@tsm1th611 this one was done using acrylic paint, however, acrylic paint will flake off of latex masks if applied too thick, lightly applying watered down acrylic paint with a piece of foam is good for touch-ups. for full basecoating you'll want to mix the acrylic about 50/50 with liquid latex
@tsm1th611 whichever ones you like, I mix all my colors so there aren't any specific ones, some people like to use browns, some like to use greys, this one was mostly done with grey colors.
@tsm1th611 I used paint for aging, I take something soft with texture (I use a sock, provides excellent texture) get it wet, and dip it into acrylic paint, I then rub it into the mask and once it's spread around I lightly tap the sock against the entire surface area of the mask, put more paint on some spots than others for a better aging effect, for the jowels I used the same method but just repeated it when I needed it darker and followed the slight jowels that were already on the mask.
@randomusp just sort of pull it apart so the stuff holding it together (which is probably spraypaint) seperates it'll take awhile to get it fully messed up.
Hey buddy! Nice job man. I have seen fail attempts and also good ones and yours is a good one. Just work at getting better! That's what I'm doing. I did a mask, in my opinion I think I did a pretty damn good job on it. Iv seen some people just fail like when I say fail I mean fail on it. I think mine is good enough. It's my first custom one so what the heck right? I have been thinking of putting a video up on it but I just haven't got to it.. Nice job! :)
If I do make a video of it. I'd appreciate some comments on it like what I can do better and not to do next time. I want to do more conversions but I don't have money right now to buy more masks but once I do I will! Specially that it's a first time doing it so there's always mistakes but we all learn from them:)
@JustinMcQueenTheMan ok because i have a don post 2003 and its the only mask i have, and im not in the financial situation to buy a new one right now. im kinda nervous to customize it because i dont want to ruin, but i cant help but see how much better this revisions make the masks look. what colors of acrylic paint for the aging effect with the sock?
@JustinMcQueenTheMan thanks for replying to my comment, but i also have a couple more question. how did you get the masks to look aged like that? did you use paint as well and how did you use the paint to create that aging effect? also for the cheek lines, the jowels, did you use a really thin paint brush for those so they dont look to obvious? and how did you make them look like they were a part of the mask so easily?
If I would make a vid on mine, can you tell me what you think? Maybe I can do you one? Just an idea. I really want to get into converting masks and all. I like that stuff. I'm a artist and I wanna challenge myself.
@amozartii you can find the 06 all over ebay, though personally I wouldn't reccomend it unless you have the biggest head in human history. I believe the 03 can still be found at some costume stores and i'd reccomend it, it fits alot better though you might have to pull a bit if you have a large head, for most though it should fit nice and snug.
@amozartii the 06 is all over ebay, the picture for it looks nothing like what they actually send out to people, and for the price typically charged for it (60-90) i'd reccomend searching ebay every couple weeks until you find a real nice Myers mask for sale that's not mass produced.
@BROKENHOUSEFILMS I know what you mean, and yeah, it is exceptionally hard to repaint a mask, although that was awhile ago and i've gotten alot better at doing this. finding good cheap Myers masks is a pain, I saw the one I have now and jumped immediately on the deal.
@JustinMcQueenTheMan i tired on the 2006 one and it is huge i prefer the 2003 one, some people have done some very good conversions and made them look great not that yours wasnt bad, it wasnt, its just very hard to do i cant find any good cheap ones on ebay
@BROKENHOUSEFILMS I gave the 2003 to one of my cousin's, I worked on the 2006 for the longest time, but i've come to a conclusion, the 2006 is and oversized, overpriced, poorly haired, piece of mass produced garbage. I just recently managed to get my hands on a really great Myers mask on ebay for a decent price (rediculously hard thing to do).

@randomusp it's part of the Halloween 2 soundtrack, it's called "the shape stalks again"
i think the 2003 looks way better than the 2006 god job .

I rubbed in some dark paint over the mask. the smudges are where some areas got more paint than others.

I'd gladly give some feedback if you made a video of your mask, I've gotten better at painting masks as well since I posted this video.

i would recommend cutting the neck on the 2003 one
in the film it is short anyhow

@crazytrain213 the hair on mine stayed on fairly well but could still be pulled off with little effort

@vader5445 this was before I knew anything about mask painting, being the dumbass I was I mixed up convert with modify.
@BROKENHOUSEFILMS

does the hair in the 2003 mask come out easily? please anwser
what paint and materials did you use to do this conversion?
@MegaPixVids101 I no longer own either of these masks, got rid of them when I got a much better Myers mask awhile ago.
@JustinMcQueenTheMan i tired on the 2006 one and it is huge

u didnt convert anything at all in this vid.
Nice
I used acryilic paint mixed with liquid latex
looks like a lot of black washing was involved so it could be weathered right
