I just realised that Miguel's sister will be the first in that family in generations who gets born into music and lives with music around her. Like wow. Loved this reaction from you guys!
She sure is going to be the first in a loooooong time! I'm sure her and Miguel will have a special bond and glad the whole family is embracing the music! Glad you enjoyed the reaction 😁
26:06 -- The thing is, Imelda has literally *_decades_* of feelings of abandonment to process (starting with, as you said, the fact that he DID choose to walk out the door in the first place, even if he changed his mind later). As well as the hardship of struggling to raise a child and keep a family together, all alone. It isn't that she's blaming the victim, or that she is refusing to take in the full story; but rather the pain of his leaving went too deep to be able to erase _instantaneously._ ...She needs a little time.
Thank you! Mama Imelda's feelings are totally valid and she doesn't owe him forgiveness for having wronged her just because he became the victim of a crime. He made a choice to leave before that happened, knowing he was leaving his wife and little girl behind. Like you said, that pain doesn't just go away. Especially because, at least to me (other viewers may interpret this differently and that's OK. I'm inferring this), it doesn't seem like he intended to go back. He said he wanted to go home because he got homesick. That doesn't sound to me like it was in the original plan.
@@kateiannacone2698 Right. Hector himself duly acknowledges this: he says, “This is my fault, Imelda; not yours”- and not Ernesto’s, either. He makes no attempt to shift the blame or play the victim. And no, I don’t think there was any plan to come back. My sense is the plan was to chase the dream- see where it led, how far it would take them- and leave all the rest open-ended.
EXACTLY. SO many people reacting to this just seem to have forgotten about him walking out to begin with, perfectly understandable for her to still feel anger.
Glad you were able to connect with us ☺️ talking about his mom gets us in our feels 😭 we try to support each other the best we can, we are very fortunate to have one another :)
This movie Absolutely hits if you have family that’s gone . I’ve watched before , but it harder recently since my father passed on my birthday this year . Sucks . But you can’t ever lose memories unless you get sick or pass away too .
Yes this movie hit so hard this time around for sure. We are so sorry for your loss, we hope that you are able to heal and can find some joy in the memories that you have of him and the stories that you can share with your other loved ones.
I'm very sorry about the loss of your mom and pray your memories of her are good ones to ease the pain of her passing. Y'all both had me crying like a baby over here. Now that I've wiped my eyes, I want to build an ofrenda for my mom.
Thank you so much!! Oh no I'm so sorry to hear about your mom... thank you for sharing with us such personal moments. I lost my dad pretty recently too and I relate with the grief and loss. You guys are awesome reactors and fun and nice people to watch movies with.
So sorry for your loss 😔 We hope you are able to heal from this and find peace. 🕊️🙏🏽Our condolences to you and your family. It is extremely tough losing a parent and we are still grieving and healing from it all. This movie reminded us of the importance of sharing passed loved ones stories and keeping their memory alive! Glad you enjoyed our reaction and think we are fun to watch movies with 🥹 stay tuned for more! 😁
I lost my twin sister at the end of 21' and it's something I've still not been able to properly grieve about due to life "lifing" so this movie along with a number of others always hits me a little hard.
This is the first reaction I have seen from you guys. I always cry with this movie, but this was a different experience. Watching you connect with the story was beautiful.
Thank you for checking us out! We usually try and share our thoughts on the plot of whatever it is that we are watching but this movie was on another level! We resonated with this one so much! Even watching this back editing it has us crying all over again 😭😭glad you enjoyed!
Beautiful. Always remember those you've always loved. Tell your kids the stories of those who came before them. It's important. I'm Mexican, but the story in this movie is for everyone. #NeverForget
Yes, we agree! It is very important to keep the memory of those who are no longer with us. It does bring some sadness thinking back on them but also it brings great joy sharing the memories you have of them. We can't ever forget!
Out of the songs in this movie, my favorite is "Un Poco Loco", which translates to "a little crazy". Also, speaking as a Mexican-American, this movie is pretty factual to real-life preparations/mythos for El Dia De Los Muertos, or the Day Of The Dead. Especially with Dante's role. As a breed of dog called a Xoloitzquintli (zo-low-eats-queent-lee), he has a role of being a spirit guide through the afterlife.
My best friend of 24 years is Mexican and actually lives in the city that Pixar used as the basis for the City of the Dead, Salamanca. She said the alley where Imelda first sings to Miguel is in Salamanca down to the last detail along with many other locations in the movie, which is just so cool to me. She said it was sold out for WEEKS because it was such a fantastic representation of the culture, and I can believe it. When my grandmother passed away my friend put her picture on her family's ofrenda, and it's still there 18 years later. It's such a beautiful culture.
When this movie came out my whole family went to the movies together to watch it was the only time in my whole life my abuelita went to the movies with us
I think Imelda was talking about the time right after Coco's birth when Hector wanted to go on tour with Ernesto. She probably was angry that he didn't stay to raise their daughter together, instead he went on the road again. That's the meaning behind her sentence "and so what if it's true?" I just found you two and my heart is melting! You have such warm beautiful hearts, I'm gonna cry! 😢❤ Subscribed ❤❤❤
Yes it is understandable that she would still be hurt and upset but glad she softened up and accepted Hector back into the family 😁Thank you for subscribing! This movie got us extremely emotional with everything that has happened to our family, we are glad you enjoyed our reaction! 😁
This movie made me cry. Remember Me is my favorite song. It was very emotional and beautiful. I wish I could see my family members who passed away 🎵🎵🎵😢😢😢💗💗💗
Remember me is such a beautiful song! Much better the original way it was MEANT to be sang, not Ernesto's rendition. It would be great to see loved ones who have passed and to know they are around even just once a year enjoying themselves with family! 😭This movie made us so emotional!
I lost both my grandma's a year apart from eachother. One in 2022 and the other in 2023. And my one grandma's two friends died in 2022 too. My mom said my grandma's friends took her with them because the trio needed to be together borrowing cans of beans to eachother. So I can relate to this movie.
We appreciate that! Hope to see you on future reactions! And they ar definitelyyy watching and gossiping amongst each other but it's nothing but LOVE! 🥰🥰
You all aren't saps... you have pure hearts! My Dad passed when I was 8, and now at 38, my son said he feels like he's MET him... because of how I keep his memory alive!
30:50 This is why I'm a musician....music truly does heal and bring people together! THAT IS WHY I EXIST!!! That's why Coco has a VERY special place in my heart!!!
put some offerings ,like we do in mexico it has nothing to do with religion but it cure your souls, and keep their legacy of your love ones go on and can live on in your lives and live forever never forgotten
I really enjoyed watching Coco with you, and it is definitely one of my all-time favourites.🎉 When Hector is back together with Mamá Imelda and Coco at the end, he is wearing shoes as for most of the movie he didn't have shoes on.
We appreciate you watching with us! Yess such a great movie! Thank you for pointing out the shoes part! So glad that Hector is reunited with his family!
The guy who said "What did I miss?" is voiced by director Lee Unkrich (who also directed Toy Story 3, co-directed Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc. and Finding Nemo, plus being the editor of Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2 and Finding Nemo. He, along with John Ratzenberg (who voiced Juan Ortodoncia, the guy whose dentist puts his picture on his ofrenda and says "Gracias.") are the only two voice actors in the movie not being mexican or hispanic.
What Ernesto means with that he hoped Miguel would die real soon is so that they would meet again and spend afterlife together, though it was pretty clumsy for him to say that he wished Miguel would die real soon as usually it's an awful thing to say (unless someone really deserves it, like Hitler did). It is the thought that counts and in Ernesto's case it was pretty sweet (and it would have been if Miguel and Ernesto really was related and if he didn't murder his best friend to get his guitar and songs).
This is a really great movie, we slept on it the first time but this time we were not ready for all the tears and emotion! 😭😭 glad you enjoyed the reaction! 😁
Even if it seemed like De La Cruz died again when the bell crushed him, that didn't kill him a second time. There's only one way to die in The Land of the Dead and that is to be forgotten. I also don't believe that he'd be forgotten because A. He had been in movies so wouldn't be forgotten. He'd be remembered by movie fans and historians like you read about a person from the history books like Napoleon, William Shakespeare, Christopther Columbus etc, so he'd never be forgotten. B. He might have lost his fame but since the truth was found out about him, he'd be remembered as a murder and for stealing someone else's songs. In either case, Enersto lost the very thing that he wanted and had for 50-70 + years, his fame and he had to spend the rest of his afterlife with no one praising him anymore, love him or come to his parties anymore.
We appreciate it! ❤️it has been rough but the beauty is in the memories of our loved ones who are no longer here with us! We think we will remember our loved one son dia de los muertos! ❤️
