Audio 101 - Gain Structure and Noise - Part 01

In this video, I hope to let you hear some examples of the noise floor when you have "good" gain structure (starting at the preamp) as opposed to "bad" gain structure when trying to set gain in a live-audio environment using the volume of the speaker as your measure of how much gain you need on your mic preamps.
I split this video into 2 parts, this is Part 1 and is more lecture and overall issues, ideas, thoughts, and criticisms of some issues I've seen in the live-audio field in the past 18 years.
