I owned a 1958 Piper Apache PA23-160 for a few years back in the early 1990's. I flew it 300 plus hours. I loved that plane. It flew so nice. It had long range, good speed, economical fuel burn, very roomy and with Janitrol hearter nice and warm flying high altitude in winter. What a sweet flying and handling plane... I built my multi time which lead to my flying career.... Thank you Apache.
I used to fly cargo (bank checks) for a company named TDM Flight Center out of KRFD back in the 1988-1990 before law school and joining the Army. The Apache/ Aztruck was a fun airplane to fly
Not Many know that this aircraft is an actual Stinson . Piper purchased Stinson in 1949 . The first manufacturer was Consolidated Vultee ..Stinson division . Wayne , Michigan
Hi,,, good morning,,, thanks for your video ooohhh,,, this Pipper Apache,,, Take my mind on a memories in a visit at the little Airport in the City that l m live, there was just one like this also one DC Dakota were fun to be neer this aircraft,,, thanks for your atention,,, your friend Oscar de Pachuca HGo Estados Unidos Mexicanos,,,
My first twin engine Training. lake city 4250 ft. Performance with both engines running was anemic at best and single engine easy just plain scary. Moved to excalibur twin bonanza...
I was in the CAP many years ago and the senior leader said the apache would fly on one engine if the plane had only two passengers and was low on fuel.

Thank you for posting this airplane where my multi engine rating was born back in the 60’s, great to see. 👍👍👍. 3-3-22
Got my multi rating in one......great airplane!! Been flying my pa30 for about 13 years now. Great and economical..... love them both...
I have about 20 hours on an Apache160 and in the 20 hours I have a mag go and a fuel leak not a plane I enjoyed flying but I learnt a lot.
I still think they are one of the best looking twin engine airplanes ever built.

Almost. Piper bought Stinson. A strange looking twin came with the deal. Not very close to the production Apache
@@pauleyplayNot almost. He was right on target with his info. You don’t know WTF you’re talking about, TOOL!

Beautiful plane. Looks vintage.
Got my multi-engine in a PA23-150 at Travis AFB back in the 70s.

I did my multi-engine training in one. They may look like a fat albert but it is a very stable platform. It's like driving a car.
I know they are not the best performers but they are so cool.
Good morning to all from SE Louisiana 26 Jan 22.
Good Day from Yorkshire in England
That plan looks so cute
Thats what I thought, I was waiting to see Richie Cunningham hope out of it.
We called ours an "Apple Patch".
Looks just like the picture on the box!
Very neat plane!
Looks like a potato with wings, but it flies. And it's still flying after 50 years. That's the the main thing.
👍👍 I have a 58 160 model too.
Such a cutie!
I got my multi in the Apache’s big brother the Aztec.
Awesome
Mas é linda essa aeronave !!!!
Many people like too
Que Avião Bonito 😍😍😍
I wonder how many people know it was originally a Stinson. Piper bought the design of the airplane when Stinson went out of business.
Nice.
Is that an old Aztec? It's fun to see the older planes that aren't made anymore 🙃 🙂
Apparently apache and aztec are different aircraft
@@baldyflier True, different.
The Aztec evolved from the Apache didn't it?
@@billkea7224 Yeah, it has a stretched nose and a couple of general changes over the Apache. Oh, and it has the 235/250hp moneydrinkers.
@@billkea7224 Sort of Apache that grew up
