i rarely play modern games not because their bad by no mean there are many great modern games. but i feel like something was lost past the 6 generation consoles. something about limitation that imo brings out the best creative quality in a game dev
Yeah I think there is just something magical about older consoles sometimes, like I said in the video it just seemed like devs were less afraid to try something wacky. Thanks for checking out the video I hope you enjoyed it 🖤
Totally valid, and I had a blast getting to play some of these games I missed due to being a bit too young to really grasp video games. Thanks for watching!
I also hate with some of these newer modern consoles is that you had to create an account and have Internet connected to your console somehow! I think the Nintendo Wii was the last console where you didn't have to have an account, but if you wanted to Wii shop, watch read the news, and such you had to have Internet for that though! I liked the Wii very much cause you can play GameCube games on it!
Man some of the best games of all time are on the N64! Star Fox, Diddy Kong Racing, Waverace, Killer Instinct Gold, Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey, Goldeneye 007, Pilotwings, Blastcorps. It goes on and on.
only one week? i wouldnt mind playing just custom robo v2 for a whole month and thats only one game! no "childhood nostalgia" either. games have no age in my eyes
Nice! Glad that’s how you feel about games and that you can always return to the ones you love. That sounds like a really unique experience and must be awesome. As I said later in the video I felt like I could have easily played the N64 for a whole month at least especially if I would have included the Zelda games or Mario 64. Thanks for watching 🖤 appreciate your time.
Interesting thoughts, and I'm sorry you didn't enjoy Diddy Kong Racing. Each to their own I suppose :) I'm playing N64 quite a lot now I have an HDMI device cable to clean up the visuals. Also, the Retro Fighters gamepad is a huge improvement on the original controller. Banjo Kazooie is worth the time if you get to play it fully.
Thank you for checking out the channel! I appreciate you taking time out of your day to not only watch but share your thoughts as well. I am going to look into a retro fighters gamepad, and I am going to carve out time to play Banjo all the way through. Thank you for hanging out!
Dude I couldn’t put Starfox Down! It is so good and I’m really looking forward to finishing more of these games. Thanks for hanging out on the channel 🖤🤙🏻
I've been doing something similar. I've been playing only Rareware n64 games and honestly it's a lot of fun. Except for DK64. There's such a thing as too many collectables.
I actually never got around to playing DK64 but I have heard that the amount of collecting in that game is nauseating for many lol. Thanks for checking out the video and taking time out of your day!
PERFECT DARK....Campy voice acting? RESIDENT EVIL and MK: MYTHOLOGIES is looking at PloopAChoopTV like "Are we a f**king joke to you? GET OVER HERE!! *Spear swoosh sound*. 😂 Naw, RESIDENT EVIL and MK: MYTHOLOGIES is the Undisputed Champions of Campy Voice Acting.
I swear lol. Like I remember the scream of a character from the Ps1 game Incredible Crisis… and for 20 ish years I had no idea what that game was called or anything. I remember I played a game with an office worker running from a boulder and a very particular scream, and that was my memory 💀💀💀
The 3D graphics felt pushed out, but there were some great games on the 64. All new systems for Nintendo feel like they are not finished, which explains the expansion pak.
Yeah I can definitely see some of the jankiness due to them pushing the 3D stuff but like you said there are some stellar games here. Thanks for stopping by! I’m working on some new content right now and just taking a break but overall love the support and just getting to talk video games
The expansion pack was for a DK64 bug if i am not mistaken. IMO Nintendo purposefully underpowers their systems to focus on gameplay and mechanics first. Graphical power isn't as important to their target audience. 😅
I don't think I would choose to only play N64 but it does have some fun and nostalgic games. It was the first console I ever played as a kid too. MY first console was a PS1 but my first gaming memories were of playing N64 games with family members.
That’s totally fair! I enjoy both modern gaming and retro gaming so I think I would choose to play both as well. I was surprised at how high the highs are here. Thats really cool that your first memories of playing video games is with your family. Thank you for sharing that.
Ayy great vid ploop!! I 100% agree with Nadia about Mario kart what the heck is that game 😭 I’ve tried to play some 64 games but I suck at all of them lmaooo the polygons scare me 😰 would love to see more game play of them tho especially if you hit the Zelda’s!! Great vibes once again ploops!! 💕🫶
RUDELLE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WE MISSED YOU SO MUCH 🖤 hope everything is well and thank you so much for spending some of your valuable free time with us. Hope to see some new streams from you dude whenever you are ready and have time 🖤 yeah I loved the 64 but that Mario kart game was rough. There may be some Zelda in the future 🤔🤔🤔
Brilliant video boyo, I had a N64 briefly an played like 3 titles mostly Pokemon Stadium & Wrestle Mania before it unfortunately broke.⚡️ So nice an educational here on lots of fronts. Thanks for sharing buddy.🎮🖖☘️
Thanks man I was kind of nervous about dropping this video haha but I’m glad people are enjoying it so far. I really wish I woulda got more into WWE back in the day. It seems like a lot of fun
On my 30th birthday last year December 2023! For a $100 dollars at a flea market from a retro game guy that I knew from high school est 2012 (graduated with) I bought me a n64 for the very first time after so many years, the retro game guy was very nice and was excited happy for me for my birthday, he let me pick a handful of N64 authentic which I got Zelda ocarina of time/Majora's Mask, super smash Bros 64, Mario 64, donkey Kong 64, Mario party 2/3, and starfox 64 then he gave me a handful of cool mini badges which I was grateful for, I was so happy glad I brought a N64 for $100 on my 30th birthday like I would buy a N64 in 1999 for a $100, and my mom sister was so proud of me that I bought something cool and classic that we wanted for a very long time!
That's an awesome birthday dude! Really happy to hear that you got to relive the past and go on that nostalgia trip. Its an awesome console for sure and i hope you have been enjoying it.
@@ploopachooptv yes it really was awesome and my sister and I play Mario party Mario kart on it very much as we're soon getting a authentic banjo kazooie cartridge as we're sort of phased out trying to get GameCube Cib games that are hard to find and get
Wow, I just had this discussion about gaming "dying" with my brother today lmao. I told him that too many games today look far too similar for my taste. Even with each one having it's own style, and that being taken into account, they (the characters) all just look like people in (mostly) real settings/generic views. Not fantasy characters, not Si-Fi characters, but just....people. Generic almost. I guess I'm just not a big REALISTIC graphics kinda guy, and prefer foggy/low poly aesthetics of the N64/PSX. Maybe modern games just aren't for me, I guess it just is what it is lol! In all seriousness, great video! Subbed 😁
Thank you for the feedback! I really love making these sorts of videos and while I have been taking a huge break recently for mental health reasons, I have a lot of reviews and other videos like this planned. Yeah I get that, not everyone is gonna vibe with modern gaming or retro gaming and there is definitely a different feel moving between the two. Specifically AAA titles just can sometimes feel formulaic where as these retro games felt zany and wacky and weird. There are obviously a lot of exceptions, but for a while we have been living in a time where AAA has a negative connotation. Thanks for leaving me this comment and taking time out of your day to just hang out!
Wait! You haven't finished HZD and you're wasting your time with an N64! Get your priorities in order 😂 Rare were a great Nintendo Developer, well they are being British, as we're the team of programmers that brought the Star Fox franchise to Nintendo 😉
I will finish it one day! lol and yeah I think Rare had some great quality on the console for sure. I am still playing Starfox 64 to this day. its amazing

I’d play N64 for the rest of my life. I’m so sick of modern gaming.

Lylatt wars (star fox in PAL) is literally my favourite game of all time. I bought an n64 just for it this year.
Nice! I had so much fun with it and I’m planning on finishing it soon. I suck at it, but it’s a really dope experience

Thank you so much! Its always nice to return to older titles and see the drastic differences in game design, narrative and the trends of the time.
