looking forward to running moralo with hlc, predator, bossk, dengar, IG-88D and fins or something, alongside IG-88B with ptl, ig-2000, mangler, engine Upgrade. something like this will be fun to play be able to dish out massive punishment with the bounty hunters together.
Awesome video as usual Pat. Always look forward to more Videos posted by you. This ship is amazing by the way. I thought the unique style of it was pretty damn awesome since I first saw it and it turns out its pretty powerful to boot. I am a pretty loyal Imperial player, but damn this makes me want to dabble in S&V big time. X-wing is just going from strength to strength with these releases.
It's not ugly, haha. Great review though. I've been using scum ships lately, mainly Y-wings to be a troll, but with this ship things are going to be interesting. I want to field two of these. But, I'm going to wait and see how this ship plays out after a bunch of games before i get another. Keep up the great reviews, i enjoy them.
I'm guessing that it's possible to upgrade the pup as a separate ship. I can think of a few sacrificial/brawler hounds tooth setups that would benefit from a replacement ship after its tank and disrupt role is ended by copious return fire. 2 core ships, plus micros swarm/support where the hounds to org is here to get in close and take down a key target (especially with an agility shread)
IMMentat The Nashtah Pup has no upgrade slots or point cost and can't be added to a squadron independently. It's tied directly to the Hound's Tooth title. It only enters the game when the Hound's Tooth is destroyed. It's a standard Z-95 with the pilot skill and ability of the Hound's Tooth pilot for the remainder of the match.
+Andrew Randolph - Man... it's gonna be a little while yet on the Raider vid. I am still waiting on internet hookup in my new house. So far the guy has missed two scheduled appointments :(
Great review as usual. I want to fly scum after seeing these reviews. But I'm gonna catch up on earlier waves I don't have and then get Most wanted. S&V have some dirty cards. They differently have their own rules. FF has done a great job with this faction.
+Spacefrisian - Right, because although there is nothing preventing you from taking 3 K4 Security Droids, anything beyond one is wasted points. The core rule allowing for ships to only ever have one target lock is still in effect.
hey hears a question that i didn't see can you add a modification to the Z-95 during ship building because all ships are allowed to take one. Is that also true with this ship?
Hmm... I don't have the cards and rules handy but I think the answer is no, because unlike the Attack Shuttle and VCX, the Nashtah Pup isn't a ship that gets included in your squad point build. It's an ability of the Hound's Tooth title, which is why the Nashtah Pup card has no pilot skill, point cost, or upgrade icons (not even the Z-95 standard missile slot). Although I believe they did rule in the FAQ that an Elite upgrade attached to the Hound's Tooth that changes pilot skill (like Veteran Instincts) transfers to Nashtah Pup.
As an avid scum player, when I saw this ship released I was like please let it be good. Not only is it good it possible the best ship released so far for the scum and villainy.
Hey Pat, I have a question... since Bossk is the only pilot of the YV-666 to possess an elitè talent, when he bail out with the nashtah pup, he keeps the talent? Since is the PILOT to bail out with the Z-95, I think that's obvious that the talent is kept... I found no answer to the question "who posses the talent " (if the ship or the pilot) but since only a few pilots has the talent, I conclude that it belongs to them, so IF IS the pilot to bail out of the ship, the talent is maintained. What do you think?
Do you think that this yv666 is a low budget ship? Classic xwing is 32 cost and has 3 hull and 2 shield Althought is more manouvarable i dont think is as good in point/ effectiveness
Martin Bührer lol I can see Bossk telling Fett about his ship talking it up to be a great war machine and as they round a corner, Fett lays eyes on a refrigerator on its back and Bossk hops in it making the sound effects of a ship taking off. lol :)
lyianx It does not. It comes with a Z-95 maneuver dial and the ship token and pilot card for the Nashtah Pup. I think they assume that Scum & Villainy players will have bought Most Wanted.
Douglas Bornhoeft Actually, the canon scale of the Hound's Tooth was changed. It's now about half the size as it was originally. I'm not sure if that was done specifically because of X-Wing, or for some other reason.
The Cardboard Dungeon Specifically, it's length was changed from 62 meters to 47 meters. Here's the link if you're interested: starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Hound%27s_Tooth/Canon. You can click between the Legends and Canon entries to see the changes.
That is actually pretty interesting. I wonder if it was Fantasy Flight who had the pushing power to make that change to the canon. It still does not make much sense however because it seems anyone would be hard pressed to fit the Nashtah Pup in there with it's smaller scale.
Douglas Bornhoeft I think there's a good chance that the scale got changed specifically for X-Wing. FFG obviously has some clout with Disney/Lucasfilm since they were allowed to design an entirely new ship into Star Wars Canon with the Imperial Raider. And for Scum & Villainy it's pretty obvious that one of their major goals is to get all of the well-known bounty hunters into the game. And Bossk is probably the second or third most well-loved bounty hunter. I'm not sure if IG-88 has more fans, but I'm pretty sure that Bossk rates higher than Zuckuss/4-LOM and Dengar. Anyway, I agree that the new scale makes the idea of docking a Z-95 inside the ship seem a bit... off. Oh well, it's a really cool gameplay mechanic so I'm okay with it.
+The Cardboard Dungeon I'd personally say Bossk is the #1 bounty hunter haha, but he is most likely number #3 in reality. And yes I think it's such an awesome game effect that it overshadows the scale issue. I just find it silly that the Eliot pilot talent does not transfer to the Nashtah pup. I understand it may be over powered in some cases but if you put the points in you should get what you pay for.
turns out the pup upgrade was not so good. lol. I mean it's not competetive, but in a casual game it might be okay, but there are probably better options for the cost, and you're kinda counting on the pup not just getting one shotted the turn it comes out. I think i would rather devote six points NOT getting destroyed instead of spitting out a headhunter if you get destroyed. Just my opinion.
+Sam Perry - Nashtah Pup just got a little better with the latest FAQ; they've ruled that Veteran Instincts and other upgrades that change pilot skill will transfer to the Pup after the Hound's Tooth is destroyed.
The Cardboard Dungeon see...I keep on thinking through it though, and it's kind of...meh. If it can't attack then it's basically just a fresh target. It's still just four hit points, most of the big guys will just take it out in two turns or less. Theoretically it can make up its point value, but I just don't know if it's worth it. The same with the Ghost's attack shuttle, I'm not sure how much success it will see.
Pat -- your X-Wing videos are ridiculously good -- you're making the game better for the rest of us!
+Adam Shaw Thanks so much!
I really like it. Looks like it has a good paint job, too.
I'd love to hear a bit more history of the ships with your expansive SW knowledge

Really looking forward to getting one of these on the table! Nice review
I know this is pretty stupid but I would love to see a Nashtah Pup expansion

Thank you. So much for your amazing videos. Now I know what I'm getting when my box gets here..the wait is killing me...
Nice camera work and I liked the card paring suggestions.
Awesome! happy to see these wave 7 reviews!
You could use the ion projector on captain oican for the imperial decimator
Oicunn is about to get a lot better in Second Editon :)

Now I just have to wait for The Wild Karde!
Degly Spiderfang YOOOOOOO you know how it is my man. Great great series.
Degly Spiderfang I also really want to the wild carde

shame but understandable, was hoping it would be modable at least, sort of an added surprise if you felt frisky.
Please do a Bosk build video. I check your channel everyday for you Imperial Raider video. Can't wait for the review.

Thanks mate, another great episode :)
Great video Pat !!!
IMTOYS Colectibles Thanks!
Bossk's ability is good because Ten Numb in the B-Wing can stop the critical, but Bossk's ability gets around that
the yv-666 is really powerful
I wonder if you can have 3 K4 security droids on Latzz and reduce agility by 3 that way....guess i cant use it that way am i right?
+Spacefrisian - Right, because although there is nothing preventing you from taking 3 K4 Security Droids, anything beyond one is wasted points. The core rule allowing for ships to only ever have one target lock is still in effect.
I want one!
Must have, will buy... potentially 2 :p

this thing is a Beast

Matteo Bologna No, none of the upgrades carry over to the Nashtah Pup; only the pilot skill and ability.
The Cardboard Dungeon hmm... ok, thanks

Althought is more manouvarable i dont think is as good in point/ effectiveness
Brilliant!
Wow, Bossk is like token soup for missing. AWESOME CARD!
brent schlaeppi And, as I pointed out, he's especially amazing when paired with Gunner.
"How dare you disrespect Moralo Eval"
I can't believe you think the YV-666 is ugly. lol :)
+tetsuoswrath - Ha ha ha so ugly!
The Cardboard Dungeon It's like the Winnebago ship from Spaceballs though? lol :)
+tetsuoswrath It's not ugly. A refridgerator can't be ugly.
Martin Bührer lol I can see Bossk telling Fett about his ship talking it up to be a great war machine and as they round a corner, Fett lays eyes on a refrigerator on its back and Bossk hops in it making the sound effects of a ship taking off. lol :)
+The Cardboard Dungeon The Majestic space Stapler will not accept this form of disrespect!
Does this ship come with a z95 mini?
lyianx It does not. It comes with a Z-95 maneuver dial and the ship token and pilot card for the Nashtah Pup. I think they assume that Scum & Villainy players will have bought Most Wanted.
Or have a base z95 from rebel collection.
IMMentat I'm planning to paint one of my Scum Z-95s up in Nashtah Pup colors. I might do the other one up like N.Dru Suhlak's ship.
Dose it come with the deployable ship
+Druien Mattoon No, you need your own Z-95 .
k thank you
Im just mad because they kept saying the ship was to scale but it is no way is even close to being the right size
Douglas Bornhoeft Actually, the canon scale of the Hound's Tooth was changed. It's now about half the size as it was originally. I'm not sure if that was done specifically because of X-Wing, or for some other reason.
