- About 6:30am an 18-wheeler was northbound on FM 1725 just past FM 3081 (Dabny Bottom Road) when he ran off the road in a curve and rolled over. The truck was carrying 2800 gallons of Sodium Dioxide. When it crashed the tank broke at the seam releasing close to 1300 gallons both as liquid and vapor. The remaining 1500 gallons remain in the tank but is still gassing. A school bus with 29 onboard drove through the cloud just after it happened. All students and the driver were transported to HCA Conroe where they were treated and released. A woman who also drove through the scene made it to Cleveland when she summoned EMS due to breathing issues. A rental company driver stopped at the scene to assist and was also affected. Two Montgomery County Deputies who were assisting in the evacuation were also affected and went to HCA Conroe to be evaluated. At 3pm the scene remains. HAZMAT crews say it could be well into the evening. Tankers from Montgomery, Caney Creek, North Montgomery County, New Waverly, and Cleveland were summoned to the scene, Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management responded with the command truck as did the South County Fire Department. Porter Fire responded with a DECON unit for affected personnel and great. Woodlands, Harris County, Conroe and Walker County HAZMAT are also on the scene. The truck driver is deceased. Many residents say FM 1725 is heavily traveled by trucks in order to avoid the weigh station in New Waverly on i-45. We will keep you updated through the night.

my favorite reporter.
I hope the driver didn't suffer and was quick. RIP young man.
Prayers over the family.
🙏🏼
I was in San Jacinto volunteering with the Red Cross to bring aid and assistance to areas affected by the floods. I was glad to see the resilience of the community and how much support people gave their neighbors. My condolences to the family of the driver and a quick recovery from this tragic event.🇺🇸🚒⛑️🐄
Thanks Turtle.
😢so sad!
Sulphur Dioxide - had to listen to it several times to pick that out.
As opposed to sodium dioxide which is in the description.
Its also good on potatoes.
I have never seen so many Trains Crashing the Last 10 years. That is some crazy accidents.
What train?
Gas $2.59 ! ! ! !
Lower taxes.
@@frankfielder🤪🤪not hardly!
Those trucks carrying hazardous materials should not be allowed on country roads. I'm sure there are designated roads for hazmat vehicles.
1725 is a very dangerous road, lots if curves and blind spots, I've driven 18 wheelers down it for over 20 years and there's always wrecks on it, 🙏🙏 for the driver's family, please be careful driving this fm rd
Looking at the gas price I determined it was not San Jacinto, CA.
Tx.
They need to investigate our OSSFs & ask why our Directors are injecting 2.3 CFM of air into an aeration tank with no vent to atmosphere. I know that pressurized air is being inappropriately sent through the house plumbing or in some that I find it is traveling through the electrical conduit. Even with undersized vents I see the gas getting pushed into our indoor environments. We need different leadership in our State.
Please pardon my ignorance.
Can you plz enlighten me as per this comment.
Is it natural gas being pushed in our residential homes, thus causing explosions,or am I missing your whole point of your comment.
Thanks
