Ray is priceless. His comments and quips that he makes throughout the show are hilarious, and when it's not noticed by john or other panelist it makes it even funnier. Dont stop great awesome Ray!
Jason Momoa doesn't even remotely resemble Arthur Curry from the comics. Not in looks or personality. He basically plays what he plays in every movie which is himself.
Sat through Rebel Moon with an open mind - A few bits were o.k, but generally really dissappointed. It looked so fake like playstation cut scenes, and yes the dialogue was lousy. Awful film - How did this get released as finished ...with a straight face??
Rebel Moon starts really well. The first act is exquisite. Then act 2 kicks in and its a totally different movie, here are these characters and they ALL mean NOTHING the big moments have little impact because of it and the end is SO by the numbers it easily ranks as terrible. Zack's a busted flush at this point.
Zach Snyder is over rated. Yes he has some interesting visual design concepts, but the man is so high on his own supply, he's just not all that he's cracked up to be.
Style is like icing on the cake. It’s can be innovative, flashy, even a game changer that pushes the art-form forward. But without the cake, the first bite of pure sugar icing is delicious, gives you a sugar rush. The second bite is less enjoyable, and basically only psychopaths would back in for a third. But a really good cake without the icing, is still delicious. Good storytelling with out stylization is still good. Good story with a unique and iconic style is great storytelling. But there’s not enough styling in this world that can make up for bad storytelling.
I am so sick of this epic length movie bull crap. All these directors like scorsese, nolan, aster, chazelle, or scott putting out 3 hour films cause they think that makes it "prestigeous", the audacity of james cameron, thinking he in any way deserved it for avatar 2, but i can't stand in the least how zack snyder keeps exploiting this delusion, and his rabid foaming fanbase keeps eating this crap up. Watchmen, BVS, Justice League, now THIS needs an ultimate cut??? You're already getting sequels! How much more movie do you need!? And this is netflix! Why couldn't you just put that movie out in the first place!? This is not an artistic choice. It is a blatant cash grab, and i might respect him more if he admitted that. He deliberately balloons budgets, shoots scenes he knows he won't need, and when they inevitably cut them, he uses his clout to keep milking these franchises for all they're worth, under the thin guise of being a misbegotten artist. "This is my vision, man! You gotta respect the arts, man! This is how you're supposed to watch it, man!" Such bullshit.
According to many Snyder Fans, you cannot give this film a negative review unless you have a strong anti-Snyder bias, or are paid off. This review, therefore, is dishonest. 😂 Some people are so immature.

Just a heads up, Cedric and Wilmer were only tapped to announce the Golden Globe nominees on December 7th, they were never tapped to host the awards in January, and so were never “replaced” by Jo Koy. Great show guys!
Peaches is a terrible cringe song and is sung as a parody of pop ballads. It's fine in the movie but does not deserve an award. But you are correct it's at least part of the movie rather than some phoned-in awful crap music that is played during the credits. Songs in the credits should not be up for an award for "movie song". Movie songs should include individual tracks from the score. Like Flight from Man of Steel.
Netflix defo shot themselves in the foot by not releasing this ‘directors cut’ as the actual cut of the fuckin movie😂not saying it’s gonna be an all time great but sounds like there was a lot missing in this cut
I actually really liked "Rebel Moon." Most of the time, my taste in movies align with John's reviews and view on movies, so I was trepidacious when I started watching this movie, but it's influence of "Seven Samurai/ Mass Effect 2" seemed like a good mix to me. I thought out of Snyder's movies it wasn't better than Snyder's best movie "Man of Steel," but I liked it better than a good movie that he directed too (Army of the Dead).
This movie was garbage. I would like a Netflix to refund me the time I spent trying to find the point of this story. The movie leaves off on a cliffhanger that I’d rather fall off a cliff for.

I don't see how the "Director's Cut" can save Rebel Moon. In the interviews before and at release Zack Snyder was talking about he has full creative control for Rebel Moon so I cannot see how his involvement cannot be part of the problem. Even if it was Netflix that wanted the PG13 cut of the movie it was still put together by Zack Snyder for this isn't a Justice League situation where executives hired someone else to cut and alter the movie for release. I am expecting with the director's cut there are just more things that aren't allowed in a PG13 cut with language, violence, nudity, and sexual content. My favorite Zack Snyder movies are Dawn of the Dead (2004), Watchmen, and Man of Steel and what those movies have in common is that Zack Snyder didn't write them or have the role of director of photography which I think are the areas where my problems lie with both Army of the Dead and Rebel Moon. I am glad to hear there are people that like this movie, but I have no interest in the directors cut or part 2 since my understanding both parts were filmed at the same time and I am skeptical the areas I didn't enjoy could be fixed after shooting is complete.
37:02 I'm going to take a stab at what some of the Snyderbots will say to attack John for his disloyalty: Disney has brought him off He's butthurt that the Marvels flopped He had a falling out with Zack Snyder & now is going trash him from here on out -Probably a couple more theories in there but these are the ones that immediately came to mind
Yup. Hell, in the live chat some of them were (surprise!) saying that Marvel AND WB paid John to trash it.😆 Man… I’d like to believe some of these reactions are sarcasm, but of course many in that fanbase truly believe this stuff. Sheesh
FWIW, the Asteroid City song is in the movie, sung by characters, and one of the most memorable parts of the film. Regarding Peaches--I enjoy that song in the Mario movie, but I think the great thing about it is Jack Black's performance, not the song itself.
This is not a bad movie at all!!!. Its not a great movie either, but it's a fun enjoyable movie. The action is great, the acting is good. Yes, the story is familiar but enjoyable. The movie delivers on it's promise of an action packed fun movie. The critic are being overly critical. Could the movie have been better?...yes...but it's still beautifully well made movie. JOHN AND CRITICS TAKE A CHILL PILL!!!!. YOU'RE HURTING THE STRUGGLING MOVING INDUSTRY BY BEING OVERLY CRITICAL!!!. This was never meant to be an Oscar worthy contender! P.S I'm not a Zack Snyder fanboy. I just call it like I see it.
Rebel moon is a cgi mess, narration whilst showing visuals not necessary and very basic storyline. The fight scenes are good and the lead actress is amazing, she loooks great, she should be the next Alien lead!
I’m so pissed that rebel moon didn’t provide some main character development which pisses me off even more that we didn’t get longer version now- doesn’t mean it would be better but maybe I would give a shit about end scenes - dialogue terrible as well. Disappointed as a whole 😢
Just watched Rebel Moon, mother of God it was the most generic low quality SciFi bollocks I've seen for years, brought nothing new, just stole ideas from other franchises and stuck them together in one big clusterfuck, utter shite
Just watched Rebel Moon and I give it a thumbs up. It was the most Snydery of Snyder films to be sure. Great visuals and a fairly coherent story that was easy to follow. 7/10
My favorite Zack Snyder movies are watchmen, 300, dawn of the dead(2004) and my #1 being Man Of Steel. These are films that I look at as being good films. I loved his cut of justice league and BVS but I understand those two films have their flaws and they’re not for everyone which is why I don’t consider them great films, despite my personal enjoyment, Just like I enjoy transformers: revenge of the fallen but that film is fucking atrocious.
Synder can't get out if his own way and tell a coherent story. Everything felt rushed and never given enough time to develop anyone. It's just admittedly cool sequence to the next cool sequence introducing a new character similar to the Seven Samurai but not nearby as interesting.
@@batmanvsuperman_ Well seeing as how I've defended Synder more times than i probably should have that's highly unlikely. If somethings bad it's just bad.

Not a Zack fanboy AT ALL. But Rebel Moon was a lot of fun. Enjoyed it and looking forward to the next chapter. I have a sneaking suspicion it’s going to be one of the biggest on Netflix. Dialogue was meh but action was great and overall story was fun.
I watched it and I wasn’t surprised or sad that the blood axe gang including is leader were wasted after 5 minutes of screen time. They volunteered as tribute, went on their first adventure with korra and got desecrated by the big boss from street fighter 2. They were basically npc’s. Netflix basically said we have Star Wars at home and it was the store brand version nearing its sell by date.
There was so much hype for these movies, maybe part 2 will be better? Apparently the combined budget for these movies was only 166m, so basically 80m apiece, maybe that is contributing to why it fell short..
i saw a post on Facebook bout the Russel's involvement with the Last Starfighter, i left a comment n supposedly Kurt Russel liked it so idk, but i'd be down with it
Here's the thing, with all the bad reviews Rebel Moon is getting and knowing that there's another version of this movie that is completely different, why the hell would I want to watch this one? When Justice League came out, I didn't like it. Then, they released the Snyder Cut. Which I had no interest in because I didn't like the theatrical cut. I don't want to waste 2+ hours watching a movie I probably won't enjoy and then potentially waste another 4 hours on the director's cut. Pass. Swing left.
Snyder is one of my favorite directors. I love his style, flair, and cinematic vision. That being said- he has been extra hit or miss these days. And Rebel is utter and complete trash. Like I honestly don't know what he was thinking? He needs to get back to man of steel, justice league cut, 300 form. Because he make some incredible films. But lately he seems to have lost it. Really hoping his next project is more in line with man of steel quality. He used to employ slow motion so well. Now it's really bad. If only he had been able to finish his version of the DC. O What could have been.
So Ray clearly liked Rebel Moon more than John. Interesting to hear that play out. I guess there’s a moon in the title…? But still, I think I’ll wait for the Directors Cut
The director guides the actor, but if you're gonna blame him/her when the actor gives a bad performance then you should also give them the award when the actor wins best actor.
Not a Snyder guy haven’t seen all his films. Just DCEU. But I thought it was good. Fun and enjoyable. It has its flaws and things could have been better thought as I watched but it has a core story and world it’s building on and there’s a ton of potential planted for it and room for something. I wasn’t sure how I’d like it but I don’t get those sayin it’s terrible and how it’s being blasted🤷🏻♂️. Seems those ppl came into it not wanting to like it.
Its not coming into expecting not to like it....honestly I gave it a chance and within the first 20 minutes I was like Wow this isn't any good but maybe it'll get better...honestly it never did for me!
Ender's Game is an adaptation of the 1985 novel of the same name and Future Man is practically a parody of The Last Starfighter + lots of other science-fiction films.
@@matiasdevaglia4541 Ender's game was a novel in 1985? For real? Is water wet? The last Starfighter came out in '84 which means it was in production since the late 70's. Seth Rogen tried to get the rights to TLSF, but couldn't so he did the next best thing...rip it off but make it a parody so you can't get sued. Seth Macfarlane did it with Star Trek/ The Orville. Family Guy is a rip off from Wait Till Your Father Gets Home (actually out before All In The Family) . Once upon a Time stole from Fables, Indiana Jones is a rip off of Allan Quartermain etc. hopefully you get the point.
Hmm... this kinda reminds me of the old days of Hollywood when some directors seemed to be totally incapable of making movies under 3 hours. Most of his movies always seem to be only better in the "Director's Cut" mode which extends the time to god knows when. Even Sucker Punch's director's cut was better with the better ending
I don't think it's bad story telling. I think that everyone is being way to snobby about this. It's an action movie from start to finish. It's not supposed to be deep and y'all are so upset about it. If this is how you people react to this stuff consistently we'll never have anything nice. Review bombing for no reason is such bullshit. Y'all are gonna hate the Warhammer 40k universe adaptations.
action movie doesn't mean it story should be bad. Story of rebel moon was not good at all, If your story is bad then no matter how cool visuals and actions you have it won't work.
Wtf... What is the bs critics about this movie! I realy enjoy this one, comparing to alot many sci fi movies the past years! Amazing music, amasing story , good VFX!
you snyder stan will always support anything he releases. Fk director's cut, if a director can't make a good movie in 2 hrs then he is not a good director at all. Big runtime and r- rated don't make everything better.
Honestly just watched this. The acting was god awful. The story! Oh boy the plot was so derivative, a straight up ripoff of the seven samurai, with a poor attempt at using the Hero's journey. So many clichés and troupes it was ridiculous. The accents are borderline racist. The lead character has as much charisma as a cardboard box. The cast is terrible, it an onsmble of all the worst bit part and TV show rejects. The "action scenes" were boring, contrived and unrealistic. The lead actor/ess didn't look like she could fight a child let alone a man 2x's her size and muscle mass, I loved the bits these goons had to stand and wait for her to hit them in slow motion as she was clearly not up to the action. Everything in this thing looks brown, it's like the camera filters on the lenses from 300 had been left on and it just made this look awful. Good 2023 has been an awful year for entertainment in general, this is just the cherry on top. I won't be watching part two and I have cancelled my netflix subscription after this, it's made me so disappointed.

i saw a post on Facebook bout the Russel's involvement with the Last Starfighter, i left a comment n supposedly Kurt Russel liked it so idk, but i'd be down with it
The movie was very basic.
Apparently Koy bombed lol.
Pass. Swing left.
The Snyder Cut is amazing compared to Justice League. All the bad stuff in that movie is Joss Whedon's fault.
snyder cut wasn't that great at all. All hyped up nonsense with just extra unnecessary scenes with some good scenes in between.@@jonathanpowell7256
O What could have been.
curious now about that one director's cut he claimed is entirely different than this version of Rebel Moon
Zack needs to work with Chris Terrio again.
No actors ever winning anything under Snyder
It's really bad
I like the lore, ideas, and outline of the Story of Rebel Moon. But did not like at all how the story was told. Very monotone imo.
Ender's Game and Future Man ripped off The Last Starfighter.
and those bombed too
Ender's Game is an adaptation of the 1985 novel of the same name and Future Man is practically a parody of The Last Starfighter + lots of other science-fiction films.
Ive only liked snyder when he does greek mythology based films, wouldnt mind him making god of war
Imma just wait for the snydersized cut
I like it so far
Your taste is the shits
I really enjoyed Sucker Punch; I can’t understand the hate.
Um, john...I am Man of steels biggest fan.
Is war not rape and pillage?
i really liked Rebel moon ... sue me

Hmm... this kinda reminds me of the old days of Hollywood when some directors seemed to be totally incapable of making movies under 3 hours. Most of his movies always seem to be only better in the "Director's Cut" mode which extends the time to god knows when. Even Sucker Punch's director's cut was better with the better ending
Its a movie about fish man, john?!! I loved it
Movie was okay, it just felt incomplete. Nearly every character was not developed at all.
Ok ? Sorry you must be obese.
I just watched it and its ok.
Hey John and crew! Just saw that the Creator is coming to my Disney +! I’m in Norway. So excited!
jo koi is hosting the golden globes?!? haha wow. the quality of hosts has def form way down ever since ricky gervais "retired" from it haha
Rebel Moon was good looking forward part 2 and the directors cut ... for others go watch Barbie
Yeah, sure. I'll give you that the visuals are great but the writing is absolutely garbage. The acting wasn't too great either.
@@darthstryk7169for real
Ah yes, there are two types of film fans.
I love Aquaman 2,IMO it was better than part 1
I don't think it's bad story telling. I think that everyone is being way to snobby about this. It's an action movie from start to finish. It's not supposed to be deep and y'all are so upset about it. If this is how you people react to this stuff consistently we'll never have anything nice. Review bombing for no reason is such bullshit. Y'all are gonna hate the Warhammer 40k universe adaptations.
If your intelligence wasn't insulted by this movie, it is because you are not over-burdened by that characteristic.
action movie doesn't mean it story should be bad. Story of rebel moon was not good at all, If your story is bad then no matter how cool visuals and actions you have it won't work.
Wtf... What is the bs critics about this movie! I realy enjoy this one, comparing to alot many sci fi movies the past years! Amazing music, amasing story , good VFX!
go bow down before snyder, you are a snyder stan through and through. Amazing story my ass.
The golden globes, entertaining show but useful as a scuba suit in a desert....ok....check.
Rebel Moon is a better film than Aquaman and the lost Kingdom. Wait until the directors cut. That will change your output. Thanks
Why does Snyder always need a directors cut. Can't he do what 99% directors do?
you snyder stan will always support anything he releases.
