the actual first video I saw from the theorists was the first salad fingers theory, and I was immediately hooked! it was so hard to have to wait a week for the second one, so in that time I found game theorists and I started watching all of the old theories, with that edgy humor and crude editing. I love how there's a meta sub-narrative here about the channels too.
"The passing of the torch and knowledge", "making him into a real boy", "the fears of parenting", "in order to move on he has to bury the puppets of his past ", etc...
It doesn't take much theorizing to see that Matt is trying to ease the fears of this huge transition for us.
I've noticed a similar narrative in the last string of theories across the channels. And all of these final theories have most definitely been chosen for a reason, (I'm sure there'll be a few in there he wants to do just simply because HE has always wanted to (I'm REALLY excited for these btw) and I feel as his magnum opus there's a greater underlying story to these final 10.
Keep both sets of eyes open and every fold in your gray matter sharp boys and girls cause he's leaving us with a super heart-felt and touching final message hidden in the cracks of these final few.
I swear, he's a true thinker on every level.

I totally forgot until watching this, but the Salad Fingers theories were what introduced me to the theorist channels. I had watched the series and was so confused! I loved the explanation and style of the film theory videos I watched, so I looked into other episodes and Game Theory as well. That turned into watching GTLive as well as falling down the fnaf rabbit hole with everyone else. What a ride it’s been!

Salad fingers was one of my favorite theories for so long, I'm so glad it's getting an update
bro salad fingers was one of my introductions to youtube. my auntie got me to watch it. i'll never forget the sound of those rusty spoons
1:56 that feeling when the animation channel denied theories and straight up said they were wrong like a child, there theories. No idea why this triggered me but I don't really say it's to my tastes when they deny a theory and give zero answers. Like someone saying they know the maze inside out and not giving you a hint or map.
Right especially with how insulting and rude he came off like what is all that for? If salad fingers has no deeper lore and is generally just a bunch of coke nonsense him admitting it was pretty dumb ngl it would make him look like more of a genius and less of a drugged up man with too much time on his hands if he piggybacked off these theories and implemented some of this stuff into the show to give it something more than weird uncomfortable nonsense

Reminds me of an old comparison of Scott Cawthon vs Yander dev. You don't see Scott seeing the theroy's a chanel makes and go "this is all trash and I wasn't ment to be seen that way now I'm gonna insult him". I watched the theory's and thought they were nice and kinda showed how Matpat put together things. But saying something is wrong with no hints or explanations is like that one meme of a guy yelling "QUIT HAVING FUN!" and yeah.

Are you angry at the attempt of a theory? Or are you upset at this particular theory? I love theory crafting and I remember hearing about salad fingers and me and my friends had a bunch of fun creating ideas of why all of salad fingers is happening, so seeing Matpat cover it again and let me know videos were still being made is great. much of my own writing doesn't have any particular meaning. but it's interesting to see what other people make of it sometimes. i like the idea of conveying otherwise ineffable feelings through art rather than forming a complex narrative.
So sad that matpat is leaving but we will always remember how much he did
I discovered Salad Fingers when I was in my early 20s. I am NOT a horror fan AT ALL, but something about it was so creepily intriguing I couldn't stop watching it. It's stuck with me over 15 years later just because it was so strange and unsettling and creepy yet you wanted to know more.

I was so excited to watch the first salad fingers theory all those years ago-I really never expected my kid to be the one to tell me the last one just posted. I waited a bit to watch to try to savor it?Now that my son is older he’s become an avid game theory fan. Matpat retiring sparked a conversation about change and moving forward that we both needed to have and it’s honestly crazy to me that a RUclipsr I started watching while I was working graveyard several years back gave us that moment, I’m grateful for it and all the theories, of course.

The original Salad Fingers Theories were the first theories I ever watched. This got me down such a nostalgia road.
I was eight when I watched your first salad fingers video- I’m now fifteen. I then went and watched an episode and ended up slightly traumatised. In my first year of high school (England so I was eleven) someone in my class mentioned it again which prompted me to go back and rewatch the theories including the ones from four years ago. I loved them, they made me smile and I know adore horror and creepy web series’s
