You guys always make everything you play sound so good. It would be fun to see a video where you cover the headstocks and play Epi's and Gibson's and see if viewers can tell which is which.

You can easily tell by looking at the body as well.

Great video - saw this AFTER I purchased one of these for my 13 year old daughter. She plays acoustic guitar, mandolin and piano...she wanted an electric and I bought this one..she really likes it so far and has watched your video quite a bit.

The price of this is insaaane. I just bought a guitar and feel like just picking up a cheap epi because why not.
I did an extensive review of this guitar on my channel a few months back. KILLER guitar for an unbeatable price. In my review I discussed a few simple, inexpensive modifications you can make to the stock guitar, and suddenly it's like a $2000 Gibson. Can't recommend this guitar enough. Rock on guys!

I believe they're coil tap switches, not splits. Different technology and can reduce noise when compared to coil splitting. These guitars sure sound great.
I was looking to buy an Epiphone Les Paul pro and I was looking at used instruments. But after seeing this video, I bought one of the last ten wine red Traditional Pros from Andertons instead; can't wait for it to arrive!
It arrived today; the top is gorgeous and the satin finish neck is wonderful. And the sustain is ridiculous! Absolutely wonderful guitar.

I have the gold top and holy crap is it a nice guitar. For the price or otherwise, just really well done. I went to my local shop to buy a completely different Les Paul, but fell in love with this thing after trying it out while waiting. Considering getting another!
the gold top gives me a trouser happy. i'd take off the pickguard, change the caps (trust me), top wrap it and mid boost it til it screams!
Hey Bad, what caps do these come with? What would you change the caps to? My Epi 1960 Tribute plus has Mallory 150's.
most epiphones come with cheap ceramic caps. oh your guitar has good ones :) it's suprising but iv found upgrading from stock cheap epi caps opens up the pickups and makes them sound less harsh and brittle. I put in a set of Vishay orange drops. they're still sprague but cheaper because they're minus the branding :)
there's a vid of changing the caps in my SG on my channel if you're insterested. it's relatively simple

got the goldtop for my son and often find myself jamming with it. has paul tones as well as stratish type tones. could easily gig with it. alot of guitar for the price.

At £279 that IS epic I have to agree! I love the satin backs - I wish manufacturers would do more of these instead of the standard high glitzy gloss.
I can but recommend this guitar! I've had one of these for about three years and couldn't be happier with it. Great sounding pups, super playability and especially for that price it really is an epic deal!

These guitars sound great! Usually epiphones clean sound are shit. Muddy and too thick but these guitars sound like Gibsons. As a guitarist who's been playing for 10 years I can say that this guitar isn't just for beginners, but for anyone who wants the quality sound of a Les Paul without draining their bank account. I have one, and play it more than my Gibson Les Paul standard and my music man majesty.

I have two epiphone Thunderbird basses and they both are great. The best part is you can experiment with and upgrade them and not fear ruining a 2000.00 bass guitar. The Les Pauls I have tried where all really nice, felt great and sounded good too.

i have an old epi les paul trad pro in transblue color. can't beat it for the price. after setting it up i love how it plays and sounds it's a perfect guitar for a beginner! just make sure you try a bunch out if you can

great morning wakeup jam here in US.
bought one a couple of years ago. it held up well. the gloss finish on the front is not exactly damage proof. shit happend twice once i left my guitar plugged in and hung it on the wall, my sister tripped over the wire, the guitar was violently pulled sideways and a big flake of finish came off (glued back in with hot glue). the other time i had the guitar at home for 4 hours max. i bought it at the same time as a fender frontman 212R. i bowed down to ajust the eq, one straplock failed and it fell to the ground so if you get one DO NOT USE THE STRAPLOCKS!!! other than that its an exelent guitar that held up well.
I almost dropped mine due to the "strap cocks".. SO instead I bought some Grolsh bottle seals for £2 .. :D
Somebody in band at school dropped my les paul standard. They're replacing it with this one, can't wait to get it
I got the Gold Top as my first guitar and was able to play it without upgrading for a good while, it played amazing and helped me learn a lot quicker. I got mine for around $500 (maybe I got an upgraded version? it has stock Grover tuners so..)

Just picked one up in wine red. Love the satin finished back and neck. Open coil hummers sound great. Good guitar.
How are you finding the thickness of the neck? :).. Im interested cos i think its proper thick but yet is still nice to play xD.
+Vanadeo A little thicker than most Epiphone Les Paul's for sure, but still very comfortable. The smoothness of the neck is very enjoyable. The fret wire is even and finished well. The nut is cut properly. Basic setup and she's good to go. I will say the pots are a little scratchy. Might change them later, but that's it.

Yeah man, Thats what i was thinking.. Its a thick neck but yet comfortable to play.. I was tipping on the fact that its slightly shorter scale than a strat. I got a small gig on Friday we shall see how she fairs then. I think I will keep everything stock on this apart from the bridge I do want a roller bridge but other than that, great guitar.
Ok so this was 7 months ago, rebea went from a pretty huge guy to ripped in 7 months, that's dedication
Somewhere along the way, Gibson quality went south and Epiphone quality went WAY north. I bought an Epi ES-335 Pro recently and could be happier - regardless of price, which was ridiculous ($350ish). NOW, I am seriously looking at one of these. I could give a rats behind about the shape of the headstock or the name on the headstock, if it's quality - it's quality and Epiphone, as of late, has been killing it's larger brother in the 'quality for price' game.
Awesome jam at the end! Really considering an epi les paul as an upgrade on my affinity tele.

I would love to see a comparison between these and the new Gibson Les Paul Studio Tributes. You have a stripped down American made Gibson vs. a pimped out foreign made Epiphone for both under $1,000. I'm really loving the way these gold tops ones look!!!

Well, I was checkin out the "Ebony" one (at Andertons of course" to which there was just two in stock....WAIT!, now there's just one left, the other one is rumored to be heading to Cork (Republic of Ireland) which just so happens to be where I've been takin up residence for the last 9 yrs.
Another words, I just bought that sucker ;-) Yeah boy, I'm about as happy as a pig n shite! This will be my first electric, thanks to my lovely Irish wife getting this for my 59th birthday (end of July)
I'll be sure to give an in depth review after I put it through it's paces.

Outstanding Bro, once I did a complete set-up, including intonation, she plays & sounds incredible. And that's through a wimpy 15watt solid state Ibanez. I can only imagine how she'll sound through the Mustang III v.2 I'm gonna get.
The Gold Top (best lookin one) was my first pick actually, but the specs on the G.T. were different then the black & the red. For instance, the tuners specs were shown as 14:1 ratio on the G.T. & 16:1 ratio on the others, that just bugged the hell out of me, so I went with the black...Zero regrets. I just ordered 4 black speed knobs to replace the crappy lookin bronze colored ones.

Has Anderton's TV considered using ISO cabs so the amps could be brought up to the sweet spot levels? Would probably save everyone's hearing as well and not cut the audio mics of the presenters. Just a thought

For that price that guitar is a freaking steal. Here in New Zealand they're just under $1000. I could order one for half that from you guys haha. That's kinda crazy.... I have a 2011 epi LP Standard and that thing takes a thrashing hahaha. Highly recommended
These are great guitar! I've had mine for 5 years now and its still a joy to play, plus it helps that tuning holds amazingly (at least my hold tune great) and the sounds is great!

you must have the eq set with some pretty dialed up highs. those pickups were always pretty dark.

Grabbed the goldtop. Pretty damn fantastic. And I got the SE Hollowbody that Rabea played in the Incubs Sound Like video. Both great guitars for their price, but the Goldtop Epi is really fantastic playing for such a low price.

Hey guys, I have been watching your videos for the past 4 weeks straight and it has lit a fire under my arse to dust away the cobwebs and dig out my guitars and start playing again (13 years since they got packed away and forgot about!) I have looked on the Andertons website and can only see the Wine colour available (pre order). Will the rest of the colours be available as shown in the video or is it only the wine colour now? Thanks for re-ignighting the flame!!!!

Do Gold Top or Gold painted guitars still turn green? I watched a couple of videos from Premier Guitar and some of the guitars they showed had that problem. Due to the copper added to the mixture to get the gold colour. Laugh at me if ya will but check out their video touring Gruhns, Chicago music or Guitar exchange, the proper name escapes me right now, also Dave's Music. Hey Nelson, your lookin pretty good with the playing wish I was as dedicated.
This and a Mustang III or the Fender Standard MIM for a second guitar? I have a Yamaha EG112C and the amp it came with (a practice amp). I got it with the kit. RUclips's opinion on this is greatly appreciated.

Well I worked my ass off last month and it paid off, just ordered me a gold top of this.. Can not wait! :).
Got it xD.. She is a beaut.. The necks on these things are like table legs however the shorter scale makes up for this and its a gorgeous guitar to play, feels weird in the hand at first but getting used to it now.. Soundwise.. What a monster but then can be transformed into an angel. My fave position is neck split and bridge humbucker together with some chorus and delay.. Playing Far behind by Candlebox in that config is amaaazing.

I know that epiphone also released a more limited cherry sunburst version, so that's another option for color
I just picked up a used trad-pro in heritage cherry sunburst non-flame top, i wonder how many they made in that color, seems like it's only mentioned a few places on ye old internets.
