@@tobiasstudtheol I get, from your tone, that you think I find fault with freelancing. Nothing further from the truth. Cross pollination is a powerful creative tool. If it is remunerative, all the better.
This is such a convincing performance of Bach's cantata using favoriti (soloists, not chorus). The physical placement of the instruments and voices looks right except maybe they would have been a bit further away in a church gallery somewhere up high. The use of soloists allows a lot of flexibility in tempo and expression which is beautiful. Beautiful!
Thank you very much for this beautiful comment! It would have been very hard being further away from each other, as now we already had mostly visual contact to trying to be together in this big cathedral.
@@EnsembleMusicaGloria I get it. I was not clear. I was thinking everyone goes up in the gallery including the instruments and conductor, which might be what bach did in the st Thomas kirche. it wld give the audience a different spatial experience of the music.
Bach the 5th Evangelist! Unstoppable! Our JSB just keeps on finding new contexts. From "rich and famous" (Mendel- sohn's solitary Projekt- Mathäuspassion in still napoleonic Berlin) .... to the blind Helmut Walcha's BACHstunden in Frankfurt being bombed to bits...and organist Walcha's having to switch on a dime to find another church 1) still in existence AND 2) with a playable organ. @@mst5171Well, there are period artists that have solved the problem either with lip or with natural trumpets with a lower fundamental. This result… might not have pleased Bach in those fleeting moments, IMO. No great matter, but let’s not pretend.
Isn't it great how the oboe and recorder imitate the cooing of the turtle dove in this loveliest of arias? (Thou wouldst not give to the enemy the soul of thy turtle dove).
Extraordinary, how astonishingly well executed. Who built this beautiful little organ? I am always looking out for proper continuo organs that aren't box organs...
Cadre propice. Belle interprétation. Voix envoûtante du ténor. Belle prestation de ce jeune ensemble prometteur.
Excellent performance! Always a joy listening to a young ensemble interpreting this wonderful music as it should be. Congratulations!👍🏼👍🏼
Enorm mooie muziek, liefdevol uitgevoerd!
The performance of the Arioso (11:52) is just brilliant! A delight!
Oh, oh ... more super music!! Always wonderful performances from Musica Gloria!! Thanks for sharing ... again!! [Greetings from Tucson]
....yes.....Superb.....and with Greetings from Acapulco!
Beautiful performance! And it's wonderful hearing the acoustic of the room.
Émerveillement. On est au paradis.
Superb music making by Beniamino and his wonderful musicians! And fantastic videography in such a beautiful church! Thank you! 🎶
so schön und anrührend
There is sth wonderfull about Bachs' early cantatas. More in the legacy of Buxtehude c.s. they are more varied in form than the later ones.
Me encantó.
Grandiosa interpretación.
Músicos maravillosos.
Muchas gracias.
Fantastic! What a privilege and pleasure to listen to such master work performed so well. I wish I could have been there. Thank you.
Fantastisch! Genieten!
Finally a good rendition of this perfect cantata on yt. Bravissimo!
Bravissimi, super!👍👍👏👏
Very nice. It must have been amazing to be in the room with the music coming from all sides.
Exceptional! Amazing singing wonderful playing. Absolutely perfect!
Thank you. Best offering of this early masterpiece yet.
heel mooi.....!!!
Wonderful! Thank you so much for uploading this.
Done with great pleasure! :)
Bravo!
Lovely, thank you!
Beautiful continuo playing in the tenor aria. But the whole performance is very nice!
Thanks!!
toujours bons!
Anne-Linde Visser, Elise Dupont & Matthijs van der Moolen are also members of the "Castello Consort". I've followed them since the beginning.
Let's be realistic. Freelance musicians have to survive somehow, and therefore, they usually certainly play in different ensembles.
We are also "Castello Consort" fans! ;)

@@petersturmey2789 I see! This cantata was performed in Mühlhausen, with most distinctive feature that the (instrumental) choirs were placed separate.

Thanks for your nice words! The concert took place in the Cathedral of Mechelen.

Beautiful performance! Are those both alto and tenor recorders? This cantata doesn't fit so easily on any one size recorder!

The trumpets😮
thats the sound of true natural trumpets (without tuning holes)

It's an organ from Manufacture d'orgues Thomas. If you send a message to musicagloria@icloud.com, we can send you more details.
