If only Reforged was given a fraction of this love.
I was left speechless after Gul'dan's vision with Medivh...
This feels like everything I wanted the warcraft films to be. I never really thought about what it would look like for the orcs setting up camp in the destroyed Stormwind. Ogrim's tenuous position as Warchief and Guldan being an untrusted prisoner are such interesting moments to see in action. Really love the work you guys have put into this!
What I don't get is the two of em stopping Medivh was way after the events of the flm.
@@beiberns I'm not sure about the old lore. But I thought gul'dan fell into a coma because lothar killed medivh while they were doing spirit a call. Then he wakes up mysteriously after some time has passed.
@@beiberns at the end of Wacraft 1 Human Campaign, Khadghar and Lothar search for Medivh and kill him. In the movie was changed a bit, they showed Medivh end fight scene in parallel with Gul'dan fighting with Lothar, but it should've been Doomhammer stopping Gul'dan and Lothar and Khadgar stopping Medivh. It's still cool how in the movie they showed the imporatance of Makgora and orc's honor.
Huge corporations are just terrible at world-building, they can only acquire stuff, but with all the corporate bullshit, talented people are too restricted in what they get to do with it. We have seen it with star wars and LotR and many others.
Writing grates a bit at times but still more passion for the lore than blizzard has displayed collectively in a decade of works.
I agree, the dialogs are a little overwritten
It makes those guys seem way too courteous for the uneducated warriors that they are😄
the visual part, though, is just amazing!
They have passion but they try to fuse together different parts of old and new lore and add stuff which were there never in either.
Also weird choices like nekros being member of shadow council as he left them before first war and during first war was only a Warrior and only started using warlock arts again after human severed his legg in first war and warlocks powers were needed for use of demon soul.
Or teron'gor living true first war as in every variant he died during purge of doomhammer.
Or trying to Make rend and zul'jin friends and rend and maim being in every variant mentally on Childs level.
@@johannessimola1615 In the case of Rend and Maim, this is faithfull to the lore. They were among the kids the warlocks aged-up with magic to boost the numbers of the Horde. They are litterally 10 years olds in the body of adults.
@@TheUrobolos I have to disagree they aren't as immature in their dialogue they should Be for example in events of BtDP maim was still on the level he repeated words rend said for example rend gave speech he was in azeroth to Teron gorefiend when orgrim fell and maim started repeating "I was here too" and rend was so immature he called Teron gorefiend "dead man" which shows his immature name calling side .
So they both should Be alot mentally younger and use expressions which makes them sounds childish not mature respectful language which they used for doomhammer and they kept Back talking to orgrim and second guessing him to his face because they were so immature.
@@johannessimola1615 Well, Teron was indeed a DEAD man. I think having them too stupid would instead underiine their role among the Horde Leader. After all, they ruled one of the Clans and in the lore they defeated both the Stormreavers and the Twilight's Hammer in the Broken Isles
This is so good, the vision scene and the SW throne room blew me away
It's such a good callback connection between Warcraft 1 ending human campaign and Gul'dan from W3, I was mindblown when I saw that cutscene.

Doomhammer needs to give Rend and Maim a Blackhand slap!
Amazing and so very believable! This cutscene could easily serve as outro to WC1, too, the devasted city of Stormwind is horrible for any Alliance player to see, while seeing the Horde banner there sends chills through every Horde player ... and even the banners of the individual clans!
Saurfang, Rend, Maim, Gul'dan and the rest are excellent characters and you introduced them very well. Orgrim shows a strength which easily makes him the center of every scene he is in.
If I have one point of critique, it is him not mentioning(to Saurfang) the dire situation they are in with so many resources and warriors lost. I'm not even sure if it is ever mentioned in the campaign that the clans of Draenor don't respond to his request(orders?) for their help.
Bravo gentlemen, this is a great work of love for the warcraft lore that we all share as a community.

The dialogue of the orcs is a bit too human for my taste though.
The orcs should talk more like brutes.
like at [04:05]-[04:12]. Rend should not be be saying "that is a very generous proposition, warchief" it's too eloquent.

Is throm'ka a more personnal greeting than Lok'tar ? Anyways, it's really a awesome work for amateurs, a professionnal team wouldn't have done any better. Which i'm not sure is a good thing.

Lok'tar is like a battlecry. Throm'ka is like a greeting.

The one you're thinking of is "Lok'tar ogar" or "Victory or death"; it is used as a greeting meanwhile on the battlefield.
Throm'ka is the one used for more formal meetings.

I would like to ask something. Shouldn't Teron' Gor be dead and then ressurected as a death knight by Guldan later? Or is it yet to come?
Thanks for the video. Can you tell me, please, what could be the reason that all missions are immediately open in my custom campaigns, even though I haven't even started playing them? The only exception is the Curse of the Forsaken, company for Sylvanas. In the rest, for some reason, all the missions are available at once.

Can anyone enlighten me why Medivh was talking to Gul'dan? Was he already corrupted by that time?
Short answer: yes. It is explained in one of the later chapters.
Anyone know how to resolve some of the units appearing white (untextured) and when I started the first chapter I couldn't see or click on my great hall or gold mine
you need to install more files. see the description on hiveworkshop
Check the installation instructions - besides the actual campaign, you also need the asset file and the asset installer. Place the installer within your Warcraft 3: Reforged folder and run it as an administrator (right-click with your mouse and select "Run as administrator). Once the installer opens, click on the "Load Resource" button and locate the asset file. When it's done installing, exit the installer and restart your computer. When you've done that, launch your Warcraft 3: Reforged client and start the campaign :)
Hopefully that gets translated into the SC2 arcade so it is saved from the crappy reforged models and animation
I guess it would defeat the purpose of having a very cinematic/modern experience with highly detailed assets. Personally, I got used to the graphics after a few hours.

I assume these are AI voices? Gul'dan sounds spot on with Frozen Throne voice actor. Doomhammer talking a bit slow, though.

No this project started way before AI voices existed, all fan voice acting.
No AI was used, and thank you! I am the voice of Gul'dan in this campaign for cut-scenes, and I'm humbled by your comment :) For the unit, it's the sound set from Heroes of the Storm.
nope! I'm one of the voice actors and there's a discord full of us. Some of them are really talented, Guldan being one of my favorites!
What I don't quite get is why the Horde is so much more popular than the Alliance. I'd much rather play the Human Campaign than the Orcs - at least the Humans weren't later retconned to suddenly being honorable

The point of the project was to expand it with current WoW lore and make it look and play like a modern game.
@@OutsiderXE ok ok cool. Is this official lore stuff we know happened from other sources, or did you guys have to expand?
@@TsunamiWombat I wasn't there at the original inception, but from my understanding, it was two separate projects in the beginning. One was more faithful to the original WC2; the other made up dialogue and cinematics based on what we know from WoW lore. When they decided to merge the projects they looked at the original WC2 maps stories, designed quests that made sense in those stories, added characters we know from official lore, made up the dialogue in a way that connects all events logically.
I don't know all the details, but from my playthrough there isn't much that looks or sounds made up. It might as well be an official remake.

I have some problems with the mod, the characters like Doomhammer are colorless, just plain white and the buildings are invisible and uninteractable.

It takes a lot of time and effort with all the new assets, audio, cinematics and maps and whatnot. I believe the human campaign will be released more quickly, since many things are already prepared.

I cant get this to work. The first mission looks like this and it's not playble. Any ideas? And yes i have tried loading the assets, running CSW installer etc.
I heard Reforged needs to be set to HD mode before installing, and after installation the PC must be restarted.
@@OutsiderXE I found out about it just recently. This works "Hey Guys, I just wanted to point out that I had texture issues on my PC when I used the TOD_Campaign_Assets.csw file the comes inside of the CSW - Installer and Assets.zip file. If you download the TOD_Campaign_Assets.csw file that is a separate download in the installation instructions from the wetransfer link. You will not have that issue."
And you dont need to restart comp, worked for me not to restart.

It definitely is. Though I wouldnt recommend Hard difficulty.

The first interlude (Act 2) is less than 10 minutes. Its a great cinematic. Faster paced with more movement and better camera angles.
The walking animations of some characters looks very rigid and goofy. Maim and Cho'gall to name two.

@@OutsiderXE The most obvious one was the decision to keep Gul'dan alive. Doomhammer literally describes Gul'dan as an untrustworthy traitor in one sentence, and in the next one, he is like, 'Of course, Gul'dan, I will let you free to create even bigger monstrosities. And don't forget to take your subordinates with you while leaving. I was thinking to keep them captive to have at least some advantages against you, but that was 2 seconds ago. Now I completely trust you.'

Writing is oddly formal. These are orcs, not Victorian nobles. Everything else looks fantastic, though.
They're less formal further in the campaign, more like actual orcs.
