I learned that over 20 years ago when this preacher in Portland, Oregon tried to make sexual advances toward me. I was a teenager (but not a minor) when he first approached me. It took him about a year and a half before he did so. He tried to groom me in to making me think he was so concern for my soul and my spiritual well-being. He would always tell me how feminine i was because I didn’t sit a certain way and was always groomed and smelling good. To him that was “effeminate” as he would say. When he couldn’t get me to move in with him so he could try whatever he felt he could, he told me that the “Holy Ghost” told him to cut me off. What these young men are saying lines up (almost exactly) to what that guy tried to do to me. However, there was no sexual intercourse of any kind. However, he did touch me several times inappropriately and tried to blame me for his flesh getting weak and that it was mutual. He always had teenage boys around him that were emotionally attached to them. Most of them were very nice boys. Some were feminine and some were not. This person is still pastoring and calls himself and apostle. Perhaps he has repented and gotten it right before God. But I still deal with this psychologically 20 years later to this day. I had to go to therapy a few years ago as a result. He was always telling me he loved me as if it were some type of spiritual thing. As a young man I did not understand what he was doing. Now, years later, I see what he was doing. He was very controlling, acted as if he was the most anointed person on earth and was always touching us on our heads. Even tried to snuggle up with us, making us think he was just a gentle affectionate man as Jesus was. It was a whole hot mess. I hope those young men are doing ok these days. I pray for healing!

I agree, but he shouldn’t have touched the other guy like that. I understand he was trying to explain how the pastor touched them, but you can’t just run up and touch a sexual abuse survivor like that. Especially if that’s how the abuser touched them? You can tell that the guy was uncomfortable.

When i was around 23 years old there was a married man who told me that he loved me and he was my land lord. Sometimes that guy was always trying to touch me stuff like that, he told me that he loved me, trying to be my friend stuff like that. I told him hey sir i don't go that way and i love girls. I was very upset about that, i really can't blame these young man.

The saddest part of this, outside of the abuse and manipulation, is that you can tell that these young men sincerely loved this man and looked to him as a Father, even after he violated them. When I look at Eddie Long now, I see judgement all over him. But these poor young men probably don't even feel fully vindicated when they look at him, but sorrow and pity for him because they loved him as a Father. I hope before Long dies, he comes clean about the horrific things he did to them and offers them the apology they deserve. God doesn't sleep Eddie. You will not get away with what you did to them.

Very eloquently spoken. I was a victim of a Pastor of another church. I went to my own Pastor for help, he urged me to chalk it up as a lesson learned, and to let it go.

I am so proud of these two young men for their candor and courage. Yes, each expresses his hurt and honesty in a different way, but each young man is sharing his experience so that others can know the truth.
The immature comments some have made on this video, especially the unfair remarks some have made about the lad in blue, proves that even when you tell the truth, fools will not appreciate the pearls you cast.

This is true, but we have to still tell our stories for ourselves, so the next young person can get the encouragement to tell the truth. Eventually, they will have to believe because it will then be many small voices speaking out loud.
I believe that it is very difficult for some people who have not been exploited and sexually violated to understand the various stages that an adult goes through after being sexually abused as a child. It takes a lot of resilience to live with sexual abuse, and to overcome the traumatic events. These two young men have shown great bravery by telling their story in front of people who may disbelieve them. I commend them, pray for their continual recovery.

The young man in the blue is just hurt and very angry because he esteemed Eddie long as a father figure and he took advantage of him. The young man just needs to be healed and delivered. A lot of adults take advantage of youth who are vulnerable and looking for love and validation from someone and its unfair. I believe these men, its just this situation affects each one differently. Some can move on easily, others cannot right away.

After nearly 20 years dominating Cincinnati talk radio, I have learned that victims react differently. You cannot predict a victims behaviours. The human brain is unique in all of us, and it deals with stress according to a system than NO man has full understanding of. I AM THE KING OF TALK!
Nathan Ivey- well said. There is no set way to cope with trauma, there are some positive avenues as well as negative pathways take. With that said no one can assign a true method of displaying traumatic symptoms- the symptoms exemplify themselves uniquely in all.

Peodophiles groom their victims and it sounds like this man was good at grooming.. It is very brave of these young men to come forward and face the guilt and the consequences of their actions. For an out of court settlement to be made to all of them says all that needs to be said.
Also, think about what it feels like to trust someone and find out that they were playing you. Even in everyday situations we don't like that. Now imagine someone is promising to step in the shoes of an absent parent and you find out they were grooming you and you were merely an open opportunity to them. That's the rejection from your absent parent resurfacing all over again. I'm glad the dude in the blue realizes that he will require counseling to move on, because he most certainly will. Even if he didn't penetrate one of these young men's bodies, he did spiritually rape them. God will deal with this situation accordingly. These dudes are hurting. Thank God, I have never experienced this, but I feel them. I really want to cry watching this.
