My uncle has Parkinson’s, and if it wasn’t for the Michael J. Fox foundation, the medication that he is on would have cost him $1000.00 a month, but he gets it for free. Mike is an amazing person with a kind heart and soul. I wish I could thank him in person for all that he has done to help others with this disease to be able to afford the medications that they need. My heart still goes out to him, for this disease is not a walk in the park.
But has he helped you? I ask because trillions has been donated for cancer. So far only help of anything I've discovered is auric healing, and vitamin therapy and eating mostly raw vegan. Plus emotional healing from past.
Awesome to see a reunion between these two, it’s been 30 years since they were both in Doc Hollywood! Michael J Fox is a true class act whom we all admire so much!
I absolutely love this, I’m an 80s kid, Michael J Fox is and always will be one of my heroes. Shame Variety cut it off at the end, would like to see the whole thing. I love Woody too, such a lovely friendship. ❤
I felt the same, why did they cut it off!? Would have been nice to see this until the end. But at least we were able to see Woody's great introduction of Michael and then to see Michael, it's beautiful that he's still out there fighting. Love this guy; he's so deserving of this award. (from Sandi)
This man IS my childhood, In 1985 when back to the future hit the ONE theatre in our little town some friends and I got together to keep that movie in the theatre. As long as people kept going the theatre would keep the movie playing. I saw that movie 36 times that summer and I don't regret a single minute.
Love Michael J Fox and even if it's still so hard to see him shaking, he still has such a great wit and humor about him. His family is beautiful. What he's done with his Parkinson's diagnosis and the foundation, are great. And of course, he's a fellow Canadian and we just don't give in or give up. Cheers to you Michael, love you. Keep the fight going. (From Sandi)
80s kid, and MJF has always been, and remains, a legend to me. The guy has a better personality while fighting Parkinsons' than most fully healthy people.
MJF has always been a kind man and brought much joy to many in his movies. I met(sat next to ) him at a Dire Straights concert and he was very gracious. I worked with Woody on Cheers long time ago , it was a great gig.
I was a young newlywed when MJF started on Family Ties. Hubby and I were AMAAAAZED at his genius in that show. We still are. He’s a beautiful soul and the world is so much better because of him. 💝 And the fact that he’s Canadian….even better. ;)
As an 80s kid who understands what '80s famous' means, I want to thank Michael J Fox for the wonderful memories of his work and the work of his great collaborators, like Robert Zemeckis. Over here in Ireland the 80s was a tough enough time for working people and those who couldn't find work, but the light and fun that MJF brought into our homes every week on Family Ties and onto the big screen on a Saturday afternoon, gave such great joy and hope. He will live forever.
Woody is a natural. You cannot not love him. An amazing actor with an amazing heart. Wonderful speech for Michael J. Fox. Micheal had tattooed 3 good generations in their brains. Kids watched his movies like old people watched his movies. Both are great men. ❤❤❤
Ah man it's tough seeing him like this. Michael J. Fox was an idol of mine as a kid with the Back to the Future movies and he was fantastic in my favorite sitcom of all time Spin City. Amazing job he's done for the research in Parkinson's. Well done, Michael
Mr. Harrelson, you're as good at this speech as you can be. Very touching speech. And of course, Mr. Fox is an amazing person. With love and respect from Ukraine.
I cannot believe it was cut short in this video. I adore both Woody Harrelson and Michael J Fox and was intently listening to Michael's speech.... and it was CUT OFF?! Glad I got to see as much of it as I did though.
Woody in Cheers was next level funny. But Michael truly shone brightly in the 80s and tonight. Can't believe the bravery and strength of this man all these years. God keep him.❤
The word hero is thrown around far too easily these days and in many ways has become cheapened. This man is a shining example of what a hero actually is…
You’re throwing around the term “Hero” frivolously. No one in Hollywood is a hero. They are entertainers / jesters who get paid very well to act and sing and dance and tell jokes.
Sorry Variety cut off his speech but loved what I saw and heard. Much respect to the man I enjoyed watching over the years, from my favorite TV show to some good movies. Woody did an a wonderful speech.
He absolutely deserves this honor, he's such a truly good man. It's so wonderful to see that his humor, passion and outlook has remained positive for all these years.

I'm glad he was recognized. His actions, adlib and even risking his safety brought many laughter and helped people imagine. I'm certain he has inspired others and all of us need to push for a cure. Parkinson's always goes after the best we have.

That was a heartwarming tribute. MJ Fox is one amazing dude, from my limited perspective. What a human. What a spirt he portrays. As an aside - What a lucky ASL interpreter on stage there, to work such an assignment.
Michael has been through a lot since his diagnosis of parkinson's he is one my favorite stars from the eighties era. Good luck Michael and congratulations.
