Just wanted to thank you for your Rockabilly DVD i purchased from you a while back, it's enough homework to keep me busy for quite a while! Cheers from the UK...!
Thanks for the lesson, Damian! It's a great how-to and your words of encouragement are inspiring. Damian's quote "Life isn't about being the best. Life is about being better than you were yesterday" is such an important message for anyone, and is particularly useful for anyone getting started playing guitar. When I was younger, I wasted so much time trying to be a great player rather than moving forward and being happy with what I could do instead of dwelling on what I couldn't. If you're ever feeling that way, be sure to cut yourself some slack. Playing guitar is supposed to be fun. So dammit, have some fun! Join a band. Play out. Try your hand at recording. Odds are you've got a mini-studio at your disposal right there on your phone (or it's a quick download away). It doesn't matter if anyone else likes it. As long as you enjoy it, that's all that matters!
Hey you there with an italian surname ! ;-)) you are really, really amazing , you spread your wisdom with your guitar and first of all you spread joy to the whole world ... I learned so much from your precious lessons , wanna be thankful to you for this great job that you're sharing ...God bless you ! Ciao from Rome - Italy
Hahaha I eared this one years ago as a young man and I was note for note spot on not bragging I'm a borderline decent guitar player but I've always had a damn good ear love setzers version of this song I played it for my Dad who's damn near 80 and also a musician and was quite blown away that his son who grew up listening to alternative, numetal, and gangsta rap would pull this old gem out of his repertoire
I like you DB, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all your hard work this past year, and best wishes to you and yours from me and mine. Pete over the pond🎅
Hi Damian Another fantastic lesson, many thanks. Would you consider doing a series of video lessons on different Rockabilly sounds and how we might replicate them at home. E.g. Scotty Moore, Rev Horton Heath, Gene Vincent, Brian Setzer and of course Blue Flame Combo, all sound totally different but all still Rockabilly.
I learned this, and forgot it, thanks for putting it up so i could refresh my memory on such a cool solo! Any chance of you showing us the crying waiting hoping solo from Marshall Crenshaw’s version? Thanks.
Can you do a video on the intro chords at the begging of the video? Or what's the name of that song or chords? I've heard Brian Setzer play something similar. Just found your channel right now as I was looking up a Brian Setzer cover and I checked out some of your vids! Subscribed! Keep up the good work man 😎👍
I hate to say I'd never heard of the song until this video tutorial. But man, oh man! I FRIGGIN LOVE THIS TUNE NOW!
Glad the lesson turned you onto a song you like now. Cheers & keep on rockin' my friend :)
