I'd rather just forge blades. And he made tsuba. But there are not many koshiraeshi , habakishi and togishi available here. That's why I had to learn everything. But the quality of the work of specialized craftsmen is much higher. But also the price, of course.

What kind of wood do you use for handles and scabbards?

May I ask why you don’t make the habaki first?

    • @katanamaking2606

I usually make the most basic tsuka. Before the glue dries, habaki. Other dimensions develop from habaki. (tsuka, saya) When I finish the habaki, the tsuka gluing is dry and I can continue working without a break.

What material did you use for the kashira and kurigata? I’m a bladesmith in training and I’m trying to figure out what materials are good for what.

Hello Pavel! Please tell me what tool did you use to finish the habaki?
Could you make a video master class on different habaki finishes?
    Thank you

It's a gouge file. It has gears in rows behind it. I'm probably good at making blades. I can handle Koshiorae and its components at an amateur level. I don't know whether to make a video on this topic. Maybe someone better. Like Ford Hallam ?
