Second he didnt say "the best sounding IMSA car" he said the best sounding new generation car, and the bt63 and aston lmdh are new generation race cars. It's very "american" and I respect american manufactures for keeping their identity alive like this, I'm from Le Mans and I remember when I was a kid I loved the Panoz so much because of their unique sound, I could recognize their sound from my parents garden wich was 5 km away...

the BOP literaly just mandates a maximum downforce, minimum drag and Maximum power. As long as the teams are within those paramaters, aerodynamically they can do what they like in LMH and LMDH
@@AceBlake Thats because they didnt do a good job of playing the system. The BOP is about as lenient as you can get. I dont know weather they run exhaust gasses in the WindTunnel, because Ferrari are going to get extra downforce from the exauhst. As long as you are within the downforce/drag coeffecient limit, they cant do anything. There are literally no aerodynamic or bodywork restrictions. you can do whatever you like as long as it comes in under x amount of downforce, and over 1.0 in drag.
Technically a GTP and a Hypercar actually, since they're running both IMSA and WEC, but realistically the best label is LMDH as that's the kind of car that it is. Imagine someone who's never been into endurance racing trying to understand all this lol
ALMS(IMSA) also had The Oreca FLM 09 cars in 2009-2011 and then 2017 at the birth of the IMSA era. They used an LS3 V8. I was glad when they were discontinued in IMSA after 2017 i think🤔 Their performance level they sat in between GTLM and LMP2. TThe FLM09's always looked like they were frustrating the GTLM drivers on the track with their low power but superior p/w ratio and agility commonly afforded to le mans prototypes.

I was a bit sad when I learned that the DPi category and the Cadillac DPi-VR was done after this season but the future is looking bright for the new class and cars. Definitely pumped for the '23 season!

Now I've seen and heard the all beating all screaming caddy out on track, I am won over. 'It's going to be an exciting prospect that I am sure watching all these wonderful and exotic machines going toe to toe with one another on some of the world's best circuits. I cannot wait.

LMP3 cars like ADESS-03 LMP3 and Ginetta g61-lt-p3 LMP3 are a lot closer to hypercars made for racing than this modern LMH class

Well, as per the norm, when an American team goes to Le Mans, they tend to bring a bunch of good old V-8 horsepower with them. Works every time.
