Wow a new Sensor, that is larger and also a new mount LPL. Imagine all that light coming in. Oh, I was going to ask how this new mount would last but a lot of glass companies are supporting it.
As Rob wrote, 35mm full frame is a still standard, this is video or digital film if you will, traditional 35mm motion picture film is running vertical trough the gate compared with still film that were going horisontal. Full frame is a fucked up term these days, it has nothing to do with motion pictures. It was probably introduced trough still photographers who turned video shooters, a lot thanks to the DSLR revolution. APS-C and alike is full frame when talking 35mm film, this is large format, not iMax large but large like VistaVision. VV is thats actually 35mm film running horisontal just like still film, but I promise you, VV isn't a commonly used 35mm standard: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VistaVision
Pontus thank you for that explanation...I was confused why this is considered large format but the orientation of the image on the film is what I was forgetting!
74,000 is not a bad price. I can't afford it, but I'm sure studios can.
Brian-Marc Whittaker it's a really good price.
Cannot wait to see the next big block buster movie on this machine. Great job Arri
Finally, we'll see some Netflix stuff shot on Alexa. So much better than anything RED.
Why is RED preferred for Netflix right now?
So, one of the costliest Indian movies is going to use this camera, wow
It's not that expensive, even European productions can afford this, so I'm sure Bollywood can as well.
Bro €76K Not that expensive for Production Studios
More Arri-look on Netflix! Woohoo!
Serhan Meewisse what's arri-look?
Why is RED preferred for Netflix right now?
Movies filmed with this camera look like they were filmed with a cell phone.

RRR🔥🌊 Movie using first time in india
The camera price please by USD
Is this a 4X5 size sensor use on those ancient largeformat camera?
No. Even IMAX doesn't hit the large format camera sizes.
so all they announcing now is 4.5K Raw? i thought they gonna annoucne 8K
why do they call it large format? it's basically the same size as 35mm full frame
because '35mm full frame' is a photo standard and this is a video camera

How does this compare with the ALEXA 65?
65 can also shoot 6k I believe
So can the GH5 LOOOOL 6K anamorphic
It's almost the same, but 1/3 narrower.
holy shit
only €74.000,- for a basic model, that's cheap :)
+30k for accessories total over 100k
"Signature Prime" ? Is this car marketing ? This lens is an "LF Prime" : who needs to pay for a useless name ?
I'm still not exactly sure what the 'signature' arri look is, they've never produced their own lenses.
74k for a 4k camera
Pretty neat, but can it play despacito?
Realise a new film cámara allready arri you know people still shoot on film
What do film cameras even do? Dont they just advance the film and the image quality has not much to do with the camera.
My iPhone makes just as good video
Vivitar makes a better camcorder for less than $100!
Vivitar now thats a name I haven't heard in a while
