  • War films truly are an incredible part of cinema. From the romantic subplots of 'Casablanca' to the psychological torture of 'Come and See', the action spectacle of 'Tora! Tora! Tora!' to the gritty realism of 'Saving Private Ryan'. The genre serves as a device to encapsulate our history, a reminder of the horrors of the past and a way to discourage us from allowing it to happen again. A peek into the cinematic visions of the Napoleonic Wars, World War II, Vietnam, Iraq and much more, this 4-minute video takes a look at 100 of our favourite war films with selections from Australia, Belarus, Bosnia, Canada, China, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Serbia, South Korea, United Kingdom, and United States.
A compiled list of the films featured in the video can be found here on MUBI and Letterboxd:

Whilst we're aware that a few of you may ask where certain films are or why they've been omitted, please bear in mind this video is a look at some of OUR personal favourite films of the genre. In a genre that's provided us with thousands of incredible films, we wish we could have expanded more upon this video, however, we found 100 films to be just enough for the video we had in mind.
We hope you enjoy watching this as much as we did making it. Thank you.

Hands down the best montage I have ever seen. I agree with Jerry McVean's comment that I appreciated the wide range of movies represented in this video as well. Thank you so much for making it. :)
