Like the bed lift, but if you cut the mattress 6" shorter (van side to van side) and added a second (removable) upholstered rectangle cushion, you could remove both rectangles for storing items, but have the mattress darn near touch the roof. You'd pick up 6-8" of previously wasted space, which in a van build is a lot.
Love the counter tops , nice job . I'll keep you in mind when I get enough nerve to sell my house and move into a van , I'd buy one of those electric ford transit though
Those are going to be sick!
It’s finished! You never seize to amaze us 🤩
Thanks my dude!!
GREAT JOB😍
Thank you!!!
Awesome Job!
Thank you Michael
Love, it exactly what I planned on my head
Nice!
Thanks for the tour! Looks like a build to meet the needs of your client.
I suggest checking with your liability insurance and/or lawyer (which I'm not!) as I am quite certain that the seat belts you installed will expose you to a serious lawsuit in the case of an accident. Not to mention coming to realize you contributed to a person being injured.
I know that's not your intention.
I would *not* let my child sit there. There are lots of very affordable Transit seat pull-outs that are safe when mounted properly.
Nice setup
Thanks!
Looks good.
Thanks Patrick !
Love the colors. Nice build!
Thank you!!
I love the way you built this van. I’m thinking I may just build mine very similar to what you did on this. Thank you and keep up the GREAT job !!!
Right on! Good luck Troy!
This build was quick! Can not wait to see what your thoughts are on high roof transit next!
I’m stoked for the high roof!!
Damn man crazy how fast you pumped this one out! Looks even better than the last van too!
Thanks brother!
Very nice! Really like the wood and colors used.
Thanks!!
Such a cool van idea with the bed lift. Can't wait to see what you do next.
That bed is sweet!!
Such a pro
Thanks brothah
Dope 🙌🏼
The whole thing is splendid. I wonder about what type of 'carpet' you used around the windows. Do you have a video in which you explain how you installed that?
Its an auto carpet from perfect fit vans and no video yet. One day I will
Great build! Thanks for inspiration and knowledge you share.
My pleasure!
Did you make a video of how you made the drawer for the fridge? I have the larger Dometic chest fridge and I am figuring out the best way to make a drawer for it. This is what I am most curious about: did you use the a/c plug or the dc plug? If you used the dc plug, did you wire it directly into the distribution panel or add a cigarette lighter socket? What strength drawer pull-outs did you use? Did you cut a vent into the side of the drawer?
1)Sorry I didn't not make a video, I hired a cabinet maker so he built it.
2) I used DC and plugged it into the fuse block with 12AWG and 15amp breaker
3) I don't remember the strength, I wanna say 100lb drawer slides.
4) yes I did
Looks great, probably gets easier to build once you know what works and have done it many times. The lower cabinets and chest fridge are awesome!
Absolutely!!! This van took 58 days to build. Pretty sweet
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds are you able to say the build cost? Just curious with compared to what others cost.
@@50whatnomadtravelnursemtb5 the materials were just shy of $12K
This is a great video. Is there any way you could do another short video on how you did the wiring (and what wires/cables you used) to the front 12v as well as how you hooked the Goal Zero up to the fuse block?
Already did :) I believe I posted 2 or 3 weeks ago!
I LOVE your vans, but I wish you'd either invest in the yeti car link or switch to a Bluetti or ecoflow product for the charge times. But you do really great work!
Thanks Charles!! Haven’t looked into the car link. Thanks for watching my videos !
I'm surprised a mountain biker wouldn't want some sort of shower, even if outside. Good job of video showing it off.
He said he was going to buy some sort of water port or rinse kit type of shower. one thats portable and can be removed
Wow. Nice end results sir!
Thanks so much!
My favorite part is the window framing by the bed. Love how deep they are. Love how open and efficient everything is, too. She's a real beauty.
How was it working on a transit? Was it very different?
The transit was great! This was a mid roof, so my back is still recovering lol but other than that I enjoyed it
The linear actuator you linked to is not available. Do you have any others you would recommend? I think the ability to lift your bed and having all that space is a game changer in case you need to use your van for hauling furniture from Ikea.
These are the only ones I've worked with so I can't really recommend others. Sorry the linked one is no longer available!?
Looks AWESOME…. 👏👏👏
Thank you :)
I’ve been watching your videos and contemplating building my own. I am confident that with my skills I could make a real nice rig, but I am worried about the day it comes that I want to sell it. I would hate to spend the money and do it right but have trouble selling it not being built by a recognized brand.
If you post on vanlifetrader you won’t need to be a recognized brand. I wouldn’t consider myself widely recognized and I got 3 offers on mine. Best of luck to you :)
very very nice can you please tell me where you found your reading light thank's
Right here! :) amzn.to/3xQYu9b
I love this but wish this van had a shower and closet space.
This van was a custom build for a customer. They requested no shower!
Okay 👍
Good job dude!
Thanks brother
Any chance you can make a video about making different attachments. Cabinets to floor/walls, etc. thanks
I just attach them to the framing pieces!
Very nice job (again)! What a game-changer for your client having that bed lift in there.
It looks like you used different swivels for the seats in this van than you used in the Promaster. What brand are they, how easy were they to install and how do they compare to those other swivels overall? Please forgive me if this information was in a previous video that I may have missed.
Thanks Wendi!! These swivels were installed by Ford when he ordered his van, so I didn’t install them and I’m not sure what brand they are!
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds Thanks!
Awesome van!
Thanks!
Algorithm helper. :)
Thanks Jay!
Great workmanship...I'm curious about your wood choices.....can you say what type of plywood etc you use and why? I want to build a van out but worry about the end look of using plywood without using the iron on type edge to hide any imperfections...thoughts..???
Thanks for your opinions on this....
All the framing is standard sanded ply and the cabinets are birch. There are multiple ways to cover the edges of plywood. Edge banding is one of them!
Hi Colton! Can you tell me where you purchased your seat belts?
Here you go!!
amzn.to/3yo0DcJ
I have a High Roof Transit on order. Hopefully it will come......some time. I'm anxious to see your build. How do you get your vehicles? Thanks and have a Merry Christmas season. Stay warm.
Congrats!! These next few builds are all custom builds. So people are bringing their vans to me!
Excellent build, love the counters. Do you mind sharing the tape of wood & finish used? Is the whole counter the same thickness or just around the edges. Always worried about weight. Thanks!
It is the acacia countertops from Home Depot!
Another nice build. I'm currently making a chest type fridge cabinet with a drawer. Is there any concern about airflow around the chest type fridge?
Nope the back is open and the cabinets is mostly open!
Awesome Build!!!
How'd you do the fridge slide out? Do you have a video or another video you watched to mirror?
Thanks!!
I actually hired someone to build these cabinets. But he used either 100lb or 200lb drawer slides and had the fridge sit on a tray that slides out. Then he built a basic frame around it so he could put a face frame on it
Beautiful 🌺 keep farward
🤙🏻
12th van builder with 'tons of space.' We gotta talk about this. Link to bed?
Did you use mdf boards on the walls?
A lot of wasted space above the windows where cabinets should have been IMO of course. Looks nice though :)
It’s tough with the mid roof transit. There’s only roughly 6-8” above the flare space to its limited
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds It's an odd shape and kind of shallow but it is a little more usable space and in my opinion it makes that area look better.
@@timallbritton3716 the customer is planning on putting hooks and stuff above. So I’m letting him decide where he wants those!
Did you consider adding a shower / toilet?
This was a custom build and they asked to not have a shower and toilet :)
What kind of swivel did you use for the transit?
I buy them from sprinterstore.com
I enjoyed your video and the Van build in general. However, I didn't see any Bath Room (Toilet & Shower) or the Driver's Seat swivels to where. Also, how do you use the bed when the Bikes are inside the Van?
Overall, these comments have to be judged against the price compared to vans with more features! I am sure your Van has a following the Marketplace.
This was a custom build. The customer is using it for weekend bike trips. So he didn’t want a toilet or shower. And the drivers seat does have a swivel.
Not everyone wants a toilet and shower :)
What seat swivel did you mount on?
Are the flare spaces insulated? Noticed that on a lot of builds and worry about my head/feet not having any insulation.
The only insulation on the flare space is the auto carpet, the purpose of the flare space is to maximize the width of the van so if you started insulating and framing it out, you'd lose some of that width. Its all a give and take haha
@ankeneyvanbuilds How wide are the two seats? 16 inches? seems small but i'd like to squeeze them into my build.
Also, can you post a vid of the rv latches and you making or how the pull out table works?
These ones were I think 18” but I would recommend anything less that 20”
Also I have a video discussing the pull out table! It’s the “how to make a van bed”
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds thanks bro! Where are you based?
@@marioflows-travelchannel2373 Boise!
Why no prices?
What yeti model did you use? Will the system you have run an AC?
I’ve used the 1500 and 3000 series. Both have AC
How much does it cost to convert a van like this? I'm willing to pay. I just need a service that isn't going to charge half the value of the truc to do so. I'm financing one of the vans soon. Would love to know before choosing a van.
The materials in this van was just under $12k!
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds
Could we get & stay in touch? I'll be saving up money over this next year and I'm willing to buy the parts and pay for labor if you're interested!
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds My only concern is I'd like a different kind of bed. I weigh 400lbs and I don't think those motors would hold up. But, if this is what you do I'd seriously love to chat more about it!
Lovely! Curious to know how much a build like this is? How was it insulated? What year van and is it AWD?
It’s got 3m thisulate. And it’s a 2021 AWD!
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds Did they supply the Van? Cost for the build?
Hi. How much does this van build cost?
This was a custom build. So the owner of the van brought it to me to build
Another ford??? And then a mercedes?... Its like I don't even know who you are any more!! 😭😭😭😭...lol dunno, I comment to get you out there more, cause your howtos are damn good and it's like a thank you.. BTW did you just say woopa$$toe? I know its a heating system, just the way you said it lol oh hey! And with the power of video editing the bed raises and lowers faster!
Hahaha I know I’m sorry! Webasto is a fun word to say lol
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds awesome build and you did that fairly fast. How long did it take you from start to finish?
@@Tracor3k99 58 days!
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds I thought it was a month but my sense of time is very bad. That's still quick!
What’s the size of the bed?
RV Queen. 60” X 75”
A mercedes sprinter after? Gettin some more business, I see.
Yes sirrrr
Im new here stat connecte ❤️
Right on
