Do you mean the HT-A9 surround sound system? I have not, yet. I keep bugging my Sony contact to send me a review unit, but they’re still so popular. Hopefully sooner than later I’ll finally get to review it.

Hey ealan, does external amp increase volume? Over the volume achieved by avrs amplification.
Well, yes and no. The improved channel separation introduced when using external amps allows you to hear certain elements with more clarity, like dialog, for example. So I’ve noticed I didn’t need to turn it up as loud. But I believe the only time there is a voltage increase is when you’re dealing with the difference between RCA and XLR cables (with XLR outputting slightly higher voltages)
