@@MoviesAreRad people are such haters 😂 I think it was maybe too gentle for the time it came out? I was even shocked by the twist! I was so immersed in the world the was created in that field that I was like "WAIT WHAT" And the "first" twist even got me. Maybe I was but a simple babe but the village was always good 😂💖
There is a book by Margaret Peterson Haddix called Running Out of Time that seems like a version of this. It’s a great book for about grade 5/6 and up. A girl doesn’t know she’s living in an old time village and being watched by the modern world, until someone gets diphtheria and there is no cure. She has to escape and get modern medicine. I read it to my class back in the day when I taught grade 5
I somehow missed watching this one. A thriller I enjoyed was Premonition, with Sandra Bullock. Horror I unfortunately can’t watch. My imagination is too vivid, or something. The line between real and imaginary is very tenuous and transparent for my brain.
THANK YOU! I have always blamed the studio marketing....
Good point!
I've loved the village since I saw it in theaters way back when. Definitely have a soft spot for the visual beauty and composition of this film
Right? It’s got so much going for it beyond “the twist.”

2007! It’s on the list!!!
You have absolutely convinced me that we need a sequel 😄 ... Side note, I am disappointed by the slander against "Lady in the Water"!
Sorry but I just can’t say anything nice about that one! 😬
Shoutout 😁
