Haha thanks! Yeah waking up at like 3:30 isn’t always fun! It’s a fairly quick job with the right tools. Plus i think i did one side at a time on different mornings
@@TheGarrettZone i like em alot, can’t complain especially for the price. They corrected the ball joint angle where the stock ones looked like they were putting too much strain on the upper ball joint. You can’t really make adjustments to it tho like some of the other more expensive UCA’s but this seems to be doing just fine. Haven’t gotten an alignment yet because the 1 place i took it to so far was unable to lift the truck high enough to make adjustments however they said alignment wasn’t that off so I’ve been winging it till i get around to finding a good alignment shop as well as more knowledge on alignment specs.
I didn’t want to cut my plastic so i put a tourch up to it and used a 2x4 and push it were it needs to go. Good work by the way
Did all this before work, while the family was sleeping? Impressive

She's coming along nicely 👌 can't wait to see that front setup. Thanks for sharing 👍
Nice breakdown. I dont even own a GX but think about what I would do if I did own one.
I'll be on that mod before long ! Great post ! Looks like the right approach !
A grind and paint make me the welder I aint. I use a cheap harbor freight flux core welder with just the shielding gas got a lot of flapper discs.
Gonna grab the Dakar wheels bro! My roof rack just shipped too ! Woo hoo lol
Beautiful
How is the handling after the new tires are installed? did you have to regear the differential?
Id say that 295/70/17 was the sweet spot imo. Once I went to 315’s, it was the struggle bus.
Thanks for the video. Just about to do this to mine. 😮
Appreciate the video! I have the identical welding setup. Good unit
Use eye protection when dealing with power tools ;). Great DIY video
Yes eye protection is a must! ;) lol
Better yet, a face shield.. Speaking from experience I had a tool to fly on my face and cut my nose and eyebrow had to get stiches with.
Great work. Check out the Pakistani mechanics on RUclips... they use the same "build up and grind/lathe" technique you used here...
How much caster with the freedom UCAS?
I want to say it was around ~3.5 if I recall from the alignment sheet.
Great job dude, wish I had this level of mechanical aptitude. What UCA are you running?
Thank you! I went with freedom offroad UCA’s
@@MJAltairy how are they? Were you able to get it aligned with those UCA?

@@MJAltairy awesome thanks for the reply brotha 🤙🏼
Did u get this truck from Florida? Underneath is so clean and no rust. Mine is hard to look at it lol.
Lol no, previous owner kept it pretty clean. There was surface rust but i did alot of scuffing and spray bombed it with undercoating spray cans
Please ware safety glasses!
