This video just helped me out a ton! Crazy 2 years later and you still got people who need this information! Im stoked! Had to hit that subscribe after that!🔥🔥🔥
this video is so helpful I'm currently working on my biggest GarageBand project ever and one of the reasons I cant get it done is because of the software's lagginess.
Time Machine has been such a life saver for me when it comes to back ups for my mac. Had an older macbook pro that went pink screen on me followed by a refusal to boot without coloured stripes. Time Machine got all my stuff onto the newer refurbed mac I got. You never know when you're going to need it. I tend to backup at least once a week, depending if the work I've done was on the mac or on an external drive. If I'm doing a lot on the mac itself, it can be every day. I don't do a backup on automatic though. I close the backup hard drive and manually use Time Machine when I decide to.
This is good and all nice, but the problem is, I can't even use garage band at all because of how slow it is. it takes forever to actually open, and when it finally does, it just shows the beachball keeps spinning for ever. even I wait for an hour, it won't do anything. In fact, it won't even last that long because it quits itself.
Excellent as always. The "analyzer" tip alone is a godsend. Question: I use IK Multimedia's "TRacks". The mastering plugins. Sometimes I have the ONE plugin hanging off my master bus. Just to hear what stuff sounds like compressed & finalized somewhat. I usually leave it off when I'm recording. But I noticed I was getting tons of latency. Even if the plug-in was off. I had to REMOVE it from the master bus to stop the latency. Do many plug-ins work like that? Is this similar to the "analyzer' thing? Where it's running even if you're not using it? (T-Racks also has a "metering" plug-in I leave on to check levels. Should I remove this too to save ram?) Thanks in advance as always.
Please can you tell me how to configure/connect my RC505 so I can record it’s output in my DAW on my computer. I use GarageBand. Or is recording the RC505 on a computer impossible? Afterall it has a usb/audio interface connectivity!
Thank you so much. Turning off the mute and solo buttons solved the problem!

Thank you Lewin - you're the best!
Thank you!
turning off analyzer fucking saved it for me

Hey Lewin, this is great thanks man! Super helpful ~Ron
Thank you, it was very helpful!
Turning off the analyzers and removing the mute/solo options from the individual tracks when not needed were all new for me. I hope this helps!
GREAT! Thank you
VERY USEFUL. THANKS

Should I move all Garageband content to an external hard drive? If so, can you share how to do so without loosing needed Garageband stuff?
Look for a mixer as well

Desktop icons are NOT just like open windows. Just to make it clear...
Agreed, I definitely glossed over the topic, but you are right.
@@GaragebandandBeyond No worries - didn't mean to come off as a dick or anything :)
Do you recommend norton antivirus ?
Not really. It didn't seem to do what I wanted. I use Malwarebytes and Clean My Mac.
Is norton antivirus 360 any good?
