Actually, caliber matters a lot to an assasin... Just not in the way you might think.
The majority of unsolved gun homicides were committed by .22LR pistols, about the smallest round that can reasonably kill a human. Supressed, on, for example, a Ruger Mk IV, it is almost completely silent. A barrel shorter than 5 inches will also subsonic standard .22LR ammo, making it even quieter. When fired into the back of the skull, the entry wound splatters almost no blood (which you absolutely do not want on yourself as it places you at the scene of the crime), and, the bullet is unlikely to over penetrate through the other end of the skull (especially if you use a hollowpoint or expanding round of some kind), ensuring only the one tiny wound channel is left behind to see from the outside of the body. No noise, no mess, no extra splatter, no pool of brain matter blown out by some big st@pid .44 magnum or whatever, no extra damage to be super loud and obvious to anyone else in the home or building. Literally, a loved one could walk up on the scene of the crime the nect day, and initially, not even notice theyre dead. So yeah, as far as actual assasinations go, smaller caliber is generally better. Not just for concealability (the Mk IV is pretty big for example), but more importantly, for low noise and minimizing evidence left behind.

There's a band my dad told me about before he died called Ten Years After. Their most famous song is I'd Love To Change The World, they're a band from the 1960s. And it's really good especially if you play guitar and want to learn a new riff that sounds deep and introspective. Do recommend if you like 60s music such as House Of The Rising Sun (the version by The Animals).

@@gran.kahuna it actually tends to be the exact opposite. two of the biggest things to consider when designing a cartridge are the weight (correlates with size) of the projectile and the powder charge. 5.56 has a really tiny projectile and a ton of powder to make it go super fast, and that makes it really loud, especially since it absolutely has to break the sound barrier to be more effective than a 22. something like 7.62x39 on the other hand, has a significantly bigger projectile, and therefore it can have a similar amount of power despite moving more slowly, allowing it to be shot suppressed without a sonic boom. if a 1mm cartridge was to somehow be effective, it would have to be really loud.

Hey heads up, water injected into the bloodstream can be fatal. Air injected into your bloodstream can basically make you have a stroke. Both are viable, so a suggestion for a middle ground would be a water pump that also pumps air

(For those wondering water can kill, 'Normal' saline is salt + water mixed to the ratio that is very similar to the human body. If you inject too much water by itself, the solution is too "hypotonic", water will rush into the cell to try to equalize and cause the cell to explode)

None of that is a practical weapon. It's really hard to find a vein with an umbrella. Injecting water or air in muscle is unpleasant but not deadly.
