One of the greatest videos in your channel! I’m living in Geneva (Switzerland) and bought a 981 Spyder a few months ago. First thing I did was to organize a road trip to the big three (Grimsel, Furka and Susten). Had similar feelings as you. What an epic drive!

I tested the Boxster GTS in 2015 and still miss it to this day. That sound is just so brutal and the drive is so engaging. To me a Boxster Spyder is one of the best Porsche's you could buy for sure.
Yeah I can imagine how you still miss it, for me its the same on the GT4. Drove one over a year again and to this day I think about it and how much I want one for my channel but still out of budget for now. Sound is pure excitement like you said.
+Cars with Luke ya I feel you. After driving that, you can't go drive a 718 and say "wow, this car is so much fun", because it's just lacking so much emotion compared to a 981 GTS or Spyder in my opinion.
I have a 2015 Manual Boxster GTS with X73 sports chassis suspension and ARB as the Spyder. Really love the GTS it's so much fun, but the Spyder looks mega. Maybe one day I'll upgrade but quite like my electric hood. Test drove a GT4 but it just didn't feel much different and I missed having the option to drop the roof.
For me THIS is the ultimate Boxster ever created! I`ve seen one at the dealer and it`s awesome! I`m so in love with the shape of the back roof picked from the Speedster Great content as always Luke 👍🏻

If someone is regularly going on trackdays, then the GT4 is the right choice, no doubt. Other than that, in my opinion the Boxster Spyder is a no-brainer: you get the same powertrain as the GT4 (-10 hp) plus the enjoyment of a cabriolet. Thoroughly enjoyed your mountain pass drive in the Spyder. I did a European delivery in my 981 Spider April 1, 2016, but most of the passes were still snowed in. I did enjoy driving through six countries in 23 days before shipping back to the states. Looking forward to more of your videos Luke.

Luke always has low thumbs down compared to other car bloggers, whatever you do no matter how good it will be there will always be thumbs down but it doesn't matter really. The locking diff and torque vectoring along with the mid engine and the turbo S steering rack really make this car. Turns in easily and if you give it some beans in a corner it spins around the corner even tighter.
Cant imagine the feeling it must have given you driving with this car on this pass. I was there in August driving and I really wanna go back now. The vid really gives me the feeling of driving on a pass again. Unfortunately no mountains here in The Netherlands
Amazingly roads I did it in my 10k 987 boxster , you don't have to spend 100k to enjoy these roads , same roof down wind in your hair ragging the hell out the flat six mid engine balance you do lose some power at altitude, would still love a spyder though Great movie

Didn’t know that but happy I do now. After the video I realised that although its down 20ps its actually lighter and in a straight line should be faster than the GT4 also. Gt4 is still the one for me on looks more than anything
A great endorsement. Both are phenomenal cars, but the GT4 is a more focused machine, with GT3 front and bespoke rear suspension. You won't be disappointed, but recommend you get one with the 918 carbon seats, Clubsport & PCCB.

Rom by the sounds of the test/prototype cars on the ring it sounds turbo to me. I hope I’m wrong but I think thats what Porsche will do next.

The car is amazing, but honestly, for me is the worst engine sound of a NA 6 cilinders, mabe because this only arrive to 7500rpm.

Not that it really matters but the spyder is down by 10..not 20 ;) but either way...after driving both I didn’t feel a difference in power
I think spyder over gt4 because spyders value will go up more at the time.
Well that's because he also has a GT3, so a GT4 would be redundant. Most likely he wanted a pleasant convertible.
