  • I just returned from picking up these engines in Fredericktown, OH where Butch Cherrington (The38AC on RUclips) worked his magic on them.

    Some nice toys you've got there.

      Thank you. I go through obsessive phases where I have to learn everything about a topic which fascinates me, and these Listers really got me good. Something primal about an extremely simple prime mover which will run just about forever if taken proper care of is what really appeals to me. Some of these will probably eventually be sold, but I'll likely hold onto the genuine Listers for a while unless someone makes me an offer I can't refuse. In the meantime I'm intending on building generator sets out of the two Indian made Listeroids and the Wisconsin.

      @@sonykhan1196 I'm sorry but I didn't do the injector timing. Butch Cherrington did all the work on these engines. His channel is The38AC on RUclips.

    I have one of those wisconsin air-cooled engines on a hay press but I don't know how to fix the Magneto

    • @NoelBarlau
      @NoelBarlau  2 года назад +1

      I sent mine to Rudy Calin magneto repair in Minnesota. He's more than a little bit backlogged so if you need it done in a hurry you might want to check into other shops, but when the mag came back it was in perfect working order.

    It seems risky to chain those flywheels. The road vibrations and bumps could put undue pressure on those castings. I know they are big and heavy but if there was an imperfection you could have a bad day. Cheers

      Honestly, I'd rather figure out if there's a weak flywheel in transit rather than at 650 RPMs. Butch Cherrington himself supervised the loading and securing, and he said if the pilot thing doesn't work out I could always find work as a rigger. I took that as a very high complement coming from him!

    where did you get them from?

    • @NoelBarlau
      @NoelBarlau  2 года назад

      The Listeroid single, twin, and the Wisconsin came from a guy in Kentucky who posted them on the Lister Engine Forum. The Lister CS came from a guy in West Virginia who had collected a bunch of them while he was stationed in England and shipped them back. The small Lister next to the Wisconsin came from Butch Cherrington. If you're looking for a Lister, I suggest you contact Butch. He acquires, restores, and re-sells them occasionally. Butch is probably the #1 guy in the U.S. for Lister rebuilding, and does excellent work.

      @@BigBoss-mf7ff The only way I can figure out how to put you in contact without posting his personal info here is to have you join the Lister Engine Forum and PM him there. He goes by the38ac on the forum.
