Coil-boy chop shop - looking well awesome, going to be a great finished product. Loving the episodes and editing style, no fancy stuff and all done is a good Aussie shed.
Appreciate it mate, I honestly am not that savvy with fabrication but just yeah talked it all through with a mate that’s a fabby and went with the flow thanks heaps 🤙🏻
Very interesting seeing how it's all done! You obviously know what you're doing 😜 Good onya for having the balls to have a go 👍 Watching out for updates 👌
Old mate should have some glasses on when tacking and holding things. The spatter can burn through your eye lids just closing them. Great work mate, clever buggers.
Dunno, how long does it take to kick in? I’ll sing out if I wind up in hospital, I think the material is called Zinc Eneal? Maybe the wrong spelling but something like that, not Zinc Allume
@@timmyhasheart Zinc Allume is zinc coated allluminium. I don't know if what you are using is called the same here but in NZ it was called electro galv. It is much nicer to weld than galv sheet and offers good rust protection over normal panel steel. The zinc does add a bit of heat as it burns off but nothing too serious. It is the galv that causes a lot of the sparks when you are welding. You are not doing enough welding to suffer from zinc poisoning but if you are doing lots of galv pipe welding then it can be an issue. Symptoms are you will feel nauseous and unwell. Quickly run a flappy disk along the edge to take some of the surface electro galv off and it will weld a bit nicer. Used to find 0.8 wire was best. Welder sounds nice.👍
Ahh so if I need anything more than 4 metres I’ll go to an actual steel yard that sells lengths. But if I only need a metre or two I’ll go to nubco or Bunnings yeah, it’s so much more expensive though.
75 series cruiser ute back windows are not to big and ugly like some ute chops use and can always get a replacement on hand and they are just a std push in seal type.
looking super tidy. keen to hear about the engineering process, something the big shows don’t talk about!!
Yeah well I’ll involve it in the vids 👌🏻

I'm glad I'm not the only one using bush ppe
Ahaha safety first mate.
Thought that myself. Loved the use of the sleeve as a welding glove.
*engages safety squints*
@@JG-sp1xt if you can't see the hazard, the hazard can't see you
Enjoyed the video.
Really liked seeing the work and planning as well as the intelligence that went into fabricating the parts

Looks awesome dude - another guy did similar and used a 79 series rear window - dunno if sorts what you need
Yeah I was gonna go down the route of using an existing rear window but in the end just made a custom shape to get made up 👌🏻
Good onya mate for giving the chop a crack. Just wondering if welding on the zink sheet is burning it producing the gass that gives u zink poising?

Drew’s the type of mate I wish I had lol
I’m glad someone brought it up tbh, he’s a fucking unit and we’ve done a lot of work together on both mine & his cars. Super lucky man 👌🏻
@@timmyhasheart good to hear man it’s hard to find someone like him btw man good job with the rig
Very neat job so far 👌
Thanks mate 🫡
This is rad. Where did ya buy the steel? Nubco?
Ahh so if I need anything more than 4 metres I’ll go to an actual steel yard that sells lengths. But if I only need a metre or two I’ll go to nubco or Bunnings yeah, it’s so much more expensive though.
Hey mate not far off doing my own chop how many metres of each piece of steel did you use roughly
Haha man no idea, bitta 50x50, bitta 100x50, bitta 25x50, bitta zinc sheet, not including the tray. just grab some and start cutting 🤙🏻
Loving the build, even down to the measurements you’ve used and taken.
But fuck vic bro, might just cut my shit in half! 😂
Cheers mate 🙏
Can't wait 👌
Same 🫣 wish I could snap my fingers and it’s all done haha
Awesome job so far mate. By chance, did you happen to weigh it before hand to do a comparison?
Na I didn’t, it’s a good idea though I should have done..
Hindsight is a wonderful thing aye 😂 you wouldn’t happen to be from the north west coast of Tassie would you?
Na dude, I am from Tassie but from Launceston
Ah right oh. Pretty sure I’ve seen you at Bellingham. And I think I’ve seen your old navara up this way is why I was asking
Yeah it sold to a fella up there
Looking gooood...
Cheers! 🫶🏻
