Excellent game, I bought both, needless to say, after watching the first play through. Inexpensive and virtually endless choices. I'm still learning, but managed my first win Romans vs Macedonians on normal, after 5 attempts. Never gets stale. Cheers Colin.
Just thank you for another great playthrough. Although I never heard of this game before and at first glance did not want to buy it, after seeing your videos, I was immediately sold and bought both versions. So, thank you for that as well.
@@OneStopCoopShop Still haven't gotten my copy yet, but from watching from various sources... wildly different? Like, all the civs have slightly different goals, but the Arthurians just seem to be playing their own game within the same system. How do the Atlantians play? Maybe just do the grudge match the other way for next play (you as Atlantians vrs Arthurians?)
So far what are your top 5 for the year? Saw your previous top 5 video but Imperium might not have released then. Actually love your taste. Currently binging on your review playlist.
Ooo great question! I think the review you saw was Mike's not mine. I will be having a top 10 list for 2021 coming out in a week or two so stay tuned! Thanks so much for watching the channel!!
Just played this matchup solo today (my first try at Legends, have played Classics before). I wasn't as effective, but the bot got tons of progress tokens, reshuffled a lot and also got lots of 5p-cards. A disaster score wise, but a very fun matchup! And of course, very different from the classics matchups. Population and material tokens where not used at all really (except for Art).
i'm a bit of a late comer to these 2 games and kind of kicking myself for not adding them to my solo collection earlier, i had been looking for a civilization based game for a while and never had of thought i would find a really good one in a deck building format but here we are, easily one of my favourite games i have ever played and i have a pretty decently sized collection i've only played twice as well, still searching for that first win and then ill roll into the campaign mode so i am here to watch a few playthroughs to make sure i got the game down :)

@@OneStopCoopShop Saw it and liked it! But I meant Colin specifically...would be awesome if that's planned. EDIT: I see he's joined a different channel...hope he can do some there as well!
@@ybhandari yeah, he's at Meet Me at the Table now. And unfortunately, he didn't enjoy Horizons very much, and sold all of his Imperium stuff pretty quickly. So I don't think he'll have a video for it, sorry!
Wouldn't Twrch Trwyth put the quest into the exile pile in the market instead of removing it from the game? That's the only other place the "exile" keyword is used, when referencing the market.
great play through! but why put progress on a card you don't want (and can never play) when you could put it on the region you wanted to prevent it from getting exiled? just trying to understand the differences in strategy for Arthurians
That was a terrible choice hahah! No reason other than me not thinking too closely on it since I was focusing on the Arthurian cards themselves instead of where I was placing the progress tokens! Sorry if that was confusing!!
Yea you are back at it woohoo! I finally found a copy of both of the boxes so they are now in my collection. I since played 3 campaign and it was so much fun. Even if I got destroyed 0-4 in my 2nd campaign which I was trying to play on the Supreme Campaign mod with a civilization which I was not used to, the Scythians. Do you feel like the civilizations from the classic box are too simple? To me, I can see that they are more streamlined than their counterpart in the legend box, but they still all feel pretty unique to me imho. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching Keven! I would say that the civ's in the first box are still really enjoyable they just work mostly the same, going for different types of cards or having a couple different tweaks. Legends is when things get really unique though so it all depends on what you want! Good luck on your next campaign and thanks so much for commenting!
Yay! Arthur and the Knights of the Table round won the day! Well done Colin. If there's one thing I love more than the LOTR it's the Arthurian legends! So I especially liked this Imperium: Legends playthrough thanks. I would like to see more Arthurians of course! lol It's a theme that isn't much used in boardgames. Tainted Grail went way too far off piste for my tastes and the game that Markus played on JPlay was good but didn't really capture my imagination. Thanks as always and looking forward to the next playthrough!
That is so cool, I did not know you loved the Arthurian lore! Yeah Tainted Grail was a big miss for me I was hoping it would be something it wasn't. Regardless thanks so much for watching Paul and sorry I destroyed Excalibur!!
haha its nice that the titles of the arthurians cards are in welsh... hearing you trying to pronounce them made me giggle as a welsh man. "gwaith Calan" means battle of calan although the word "gwaith" means "work" its often used in this way to describe battle. the actual word for battle is "Brwydr"... Twrch Trwyth means "the boar Trwyth" although a direct translation actually says "mole tincture" lol
Fun game, but I'm not sure I endorse rushing through the game that quickly, lol. I'm been really enjoying playing Legends solo myself (sadly Classics keeps being out of stock so I don't have it), but the one thing that kind of bugs me about the solo bot is how quickly it rushes you through the game. I like to take my time and enjoy games like this. Arthurians are in a tough place though, since like all their cards need a garrisoned knight, but so does their quest progress. So you end up picking one or the other. Rushing is probably the right strategy vs the Atlanteans, I agree. I don't really feel like I'm good enough to give strategy tips, but the one thing I will say is that your market game needs work. Placing that progress on the market is an important decision in solo, as it can be used to manipulate what cards the AI takes and, more importantly, what cards it will exile (which can both be used to force it to exile cards that would be good for it and be used to slow down how fast it exiles cards, which causes you to move through the main deck faster). I felt you were being a little careless there. But that's more important if you are aiming for a longer game. Great video though, and I always appreciate your editing.
Ha I never have the intention that I am great at this game, just have fun playing it! I think the progress in this one didn't matter much I wasn't focusing on what cards I wanted I was much more focused on running through my quests ASAP before the Atlanteans could catch me with their high VP development cards. Regardless thanks for watching and commenting!! Hope you are enjoying your copy!
So with this game, I’ve found that if you have a good idea of how your nation is supposed to play, the AI is easy to beat. So I’ll probably be upping the difficulty. This game is really excellent.
