want my Rabbit Lookout dammit!
I'm right there with you, and I still think there's a high likelihood of both joining. With the parallels between Whiteboard and Luffy being made, having Luffy either present her with a challenge (like maybe "accepting yourself") before allowing her onboard would be likely, and then, like Inu and Neko before her, Carrot stows away again before officially asking or being invited.
I would like Yamato to be part of the crew but she would be poison to the story since she read "ODEN'S Journal ".... She has tons of insight on what the one piece might be... Anyone else thinking about this???????????
They have the spirit and nothing holds them back to stay on wano, I love their character so it would be a big plus for me and as you said they are pretty fresh to the world. The writting could really use some of the old adventure spirit back from before marineford.
Apparently there is a 1 week time ship in 1052 and Yamato is already part of the Crew. There is supposed to be a funny scene where she is with the boys getting undressed and has no shame in front of them because she considers herself a Man.

Yamato being a woman, besides the reasons stated in the video which i have been saying from the very begining, was confirmed in the Vivre cards... it was stated that yamato was a woman and kiku was a woman (at heart) too (literally the parenthesis at heart included)... Izo on the other hand is stated to be a man not a woman... It is canon, but it is not impossible for Oda to change it though to be fair... Link to those pages in the replies first row of data is genders circled in red for yamato... Both izo and kiku belong to a family of artists (don't remember the exact name) where the males are taught the ways of the art from a woman's perspective (from the times that only men could perform) but Kiku embraced her femininity while izo did not... He just kept it as an art form... Also this one is not proof but thought to mention it... the mask yamato wears on her first appearance and as a kid is a female demon mask, a Hannya...
Honestly I never really saw her as a man because she said it I mean it wasn't like kiku where for the entire time we thought she was a woman but then she turns out to be to use what she said a woman (at heart) which when I found out I was shocked but I was like okay this makes sense The more the story progresses but with Yamato The more I read the more I was unconvinced and that I was more convinced that this was more of an identity crisis instead of to reverse it a man (at heart) and that would make more sense cuz that would make it a flaw and that would be something that she would have to overcome and try to let go because she's not shackled anymore she doesn't need to pretend to be the freeest man in the world because now she's the freeest woman in the world but to be fair just like you said Oda could change that and this is what he was originally going with but based off the evidence that makes more sense to me at least

He calls Law Tra-Guy, instead of Kidd he says Jaggy, Bartomelo as crest-head (I could be wrong), Doflamingo as Mingo (except for that one time he called him by his first name), Brulee as Branch, etc.
I had a crazy idea while watching this video that Kaido specifically raised Yamato to join Joy Boy’s crew. Kaido said to King that Joy Boy is the person that’ll be able to defeat him. If Kaido truly believes Joy Boy is coming, which I think it’s very clear he does (especially with his knowledge of the poneglyphs and void century), then he would want to help him. I mean Kaido started off w/ good intentions and at some point along the way he realized he’s not the hero the world is waiting for. One of the big questions w Yamato is why did Kaido raise her and keep her on Wano? Kaido knew Joy Boy would come to liberate it and defeat him. He needed to test Luffy. And, he raised Yamato to be a better version of himself that’s worthy to join Joy Boy’s crew. This may be giving Kaido too much credit, but he knows he’s a bad person. He knows he’s the antithesis of Joy Boy, but that’s not who he wanted to be. Idk it’s at least interesting to think about

I like that now Luffy has a third top fighter in the crew, because all Yonkos have 3 of those and now that Luffy more or less is kinda on the Yonko level, it is expected. Also I like that Kaido lost not by being overwhelmed by Luffy's strength, but rather by his decision to tank his attack, it fits the theme of the Yonkos thinking too high of themselves and not taking their enemies seriously to the last moment.
Yamato really is very similar to Luffy. I personally thought she was like a combination of Zoro and Chopper. Zoro's determination, strength, sense of honor/respect, and Choppers gullable and charming loveable personality.

Everybody's stronger in their own arcs. These people attempting to power scale with One-Piece characters are playing a dangerous game. Devil Fruit powers throw a lot of counters into the mix and it's just not straightforward at all. Apoo beat Luffy because Luffy wasn't expecting that ability. Doesn't mean he's stronger than Luffy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Side Note: Having Conqueror's Haki gives them a leg up on Sanji though, ngl. I'm curious if he's going to awaken Conqueror's eventually.
I'll be happy with either Carrot or Yamato. both would be awesome additions. but I feel pretty sure Oda had Yamato in his head before he even had the mink tribe worked out in his story.
Roger had kid apprentices on his ship so it wouldn't be unheard of. But I would be worried about having a young kid like Tama on board, I feel like she would be taken hostage or put in danger a lot. Maybe if Horselina came w her to protect her I'd feel a bit better.
Maybe when Luffy's also in his 30s like Roger he'll get some apprentices but right now it just doesn't seem right to have some kids taking care of other kids
If Otama would join then Horselina, the scorpion guy, and the gazelle guy would join the SH crew since those former beast pirates already have bonded with Otama

i have a small theory: Catarina devon has the kitsune fruit. and they say that "Kitsune can also be exposed while in human form by their fear and hatred of dogs, and some become so rattled by their presence that they revert to the form of a fox and flee." so my idea is that yamato who has a mythical dog fruit. both are from japanese mythology. and yamato is the only one i can see who can realistically take on catarina devon power wise. (robin is nice and all but we never saw take on anyone with haki)
Many of us already expected Devon to fight Yamato. Now that I know about the kitsuni fear of dogs thing now I'm even more certain of that inevitable fight.
I have an even better theory. Her end of series match will be with Zombie Kaido. BB will somehow get Kaido and have Moria turn him into a Zombie for BB to use. Then Yamato will need to defeat her own father and save him from the disgrace of being a puppet.
Everything is pointing out that Yamato will be the next Straw hat. But I am not that convinced. I truly believe it could be Carrot. She also wanted to see the world and she has already travelled with them, she is competent as a fighter, she already has amazing chemistry with the crew and she also has a position on the ship being the lookout. The only thing she doesn't have is a tragic backstory. Some argue that Pedro's death is her tragic background and we simply saw it live and not on a flashback but I don't know, it doesn't have the same umf as other tragic backstories. Yamato now on the other hand seems TOO perfect of a fit. She was liberated from Luffy (literally since he broke her chains), she is an amazing fighter (arguably as strong or stronger than Zoro judging by her fight with Kaido), she has a really tragic backstory and she has expressed her desire to join them. My problems with her joining the crew? Even though Carrot didn't actually shine in Wano she already has really great chemistry with the crew and she is someone who could fight but not outshine the most prominent fighters (namely the monster trio who somehow even the inclusion of Jimbei didn't change that format). Yamato is too strong and she knows way too much to simply join. She will know more about Luffy and his true dream (none of the other strawhats know of that dream's existence actually) and she is way stronger than Sanji if not Zoro as well. Maybe I'm just being somewhat close minded but having someone join the crew at the end and overshadowing anyone and everyone that we have spent so much time feels a little bit of unfair. I believe the perfect place for Yamato right now is not aboard the Thousand Sunny...but being a part (maybe even a spearhead) of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. She takes command of the gifters that were turned (and will choose to help them in the future when they are no longer compelled to follow) and she takes to the seas on her own vowing to come to Luffy's aid whenever he might desire. Also, as a last detail, I really believe would ruin the moment a bit if there are two new members during Jimbei's toast. But that is true for either Yamato or Carrot.

I agree with the chemistry part. I just hope we have a lot of straw hat interaction with Yamato. Yamato and robin have similar identity issues. Yamato is a weapon user and so Ussop can upgrade her. Jinbe can give her some wisdom and discuss fishmen/wano politics with her. Can’t wait to see a dope panel of Chopper and Yamato in their four legged df forms, zoro and Yamato can spar and train together, Brook can make some weird horn jokes, and Franky can introduce her to cola
seeing Mano describe how Yamato will mesh with each individual strawhat and the overall point of that in general gets me WAYYY too hype for Yamato joining

Yeah, when i've been reading the last chapter i was waiting for that reaction from you. Yamato stating she will join the strawhats. The arc is not yet finished for sure, there is still the problem of the marine going to wano that needs to be adressed and i don't think both kaido and big mom are dead. Also, don't forget jimbei in the strong strawhats. He tanked big mom attacks quite a few times during the whole cake arc. Honestly with zoro, jimbei and yamato being able to fight a yonko without flinching the strawhats are something. sanji didn't had his time to schine with a yonko but he could probably tank one too. Possibly not as well as the others mentionned, but that's fine. I can see a few franky fan claiming he could too but i'm not that affirmative.

@Monkey D Luffy in the strong starwhats, not the strongest strawhats. Please read carefully before interpreting. He clearly showed during the whole cake island arc that he was capable of holding his own against big mom for a while and several times. Which puts him in the upper half of the strawhats. Not saying he is stronger than the monstrer three, but he is fazr from being weak in term of fighting capabilities.
@Monkey D Luffy man, i wouldnt say Sanji are stronger than Jinbei. At least they are at the same level. Jinbei is strong at a whole different case, he is experienced, wiser fighter compared to Sanji. That alone could make a difference in the battlefield. But both of them doesnt get too much time to really shine imo
One suggestion: you should make a video on brook Dr cause now there are so many debates starting that brook can eat more than one df cause he is already dead but I disagree to this theory

Barely on topic, but I gotta say that I absolutely love Yamato's design, more specifically her vibrant color palette. Ever since I saw Yamato, I knew who I wanted to become the next member of the Straw Hats. This character just screams fun.
This is when I ask myself, was Oden a member of rogers crew or just a ride along? It would be really cool if the final crew member was a DF using Giant. 😱

Kaido was out of steam, even Yamato was saying Kaido was going to fall soon before their final clash. that why he faced Luffy attack head on with his Final move. Luffy won fair and Square. Heres a real question for if Luffy Yonko level.... do you think Luffy would need help to defeat Big Mom? IMO no Luffy would destroy Big Mom. Luffy is Yonko Level.

Actually it was obvious that Yamato will join the crew, according to the theory about joining to the straw hat crew. And this theory seems quite solid. Then in the Grand Line they meet Chopper to be tied up (as reindeer in the sleigh), Robin (woman) as enemy crew member, they meet Frenky while he is standing uphigh and Brook is a woman-obsessed pervert (panties). And here we are, New World. Jinbe is tied up (in chains). I know that Luffy met him in Grand Line but technically he had joint the crew just recently, before the reid it means - New World. And now, according to the theory, the next one to join the crew is a woman from enemy crew. And who would it be, i wonder?)
I disagree. the pattern of zoro/chopper, nami/robin were covered by Jinbe. Being tied up and working as an enemy crew. the next pattern will cover the usopp/franky, sanji/brook. the next nakama should be an inventor/craftsman and a pervert. the only thing comes to my mind is Kinemon. he's an inventor, he makes clothes using his DF and he's a pervert.
@@Ytramsle No. my pattern was there are only 2 members that will join in the new world. so the first member should take the pattern of zoro/chopper, nami/robin. my pattern on nami/robin is not that they are women. my pattern is that they work for an enemy before, nami on arlong, robin on crocodile and jinbe on bigmom. they joined strawhat but not really officially until resolving the isssue nami officiallly joined during arlong park, robin during enies lobby, jinbe during wholecake island arc.
I believe there is plenty of room for conflict between Nami and Yamato. As you said in the video, Yamato sends off a lot of pre timeskip vibes and is as impulsive as Luffy was / is. Given there are a lot of scenes where Nami scolds Luffy, I can see the same thing happening to Yamato.

I believe Yamato will officially be known as the Quartermaster of the Straw Hat Pirates. A person who handles journals and documents every treasure that is looted on the voyage. Since she already carries Oden's journal, she is perfect for this job.

im a bit late cause this was like a year ago but i'm pretty sure they did that to make sure that the three strongest of the straw hats are still luffy zoro and sanji. right now yamato is stronger than zoro which would disturb the power creep, i believe this because it's the same reason jinbei only joined during wano. because if jinbei joined during somewhere like fishman island, he'd be stronger than luffy and if he joined during whole cake island he'd be stronger than zoro, so he joined during wano/onigashima because in that arc, zoro got enma and got stronger and sanji awakened his germa powers which made them stronger than jinbei. i believe yamato will join in a future arc as the 10th straw hat member when zoro and sanji get stronger than her

I've always had a feeling that Yamato would possibly join the crew and the thing is, it was mainly due to the fact that in some ways something about her character felt a little familiar. At one point I went back through the series to try and find out why and the whole thing clicked for me it's the Straw Hats. Think about it personality wise she has a giddy and curios nature like Ussop and Chopper such as when she saw General Franky for the first time. Backstories wise she had more in common with the girls who had ties to the enemy captain of the crew Nami with Arlong and Robin with Crocodile, but it was also combined with Ussop and Franky who were the children of pirates. Introduction wise was similar to Sanji and Brook who either chose to stay in one place out of a sense of duty or because they had no choice in this case both. There were also some other minor details that helped to in regarding age, fighting style, devil fruit type and also just the fact that she's semi human. If you find that odd for me to say it was mainly because most of the crew was made up of 1 half normal humans and 1 half semi humans.

I fell in love with Yamato right away, everything about her was done great by Oda. She's funny, cute, powerful, naive/innocent, brave and has so much potential for growth and character development. I can't wait to see interactions between her and the rest of the crew.

EXACTLY!!! Thank you so much for saying what I’ve always thought. I believe that Yamato will have to accept herself, and more than that in no way as far as I can remember she referred to herself as a male/in a masculine way/pronoun. Unlike Kiki, she never said anything about being a man or whatever. So I think her character development will be more about exploring herself as much as exploring the world, and finding who she really is. Having a role model doesn’t mean becoming THE role model themselves, but learning from their mistakes and their knowledge/experience. And I do hope Oda gives Yamato that much experience and development as the first female character with physical strength, aside from Big Mom ofc.
Yamato being there could only unlock more answers to some mysteries. Oden's diary and Robin's knowledge could be a very important collaboration

After I read this I am pretty sure luffy will say this to her. it'll be a odd style twist. sort of what they asked of Robin when they asked what she wants. luffy will say he doesn't want oden but yamato to join the crew.
I have been so hyped for this, and personally believe that Yamato could have an amazing arc of finding who she really is. That could be a guy, that could be a girl, or something else but it could allow for her to really shine as a character. That development is something that could really sort of mirror Robin in the fact that robin didn't really know why she was alive, but through her adventures with the crew, she learned what she really wanted to do which was in her case to live (with the Straw hats).
Also thanks for bringing us all of this amazing content. I'm sure that so many of us in the one piece community really appreciate and enjoy your (and other channels such as Grand Line Review or tekking101 etc.) as a way to explore the one piece world and expand our imagination. Thanks for everything and we hope you keep up your amazing work.

@@truffle6082 I can understand that but I do think she will be a full member before the series ends. My reasoning comes from the fact that we still don't know what happened to Sabo or Vivi. I think they both survived and that Sabo saved Vivi in some way and they were sent flying away by Kuma who didn't want to hurt or kill sabo. I also think the World Government made it look like both died in the incident that even Morgans couldn't pick up on it. I think luffy will save both Sabo and Vivi from where ever they are leading to Sabo going back the the Revolutionary Army and Vivi joining the Straw Hats.

I have a strong feeling according to Jinbe's comment and the fact that Yamato declared becoming a Straw hat by herself, that it's actually another trick from Oda, and Luffy himself will reject her joining the crew, maybe asking her to stay and defend Wano and Momo from the government for example. This is highly unlikely to happen, but still feels different compared to the other Straw hats joining the crew.

Eh, maybe all I know is that it’s not official. I don’t really see Luffy rejecting her but I definitely have some doubts about her joining. It was clearly stated that Zoro and Sanji are the wings of the pirate king so how will Yamato with her strenght change the dynamic. I guess Zoro and Sanji could just become exponentially stronger the next arc because I don’t see Oda changing the monster trio. We can see clear parallels to Rogers crew with Rayleigh and Gaban.
For me, the argument that everyone brings about Yamato that he has to stay in Wano on behalf of Luffy makes no sense, it is not in Luffy character to prevent a person from realizing his dream especially after Yamato has made it explicit to him (and leaving Wano is her dream not of the character she is playing “Oden” so do not make this mistake) so there are only 2 ways in which the situation can go 1 Yamato creates a crew of his own 2 joining in the Mugiwara.

I think Jinbei and Yamato joining in the same arc (physically) is great writing from Oda's part. Jinbei is more on the Nami & Robin side since he acts as a grown up and is now the most mature male on the crew. On the other hand Yamato is a child in heart and brings something new to the female part of the crew. She would be like a female Luffy as I see it at the moment

My thoughts are that Luffy will reject oden joining the crew but will want Yamato to join. He wants his crew members to be true to themselves and for years Yamato has been living through Oden's journal and doing everything in his name as him so to speak. Yamato being a woman, besides the reasons stated in the video which i have been saying from the very begining, was confirmed in the Vivre cards... it was stated that yamato was a woman and kiku was a woman (at heart) too (literally the parenthesis at heart included)... Izo on the other hand is stated to be a man not a woman... It is canon, but it is not impossible for Oda to change it though to be fair... Link to those pages in the replies first row of data is genders circled in red for yamato...
Both izo and kiku belong to a family of artists (don't remember the exact name) where the males are taught the ways of the art from a woman's perspective (from the times that only men could perform) but Kiku embraced her femininity while izo did not... He just kept it as an art form...
Also this one is not proof but thought to mention it... the mask yamato wears on her first appearance and as a kid is a female demon mask, a Hannya...

I had a crazy idea while watching this video that Kaido specifically raised Yamato to join Joy Boy’s crew. Kaido said to King that Joy Boy is the person that’ll be able to defeat him. If Kaido truly believes Joy Boy is coming, which I think it’s very clear he does (especially with his knowledge of the poneglyphs and void century), then he would want to help him. I mean Kaido started off w/ good intentions and at some point along the way he realized he’s not the hero the world is waiting for. One of the big questions w Yamato is why did Kaido raise her and keep her on Wano? Kaido knew Joy Boy would come to liberate it and defeat him. He needed to test Luffy. And, he raised Yamato to be a better version of himself that’s worthy to join Joy Boy’s crew. This may be giving Kaido too much credit, but he knows he’s a bad person. He knows he’s the antithesis of Joy Boy, but that’s not who he wanted to be. Idk it’s at least interesting to think about

I can't imagine what Tama was thinking when Yamato made the declaration. Her expression is so blank, that it's hard to say if she had an opinion on it.
I like that now Luffy has a third top fighter in the crew, because all Yonkos have 3 of those and now that Luffy more or less is kinda on the Yonko level, it is expected.
Also I like that Kaido lost not by being overwhelmed by Luffy's strength, but rather by his decision to tank his attack, it fits the theme of the Yonkos thinking too high of themselves and not taking their enemies seriously to the last moment.
So... Jinbe doesn't count, I guess?

Yamato really is very similar to Luffy. I personally thought she was like a combination of Zoro and Chopper. Zoro's determination, strength, sense of honor/respect, and Choppers gullable and charming loveable personality.

These people attempting to power scale with One-Piece characters are playing a dangerous game. Devil Fruit powers throw a lot of counters into the mix and it's just not straightforward at all.

Roger had kid apprentices on his ship so it wouldn't be unheard of. But I would be worried about having a young kid like Tama on board, I feel like she would be taken hostage or put in danger a lot. Maybe if Horselina came w her to protect her I'd feel a bit better.
Maybe when Luffy's also in his 30s like Roger he'll get some apprentices but right now it just doesn't seem right to have some kids taking care of other kids

i have a small theory:

Many of us already expected Devon to fight Yamato. Now that I know about the kitsuni fear of dogs thing now I'm even more certain of that inevitable fight.
I have an even better theory. Her end of series match will be with Zombie Kaido. BB will somehow get Kaido and have Moria turn him into a Zombie for BB to use. Then Yamato will need to defeat her own father and save him from the disgrace of being a puppet.

Everything is pointing out that Yamato will be the next Straw hat. But I am not that convinced. I truly believe it could be Carrot. She also wanted to see the world and she has already travelled with them, she is competent as a fighter, she already has amazing chemistry with the crew and she also has a position on the ship being the lookout. The only thing she doesn't have is a tragic backstory. Some argue that Pedro's death is her tragic background and we simply saw it live and not on a flashback but I don't know, it doesn't have the same umf as other tragic backstories.
Yamato now on the other hand seems TOO perfect of a fit. She was liberated from Luffy (literally since he broke her chains), she is an amazing fighter (arguably as strong or stronger than Zoro judging by her fight with Kaido), she has a really tragic backstory and she has expressed her desire to join them.
My problems with her joining the crew? Even though Carrot didn't actually shine in Wano she already has really great chemistry with the crew and she is someone who could fight but not outshine the most prominent fighters (namely the monster trio who somehow even the inclusion of Jimbei didn't change that format). Yamato is too strong and she knows way too much to simply join. She will know more about Luffy and his true dream (none of the other strawhats know of that dream's existence actually) and she is way stronger than Sanji if not Zoro as well. Maybe I'm just being somewhat close minded but having someone join the crew at the end and overshadowing anyone and everyone that we have spent so much time feels a little bit of unfair.
I believe the perfect place for Yamato right now is not aboard the Thousand Sunny...but being a part (maybe even a spearhead) of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. She takes command of the gifters that were turned (and will choose to help them in the future when they are no longer compelled to follow) and she takes to the seas on her own vowing to come to Luffy's aid whenever he might desire.
Also, as a last detail, I really believe would ruin the moment a bit if there are two new members during Jimbei's toast. But that is true for either Yamato or Carrot.
What I'm excited the most is how Oda will choose Yamato's clothing. I can't be the only one right?

I agree with the chemistry part. I just hope we have a lot of straw hat interaction with Yamato. Yamato and robin have similar identity issues. Yamato is a weapon user and so Ussop can upgrade her. Jinbe can give her some wisdom and discuss fishmen/wano politics with her. Can’t wait to see a dope panel of Chopper and Yamato in their four legged df forms, zoro and Yamato can spar and train together, Brook can make some weird horn jokes, and Franky can introduce her to cola
seeing Mano describe how Yamato will mesh with each individual strawhat and the overall point of that in general gets me WAYYY too hype for Yamato joining

The arc is not yet finished for sure, there is still the problem of the marine going to wano that needs to be adressed and i don't think both kaido and big mom are dead.
Also, don't forget jimbei in the strong strawhats. He tanked big mom attacks quite a few times during the whole cake arc. Honestly with zoro, jimbei and yamato being able to fight a yonko without flinching the strawhats are something. sanji didn't had his time to schine with a yonko but he could probably tank one too. Possibly not as well as the others mentionned, but that's fine. I can see a few franky fan claiming he could too but i'm not that affirmative.

He clearly showed during the whole cake island arc that he was capable of holding his own against big mom for a while and several times. Which puts him in the upper half of the strawhats. Not saying he is stronger than the monstrer three, but he is fazr from being weak in term of fighting capabilities.

Jinbei is strong at a whole different case, he is experienced, wiser fighter compared to Sanji. That alone could make a difference in the battlefield.

Another thing that could add to Yamato joining is that blackboard has catrina Devon who also has mythical dog fruit and transforms. She can change her identity so if they were to fight it would have a theme around it.
I like that now Luffy can a third top fighter in the crew, because all Yonkos have 3 of those and now that Luffy more or less is kinda on the Yonko level, it is expected.
Also I like that Kaido lost not by being overwhelmed by Luffy's strength, but rather by his decision to tank his attack, it fits the theme of the Yonkos thinking too high of themselves and not taking their enemies seriously to the last moment.

Kaido was out of steam, even Yamato was saying Kaido was going to fall soon before their final clash. that why he faced Luffy attack head on with his Final move. Luffy won fair and Square. Heres a real question for if Luffy Yonko level.... do you think Luffy would need help to defeat Big Mom? IMO no Luffy would destroy Big Mom. Luffy is Yonko Level.

Actually it was obvious that Yamato will join the crew, according to the theory about joining to the straw hat crew. And this theory seems quite solid. Like, in the east blue Luffy finds Zoro to be tied up, Nami (woman) is from enemy crew, they meet Usopp while he's standing uphigh and Sanji is simply a women-obsessed pervert. Then in the Grand Line they meet Chopper to be tied up (as reindeer in the sleigh), Robin (woman) as enemy crew member, they meet Frenky while he is standing uphigh and Brook is a woman-obsessed pervert (panties). And here we are, New World. Jinbe is tied up (in chains). I know that Luffy met him in Grand Line but technically he had joint the crew just recently, before the reid it means - New World. And now, according to the theory, the next one to join the crew is a woman from enemy crew. And who would it be, i wonder?)

I disagree. the pattern of zoro/chopper, nami/robin were covered by Jinbe. Being tied up and working as an enemy crew. the next pattern will cover the usopp/franky, sanji/brook. the next nakama should be an inventor/craftsman and a pervert. the only thing comes to my mind is Kinemon. he's an inventor, he makes clothes using his DF and he's a pervert.

@@Ytramsle No. my pattern was there are only 2 members that will join in the new world. so the first member should take the pattern of zoro/chopper, nami/robin. my pattern on nami/robin is not that they are women. my pattern is that they work for an enemy before, nami on arlong, robin on crocodile and jinbe on bigmom. they joined strawhat but not really officially until resolving the isssue nami officiallly joined during arlong park, robin during enies lobby, jinbe during wholecake island arc.

I believe there is plenty of room for conflict between Nami and Yamato. As you said in the video, Yamato sends off a lot of pre timeskip vibes and is as impulsive as Luffy was / is.
Given there are a lot of scenes where Nami scolds Luffy, I can see the same thing happening to Yamato.
