Hey there, glad I could help! When you opened origin did it say “download” on the Sims 4? When this happens, it’s just because the game doesn’t recognize the App downloaded on the USB. So you may have to close Origin and then locate the Sims 4 on your USB and open the game from there. Then, when it opens origin, it should say “Play.” If it doesn’t, just play around with it a bit until it recognizes the game is downloaded.
However, you’ll probably still have to verify the app so it will take some time for it to verify (which may also say “downloading” or “repairing” or “updating”. But you shouldn’t have to completely reinstall the game. Origin just gets confused cause it’s not technically built to recognize an external game. Hope this helps :)

Are you downloading the game through origin? Also, how is your internet connection?

Even though it’s the EA App, there is still a game library location so it’s the same process as it would have been on origin. Have you tried following these steps on the EA App?
