In the days before health and safety a guy at my school in old Rhodesia built and flew one of these. Nowadays it would make headlines. In those days it was taken for granted a schoolboy could do it.

So what exactly is a "Condor 137R".To me it looks like a Cessna 140A that somebody grafted a radial engine onto.

In 1955, a guy with a Piper Cub at Marble Canyon AZ had wings with SPLATES. Plywood with a oval profile fastened to the wing after the tips had been cut off. He claimed to have better lift while flying the canyons of the Colorado River in hot weather. This was the history of the winglets seen on todays jets. I have heard that the guy who patented the concept, tried to get attention for over 20 years until Boeing finally developed it? Iguana
