    Wood is kinda like our skin in that it’s capable of healing. That ability is thanks to the structural design of lignin--a polymer that holds cellulose fibers together.

      Great, does that mean our skin can spontaneously combust also.?

    This is such an incredibly entertaining yet information packed video. Truly appreciate the time, hard work in putting this together. Am learning chemistry now and this just made so many topics extremely clear in a single swoop. Loving it! Watching it for the 5th time. Thanks!

    06:25 Also, cellophane can also (yes, I love the word also) be used to stop an attacker, just like when Superman threw his cellophane S at Non and the latter dropped on the floor. It was a minor inconvenience, that I can tell, but being wrapped by a cellophane and looking like a left over shawarma on the floor for a few seconds is kinda humiliating and will surely make any attacker think twice.

    Doesn’t microcrystalline cellulose (in many supplements) cause irreversible cell damage by cutting into, entering and exiting cells indefinitely, causing inflammation, creating a protein which leads to Alzheimer’s?

    All my life I thought (assumed) that it was the full OH group what was replaced by the NO2 to form nitrocellulose. Misconception dispelled.

    Great video, cellulose is truly a fascinating biopolymer.
    As a suggestion the channel should consider use the metric system as standar. Science is based on standar measure units. For example, no one can study or publish the lengths of cellulose chains or cellulose nanocristals in feet or inches, it just don't make sense.

    379 feet... dafuq is that? 😅 I beg you, at least in a science channel, provide a way for the rest of the world to understand. Only Muricans understand your freedom-units. Please at least write it down also in basically-all-planet-earth-units. Pleeeeeez 🥰

    What is up with all the celsius crap. Are you not an American? If you are not, do you care about American viewers? To me it just seems very rude and lazy on your part.

      We apologize. We accidentally hired a Canadian. We never noticed the accent, and now that it's come out, that employee has been fired. We offered them severance, but gave directions for how to get it in only Imperial units, so they're probably screwed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this most difficult time. We hope to regain your trust over the coming months and years, and are confident we can do so by the beginning of April (01/04/2021). Cheers, mate.

      @@ACSReactions Very funny. I like that. Oh by the way, the United States uses customary units not imperial units. Canadians always get that wrong. LOL

      Any person uses the metric system, and temperature measurement in Celsius. the imperial system is outdated, the empire is no more, it's time to move from the Middle Ages to the new world, and not look for "your own personal" system with which everyone must for some reason reckon ..

    • @monkeyman2174
      @monkeyman2174 2 года назад +1

      @@hibahprice6887 Fahrenheit is more accurate. do you think Bar measurement is good? Oh how you must be so confused about measurement. Yes I agree you have to be smarter to use the United States customary system than the metric.
