These are indeed 70s style TV ads with grainy analogue TV corny dance number commercials and cliche taglines. Ahhh simpler times when the greatest thing invented after TV was the VCR so we could actually rent and watch movies at home. 😂
@@jonfreeman9682 I remember a lot of ads from the '70s, I can tell you the first book I read at around 3 years of age.
I think CTV channel 9 was 8 in Toronto
@@danielpinzone2800 What exactly does that have anything to do with my comment..?!
Marineland and Gameworld, Marineland and Gameworld. Niagara Falls, Ontario...................That jingle has stuck in my head for decades.
....wonderful place for you to go.....Marineland, Niagara....
Was that J. W. Pepper in the Rez commercial? 😂
Yep!!
Is the Shoppers cashier the actress from Black Christmas? The one who gets suffocated and put in a rocking chair? And that is definitely Kristy McNichol in the Hostess commercial.
Yes! She’s also in Strange Brew
Yes that's right! She was in Black Christmas. I was always disturbed by that scene.
That's her name! It was bugging me. Kristy is immediately recognizable.
@@dadgarage7966 that commercial must have been mid 70's.
Raisin Crisp was the Canadian version of Raisins Rice & Rye.
Milk voiceover by Don Francks, the father of Cree Summer Francks.
I wish I could be my age now (30) in 1975. The music scene would be unreal
that is true. Really sad to see that there is nothing out there in music (rare to find) and what is popular gets passed as 'music.' It's garbaaaaajge!
The first commercials at least has the actor who played Garth in the sci-fi show Starlost
Every once in awhile, I still look for a Herbies Drug Warehouse commercial I was in for Kingston Ontario. It would havew been in the 90's. Love Canada
That little old guy pouring oil into the shotgun had me laughing.
I can't believe I still know the Coffee Crisp jingle word-for-word! It was based on Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust", of course.
Karen Magnussen was actually from BC. I lived on the same street as she did in North Vancouver.
She was so cute!!
I miss the Trident Mints and the Raisin Crisp. Both products that are no longer around.
I ate those mints in the early eighties. Wintergreen, I still remember the cloying mouth feel of the chemical sugar.
I wasn't usually allowed to have regular bubble gum, so I had those mints instead and later the gum.
The 1970s just as I remember them - brown!
And orange!
Next time I get a new microwave I suppose I'll have to smash a bottle of something on it.
Beaumark were really good appliances so I hear!
two commercials I remember and would like to see is a Caramilk commercial with a beautiful song and teen theme and the airline commercial with the song "orange is beautiful"
I remember the Sail, the Rez, the 7UP and the Beef Sounds Good commercials. I also remember the ending of the commercial that says “wasting electricity turns people off”. That looks like Sonja Smits in that Milk commercial with all the rhymes. I hope Queen got some royalties from that Coffee Crisp commercial.
Some of these commercials were definitely from the 80's as the one commercial actually say's the model is from1981
Who cares .
Two government safety ads; The first is a cartoon about a racecar trying to be a snowplow. It fails, And they remind you that until the racecar gets perfected, "Watch out for the flashing blue light" (Because snowplows are slow). The second is promoting the use of seatbelts, by using a flying pumkin representing a car occupant) that smashes into objects, all the while a voice over says lines like,"Some poeple feel its better to be thrown clear of in an accident. I'd love to see those again!
Coffee Crisp jingle covers 'Another One Bites The Dust' by Queen and Neilson's Country Crisp covers 'Thank God I'm A Country Boy' by John Denver
Loved the way we all styled and looked after our hair 😅
With the products that punched the hole into the ozone layer causing the need for sunscreen due to elevated UV levels. Yep.
0:00 All the savings you can carry, right Robin Ward?🙂
3:30 You get a big delight in every bite.😉
7:02 Gonna get you too!😋
9:10 Guess what this commercial is for!😜
12:50 Not bad, but I still prefer the Un-un-cola.😏
14:00 I've always liked Saturdays.😊
15:40 Remember when it was cool to celebrate our history?🇨🇦
19:28 It's always turned me off.😈
21:05 "Ah, that's nice."😀
Ah, man! That Minolta camera was beautiful!
neat seeing kids familiar today that grew up to be stars
I love watching these old clips -- really brings back memories growing up as a kid, along with things I didn't recognize at the time. Karen Magnussen worked out in a full daywear ensemble, complete with necklace. Hmm, who knew?
Karen Magnusson was my hero ! Wow, I feel old now, but remember almost every add
05:00 I remember singing along at home when I was a kid.
"Crisp crisp crisp crisp, crisp crisp crisp crisp, RAISIN!!! ... rrrrrrraisin crisp crisp..."
Neat seeing what companies were involved in now, compared with then.
The first commercial... this fellow was one of the main characters on the Canadian TV show.. The Starlost.
