Skylar S I often wonder what happened to some of my childhood friends. Where are they today? Are they happy and successful? Are they even still alive? That's why I like FB, because a lot of times you are able to track childhood friends down and reconnect. But if they're not on FB, then it's very difficult to find anything out about them. I had a lot of really strong childhood friendships. I spent all of elementary, junior high (as it used to be called) and high school with the same group of kids, because we all lived in the same area in the same neighborhood. You literally grow up together. Then it becomes difficult when they start to move away or go away to college. 13 years together with the same kids. I guess that's why people attend their high school and college reunions...to reconnect. Good times and great memories from my childhood school days. ♥️
@@maryryanroman2399 I wish I spent more time making powerful memories instead of what I did that last 5 years. I'm now 17, but I have been thinking alot about life recently. Extraterrestrial Horse I'm glad my words really mean something to you. I had a great childhood, had lots of really good friends, and I miss those days a lot. And when you're growing up and enjoying your classmates, who are also your friends, you don't realise how important they end up being one day. You don't think about it during that time, and take it for granted. It's years later, after everyone has moved away, that you realise how valuable they are and how much you miss them. It's not common for someone as young as you to realise this at just 17 years old. You must be an old soul. All I can say is, value your friends and make a real effort to keep in touch after high school with the ones who really mean something to you. You are fortunate, because with today's technology, it's extremely easy now to keep in touch. Lastly, enjoy every minute of your youth, because it goes by mighty fast. I did listen to Ed Sheeran's song, " Castle on the Hill". You are right...it is exactly about those wonderful childhood moments we all end up missing dearly.

My 50th high school reunion is this year 🤔🤦♀️. 🤔🤔 I’m wondering if there are even a dozen of us left?🤦♀️🤔. There were over 500 in my graduating class
Yeaaah... I just turned 30 last week. The night before my birthday I sat in my car for 2 hours and just had flashbacks of the last 10 years of my life. Thinking about all the good, the bad, the ugly. It's been a rush.
It's so hard to think that after we graduate, half of our friends, we won't ever see again. All this work and strain we went through together, and we just lose it. Nothing but memories.
I haven't talked to a single friend from high school since the day after graduation. They all went off to SDSU or some other college out of state. It's really sad honestly, I hung out with them everyday for 4 years and now nothing
I really hate it when some people give a standing ovation only to fit in. It is something you do when unable to do anything else you stand up and give a round of applause from your heart.

I always come back to this song once in awhile, watching some of the teachers in the back tearing up, I know they were reminiscing their younger days too.
The lyrics tore straight to my core. I just graduated high school in 2020 and my graduation got pushed back multiple months to the point I wasn’t sure I would have it. We did in the end, and this video just encapsulates what high school is all about. You’re forced to be around people you wouldn’t normally be, but you learn from each other and grow together. There’s a special bond formed from being around each other every day at that age, and this man’s beautiful voice and lyrics portrayed that perfectly.
Yeah time really does fly. Today was my last day of senior year. It’s not what we really expected it to be but it still feels like an accomplishment. I really hope you and your fellow classmates have the BEST senior experience possible!
Yes sir, imagine him watching this video today in 2024. Man, life is too short to waste time living a single day with a frown. Smile brother, be happy like you were when you were 7 years old. Big hug Brazil. 😃
I dreamed of walking across the stage and getting my High School Diploma. Unfortunately life had different plans for me. I had to drop out in my junior year. About a year to a year and a half later I got my GED. But my scores weren’t high enough to get into the university I wanted to go to, so I have to go back to take it again. I’m 20 years old. My mother tells me to go to a community college for a year or two then try and transfer. The thing is if I do that then I’ll be setting the bar too low for my own expectations. I need to push myself to do better. I never had it easy growing up. All my friends would say differently(except for one or two I let in) because I put up a wall and made my life seem great to everyone else. I have ADHD. Most people think that ADHD is just an excuse or not real or whatever. But I can tell you that it’s a real struggle for me. I also have MDD and BD. I’ve struggled in school and growing up. No one really understood me, and that made everything worse. On top of the fact that one of my High School teachers said something that will stick with me forever. “You will most likely never amount to anything. You can try and try but some just aren’t meant to make it anywhere”. That was a real punch in the gut. But one thing I was so determined to achieve was getting my High School Diploma. I never planned on going to college. But some part of me feels empty, and that started when I dropped out. I had no choice but to drop out by the way. I kept changing schools in two different counties, I was homeless for months. The schools kept messing up my credits, some were “lost” and some just disappeared. So instead of repeating everything over and over I left. I hope that void I feel will be filled eventually. I plan I going to college to get my Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Don’t know what I’ll do after that, but I’ll figure it out one way or another. I just know that it’s going to be a nonstop struggle for me for the next 4-5 years. If I ever make it back here I want to tell my future self something. Life may suck right now, but look how far you have come. Do not give up. Keep your head up and focus on yourself. If anyone tries to tell you that you can’t make it don’t ignore them. Look them in the eyes and tell them everything you have gone through. Tell them the struggles you have faced along the way. Tell them how you didn’t quit, or feel sorry for yourself, tell them how you kept moving forward and how you’ve overcome every obstacle you hit. You can do this. Just believe in yourself.
Your version of 7 years old is so amazing!! What a great song and you have such a nice voice. Live every moment in joy and laughter - live goes by so quickly.
I think the professor on the right really felt it. The feeling of waiting for graduation but then when the time comes realising what they are leaving behind. And thinking how they should have lived it more and take everything from it - but you did. This will stay in memories, time will go by. But we need to enjoy the moment. These moments when we realise something is come to an end we also realise how we should have live the time and enjoy it the fullest. You will be great.
It's gonna be 20yrs since I graduated from high school on June 1st 2023 class of 2003. Life does go by so fast lost 3 friends and lost my mom and brother in 2011 and 2015. Enjoy life your family and friends cause it could end in a heart beat
It’s crazy how up until I graduated I made probably more than a thousand friends up until my senior year and 7 years later!! I don’t talk to ANY of them.
Destiny Dight i havent talked to a single person from my highschool after i went to college. Im at my second year now and still havent. Make 2 or 3 close friends now, i made a lot of friends but they were not really best friends more like mutual friends i had so i could fit in.
I remember when I was 7 I would listen to this song a lot and call it 'my song' because I was 7. It was my favorite and I loved it. When I turned 8 I stopped listening to it because 'it didn’t feel as special as it did before' since I wasn’t 7 years old anymore. Now I’m 13 and time sure passes by quickly! I’m sure I’ll keep realizing that when I’m older :3
Wow, well done. He has a beautiful voice. How truthful this song is. All you graduates don’t wish your life away. Enjoy yourselves as life goes by so fast. Good luck to you all.
When I was a freshmen in high school, it was awesome. I made a lot of great friends and a lot of people I call family now. During the last few months of that school year, we went into quarantine and we were all stuck doing zoom like the rest of the world. I haven’t seen some of my friends in over a year now. This school year we’re going to be going back on campus so I’m really excited. I’m now a junior and can’t wait to make more memories with the little time in high school I have left. A lot of people in high school resent going and look at it as a burden these days. But just remember that time is precious and those 4 years in high school go by very quickly. So just make the most of it and make good memories while you can because if you do, one day you will look back and remember all the people you met and all the good experiences you had. Sorry for writing a long paragraph lol but this student really reminded me of what is important in life. It’s the people around you and the experiences you make with those people that makes life special. Hope everyone enjoys their day.

Time does go by fast man
Harem Royality Me Too!! I just graduated yesterday
Anabelle Gonzales congrats!! I graduate tmw
Nice
what are you doing now? Another 3 years later
Right im almost a senior. I remember when I was in middle school. Goes by fast
I cry every time I hear this song
The lyrics tore straight to my core. I just graduated high school in 2020 and my graduation got pushed back multiple months to the point I wasn’t sure I would have it. We did in the end, and this video just encapsulates what high school is all about. You’re forced to be around people you wouldn’t normally be, but you learn from each other and grow together. There’s a special bond formed from being around each other every day at that age, and this man’s beautiful voice and lyrics portrayed that perfectly.
I love how i am listening to this 7 years later
I just realized ima be a senior this year. And just saw all the memories fly by like it was a gust of wind. Life is so short, make the best of it.
Yeah time really does fly. Today was my last day of senior year. It’s not what we really expected it to be but it still feels like an accomplishment. I really hope you and your fellow classmates have the BEST senior experience possible!
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I sang this at my graduation. Thank you JP Wallace for this lovely version of the song.
What a great job changing the lyrics to fit a graduation. Well done!!!! I love this song.
Beautiful, he changed some of the lyrics to make it original, good job.
he is great at singing
Evan The Gamer his name is Jon Paul wallace
Holy shit didn’t expect it to sound this good.
It's crazy watching all the older gentlemen sitting behind him fighting back tears cause they all felt these words at their ages
I know this was a while ago. But I hope wherever you are now, you still sing. Bless your soul.
I think he is a singer and song writer now. He has fb page and insta. JonPaul JP Wallace
This guy has guts😱 I would never have done that. This guy needs to be heard!
I hope Lukas graham sees this ❤️❤️
Yes sir, imagine him watching this video today in 2024. Man, life is too short to waste time living a single day with a frown. Smile brother, be happy like you were when you were 7 years old. Big hug Brazil. 😃
Keith a voice like that no limit to where it will take you. Amazing talent,!! God Bless you
I’m graduating in four days and this made me so emotional omg

@@EGaming2016 idk sometimes I think of it as sad cause sometimes I just wanna be a little kid
Ey
Are you alive?
Where's the tissues? I'm in tears. Great job! It does make you wonder where time goes. Always cherish those youthful years & friends in school.
Michelle Cox Yes!! And I do!!
Is anyone watching 7 years from now😮🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯💥
Standing ovation! Love his voice every time, no matter how many times I have watched it over the years!
THIS SONG MAKES ME EMOTIONAL EVERYTIME I WATCH IT
What a voice! Wow!!!
Your version of 7 years old is so amazing!! What a great song and you have such a nice voice. Live every moment in joy and laughter - live goes by so
quickly.
I'm not crying. You're crying😭😭
I was supposed to play this at my graduation this year. Oh fucking well. Rip
I was supposed to graduate today. Oh well life moves on right?
Jorge Fernandez I suppose man
I graduated 1 week ago at my bed that’s sucks
Wow. Why is this not played for every graduation? Amazing!!! I still have chills
Loved his rendition...and I'm so happy he got a standing ovation. 👏👏👏
Wow. He's an incredible singer. He's going to do great things in life.
I feel so happy for him that he had such a good high school experience. Mine was awful, 20 years ago almost.
Same, I absolutely hated high school
@@TheMajesticKnight mine I wasn’t having friends
Can we be friends if you don’t mind?
May 24 2021 The world lost a beautiful soul 🙏🏼🕊️🙏🏼
I think the professor on the right really felt it. The feeling of waiting for graduation but then when the time comes realising what they are leaving behind. And thinking how they should have lived it more and take everything from it - but you did. This will stay in memories, time will go by. But we need to enjoy the moment. These moments when we realise something is come to an end we also realise how we should have live the time and enjoy it the fullest. You will be great.
This is legit gold🤯🙌🏻
Protect my man at all costs❤🙏🏻
It's gonna be 20yrs since I graduated from high school on June 1st 2023 class of 2003. Life does go by so fast lost 3 friends and lost my mom and brother in 2011 and 2015. Enjoy life your family and friends cause it could end in a heart beat
It’s crazy how up until I graduated I made probably more than a thousand friends up until my senior year and 7 years later!! I don’t talk to ANY of them.
As a graduating senior for the 2023 school year and graduating early I can relate to this but this literally gave me chills I cried
When you look back at life it seems like it went so fast but when you look at the future it takes a long time to get there
Gabriel Douglas stg..I was just thinking on this the other day
The fact that this video is 7 years old
i remember watching this in middle school. now i’m a senior in high school about to graduate soon💔
Right man, time flies. I remember when I was in middle school. Elementary to. Now half way through junior year.
it was so good I stared to cry
This is so true it made me cry I only have two years left and it’s crazy that half the people we talk to we won’t take to once we graduate😭
Destiny Dight i havent talked to a single person from my highschool after i went to college. Im at my second year now and still havent. Make 2 or 3 close friends now, i made a lot of friends but they were not really best friends more like mutual friends i had so i could fit in.
Teachers HAD to have a choked up moment. Like wow. He achieved and i had no idea he could sing lol
WHY AM I CRYING IM NOT EVEN GRADUATED YET
Im gonna be a junior in august and i feel the same
It's free real estate his voice has power on us
IM FROM 2024
I remember when I was 7 I would listen to this song a lot and call it 'my song' because I was 7.
The fact that video was posted 7 years ago makes it even better
Wow, well done. He has a beautiful voice. How truthful this song is. All you graduates don’t wish your life away. Enjoy yourselves as life goes by so fast. Good luck to you all.
A memory he will never forget!! Hope everyone reading this you all have a great future ahead no matter how hard things are at the moment!!
The bald teacher in the background is so proud of his student it’s inspiring
I thought the same and the one next to that guy and the teachers in the back were tearing up
I know this is old, but this is my new favourite video, ever. Wish I was there to witness this!
Omg this is where my graduation was . Class of 2019 !!!
The lyrics really hits home hard… I can recall the mixture of emotions when I graduated myself…
Shedding tears while having goosebumps all over! Time flies at any age! Beautiful tribute to the parents too!
Listening this masterpiece in 2024
I mean ABSOLUTELY breath-taking! A beautiful way of "giving his speech". Wishing our young people much success. ❤️
I know I cannot be the only proud parent crying over this AMAZING version in 2023!
I really love this version 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I graduate tomorrow, made me shed a couple tears 🥲
Wish I can live my childhood all over again
