    THX for the video! As a noob, I solved an issue where I could not get over 1800MHz on my memory before I get some unstability... the mining settings interfered with Afterburner FAN settings, so the fan was lower than expected, and the memory heated up. Now I reach 1890MHz and 54,7 stable (without bios change).

    Very Actionable Content; I have one of those jokers in my gaming rig; I picked up a of basket of RX5600XT Gaming MX and MECH OC Cards; and surprise; surprise the MECH OC is stronger than the Gaming MX; I just haven't found the sweet spot for the MECH OC; I find it odd that the MECH OC with only one 8 pin connector and a smaller heat sink and fans will hash at a higher rate than the Gaming MX with two 8 pin connectors and a larger heat sink and fans; I think that I have narrowed it down to the VRAM temps are causing thermal burn and causes a thread to get stuck which in turn locks up the mining client or the pc; also, I have found several different people providing content; that when they open up these cards; found that one or more of the vram chips had no thermal pads; I haven't cracked any of the RX 57 / 56 XT's open that I have; mainly because the only thermal pads I have on hand is the blue type; and I would rather have some thermal grizzly pads in hand before doing so. Snag you a few RX 56 MECH OC cards to tinker with; w/o bios mod; they do 42 Mh/s out of the box; I think they will be stable by cutting back on the vram power; like down to 830 will reduce the vram temp; great bang for the buck; considering where we have come from 42 Mh's at 75 watts; that's just insane!
    Peace

    I keep coming back to this video; please take that as a compliment as to how well the video instruction is presented; and useful the content is; I am pretty sure it was the guys; and the stuff we could only dream about having back in the day; the OCD guy made a realization of today.
    I am still just now realizing how spoiled I have become with my fire up and forget about them for months at a time with my RX580's & GTX 1070's .. I have been using very old drivers; and I am still stumbling around the newer driver UI's .. because I cannot find where in the driver GUI I can find a way to adjust the voltage for the VRAM.
    I am using the step by step process you outline here to figure out how to get this RX5600XT MECH OC Card stable; I have a few different versions of the RX56XT, and clearly; not only is this line presently one of the highest performing card per hash to consumption power; ( as per Carter's remarks about it from BBT, he said it is a sleeping giant ), it does beat my RX57XT in that respect when it comes to power consumption to hash ratio.
    I believe the MSI RX5600XT MECH OC's is the stronger of the RX56 line up; I also have a few of the MSI RX5600XT Gaming MX, and the MECH OC beat the Gaming MX out of the box; which seems somewhat backwards to me; but it is; what it is; but as far as I can tell; the vram temps are holding it back from being stable; and the power needs to be reduced from 850 mV to 830 mV to avoid thermal burn locking up a thread; and other than using the settings in phoenix miner to reduce it; which I cannot confirm it when the mining client starts; every other setting shows in the console except that one so far; that is why I am trying to figure out how to accomplish reducing it; either in Afterburner; but I haven't figured out how to unlock it as of yet; I haven't used Afterburner for much.
    I am going to try in MorPowerTools; but my main system I work on my cards with; will not download it; no matter how much security I turn off.
    Peace

      @@RabidMining Check out BBT; we have our RX 5600 XT's doing 43 Mh/s at 75 watts; that is just the card; 74 watts was the system wattage; he broke it down by card, PCIe slot and System; pretty insane considering where we came from three short years ago; what even more odd; as I put above, the MECH OC is stronger than the Gaming MX with two 8 pins, and larger heat sink and fans than the MECH OC. People are finding one or more of the vram chips not to have any thermal pads on these cards; causing thermal burn and threads getting stuck.

    I did; it's still in my gaming rig for now; at least until I snag some more RX57XT's cards; and I had two MSI GTX 1070 ti The Duke SLI bridged cards in the gaming rig before it; I was surprised how much better the detail is in playing like, COD Warzone; hey, you to take a break once in a while; and for three days in a row; been putting in 16 hour days reconfiguring the FPGA side of the farm and had to install a temperature regulated speed control HVAC Blower motor to deal with all the heat; and run more wire for ten more 240v outlets, each on seperate 30 amp double pole breaker switches; overkill a bit; but down the line it will be easier to scale by just adding PDU bars. The gpu's still put out way more heat; in part; since I put 140mm fans on both ends of the fpga tubes with a 120mm adapter; so the fans are not very loud at all anymore; and it also helps to make it cooler by running a BS that only uses 600 watts at 9.40 Gh/s @ 424 frequency. The 57's will be great if ETH keeps dragging their feet; heard the testnet when down again for a time; again.

    Can any of you share Radeon RX 5700 XT XFX Tripple fan GPU OC settings after Red Panda's BIOS MOD. I am unable to Push it above 56 MH/S after that it crashes. Please share your experience if you are mining stable on XFX triple Fan 5700 XT GPUs.

    Although this is an impressive result as far as the mh, you get far better efficiency when using TeamRedMiner, Phoenix is optimised for nvidia cards, not AMD. Since TRM is optimised specifcally for AMD cards, it uses far less power. My 5700xt cards only use 90w per card with TRM after the bios mod. My cards arent particularly overclockable either and I can only get 1840mhz mem clock on most of them, even so that gives me 56mh per 90w = 0.62mh/w. This is far better than this example where you get 5 more mh but use an extra 50w per card to do so imo (assuming I am reading your spreadsheet correctly). I am reading the wattage within the mining software though so perhaps this isnt accurate? The power draw at the wall for the whole 6gpu rig is 751w though.

      Keep in mind every GPU silicone is different. Some cards can’t handle the same overclocks as others. Aim for stability at a decent hashrate, and you will make more than other people.

      @@HashRaptor Thanks for the reply! I am finding my cards running about 80-90 Celsius with no overclocking and i not going to overclock but i have a question? I turned the fans up to %70 and got the card to cool down to 60-75 Celsius. Is it ok to constantly run my fans at 70 % all the time? Also, afterburner is giving me a different temp over task manager?

    i figured the Rx 6600 xt would be more higher Hashrate. cause of the higher model number.
    i have 2 of them and only get 32 Mhs per card.
    So why the Rx 5700 xt has higher Mhs if its a lower model than the 6600 xt

    • @fenixmining
      @fenixmining 4 года назад +2

      @@HashRaptor Ah ok I think you may need to consider the idle power consumption of the GPU. Something like:
      Power while mining - Idle power w/o GPU = Total GPU power consumption
      I don't think this is perfect since the rest of the system is probably using a little more power while mining as well but the additional power will add up when adding more GPUs. Without integrated graphics I guess you'd need to add another GPU to use as the display output. I have to reconfirm this but I think my 5700XT increased my idle by 17-18w. When I factor this in the efficiency numbers I'm seeing are not as good as my Radeon VIIs or my 1660 Tis. Also my experience so far is that they are tough to keep stable at higher hashrates especially when I went from 4 to 6 GPUs. Don't even want to think about what it will be like when I add the last 2. That being said they are cheaper than Radeon VIIs and the hashrate is higher than the 1660 Ti so for now I'm going to move forward with these.

      Mining: 108w reported in software, 175-176w ATW

    OMG HOW MANY TIMES ARE PEOPLE GOING TO QUOTE SOFTWARE POWER. That gpu is not using 120 watts, it’s closer to 180 watts with those settings. You measured the difference between idle and load but completely omitted the fact that the gpu uses power when idle too, which makes all of your power estimates completely wrong. Software power readings for 5700s are about 40-50 watts less than the total power used by the gpu. So if it says 120 watts your closer to 170-180 watts. If software power shows 110 watts the real power is closer to 150-160 watts just for the gpu itself.

    At what point is memory temperature being compromised? Is 80 degrees going to reduce lifespan? Never really hear people talk about it much but I think we should consider the life of the card too.

    • @HashRaptor
      @HashRaptor  3 года назад +1

    Was your monitor hooked into the 5700xt or did you have it in the integrated GFX (I'm assuming your cpu has it)? Also when you used the RBE to set the memory clocks you had two types of memory on the pull down menu. I'm using a Gigabyte 5700xt Gaming OC and I only have one memory type. When I applied the mod, it bricked the card. Do all 5700xt's have 2 memory types on that VRAM timing tab?
