1) the extra counter weight was a great idea, and as u said -it will or has paid for it's self 2) as u get better on it, u can learn how to pat ur wet dirt down with ur bucket, especially if u have the wider bucket on at the time. try it, it will look like u ran a roller over the dirt.

Excavating 320 I owned a bobcat...bought it new...biggest piece of shit I owned! Switched to kubota. Twice the machine and not broke down all the time.
Very nice! I've ran an E42 for 1,000+ hours and that extra 500 LB would have helped in many situations. I've dug many 8' deep holes with the 36 inch bucket and she gets some wobble when it's full. Will be letting the equipment purchaser know about this here
Gonna have to get a tan on that white skin Kap. Think the camera was having some exposure issues lol. Joking aside weight on any machine makes it even better. You already know but watch your tail on the swing when you're in the barn

Can I ask a question, I notice that you have a mud, batter bucket that would be good for doing your batter or clean up loose dirt or loading out mud as it leaves no teeth marks. No good for solid digging, but what you are doing there it would be great plus it will look good. I notice that you do have a quick release bucket hitch so it would not be any trouble changing buckets.
Well.... Good call first of all, you are right.... (mostly). I DO have a ditch bucket, 52" smooth that is made for this. However... The bobcat was at the front of my driveway, since the dealer dropped it off after installing the weight.The ditch bucket is way back at my house, in sloppy, clay slime. So I decided to just 'work my way back' if you will with the 2' bucket that was on there just to test it out. Its a mile from the beginning of the drive back to where the ditch bucket is. I could have grabbed it with the tractor and brought it out, but didn't want to waste that much time. In the future I will work over that ditch with the right bucket, but that's why i didn't this time. Good eye :)
Kapper, Thanks for the video. Do you have any information on the bolt size, length, and thread pitch that was used for the counterweight? I can't find anything online that describes the bolts used to anchor the counterweight. Thanks again for the video.
Darren Lehman I'd still say a tractor with a loader. these days a skid steer can do almost as much as a tractor except that they are more Awkward implements that you have to run from the front of the machine with hydraulic power instead of turning PTO like the tractor.
Darren Lehman and as far as implements go the skid steer hydraulic run implements are more expensive then tractor implements which you can find used everywhere
My sales order says "Long arm with enlarged counter weight M3212 r03 c02" But it doesn't have the add-on like yours, though I can see the outline of where it was and the threads were definitely used. Did yours have "enlarged counter weight" before adding this? Or did my dealer sell me something I didn't get? Thanks for the videos!
ootsam yes, they build the enlarged counterweight on the machine. that's what mine had too from factory. this is an 'add on' counterweight. you're good because they build them according to which boom you have.

hay kapper was just watching vid of ya trenching drive gully, if you can get the frame were machine is just lifting on backside,take ah look at the top ram that swings bucket under, see it bowing, ive seen them bend and start leaking or just fail. remember every action has a reaction pray a line blows before ram bends😧
Time will tell my friend.. They build this machine to do this kind of stuff, so I'm not all that concerned.. That thing is designed with that much power with welds, weight and rams that should accommodate it. Those rams are BIG, and the machine is STOUT with Heavy steel and welds... Much more so than any tractor I've ever seen. Of course I won't try to damage it on purpose, but I do need to know my limitations on it.
the further out the ram is out of cylinder, the less strenght the ram has, and will start to bow and open door to ram failure, it can start to damage the seals on inside mounted to base of ram,,if clyinder of ram bends or gets distorted ram wont slide smoothly iether, be carefull.!!!!!!
It sounds like you're saying that the excavator is not a tractor. I think it meets most if not all the criteria for being a tractor. Perhaps under the sub-category industrial tractor for doing industrial/commercial work. The interior of some common tractors is more like driving a luxury car with a very comfortable air ride seat and complete climate controls along with full automotive style stereo & CD player with backup camera, etc, etc. On the other hand if you take a regular tractor and take the trailer off then it's no longer a tractor. And we know that's not true because tractors have a dedicated commercial or industrial purpose whether they pull a trailer or not. Just like excavators do. Besides, I have seen excavators pulling trailers as a big part of their job. Like Duckgirl 86 who never takes her trailer off. It is a permanent part of her excavator to help her move materials and attachments for her work. Many other people are now putting hitch receivers on the blade of their excavators so they can tow trailers as part of their job to be more efficient. In some cases they no longer need a dump truck or skip loader to move material on site. And with newer excavators having the extra stick steer ability to travel faster on job sites. Check out excavator trailer videos on RUclips.😀 😀 Also check out duckgirl 86. Her large dump trailer is fully remote control.
Man, I just can't see how towing stuff with an excavator can be useful at all! Only because they are sooooo slow!!! You can tow just about anything on a trailer with a good truck, at 10 times the speed of an excavator! Just my 2 cents, thanks.
@@kapperoutdoors You could drive the excavator to the work area, and then walk back to get the truck and trailer that the excavator won't fit on, and having to move 2 vehicles every so often. And if that work area is at the far end of the property, that could take a long time. Even if you could normaly put the excavator on the trailer, there wouldn't be enough room for all those tools, supplies, boulders, etc and the excavator. besides, you might need to use the excavator to unload the trailer at the other end. Then you're in for more walking if you had 2 vehicles there. You seriously need to see the videos under "excavator with trailer" or "Duckgirl 86". It's not about speed. It's about convenience. By the way, a lot of the new excavators travel just as fast as the skid loaders do. They have a new feature called stick steer. Cotton top recently put a hitch receiver on his Kabota. Now he has the advantage of being able to use that on the job site or to use it at his leisure moving trailers around his own yard It's a lot easier than using a pickup truck. I'll tell you. That's why almost all RV dealerships use a tractor to move RVs instead of a pickup truck around the sales lot or their storage lot. Although they do use a little farm tractor to move them. when you move trailers with a tractor you don't have to get out of the driver seat, you just pull up to it, flip the lever and the hitch goes up into the coupler and you take off. No need to worry about chains or latches or wires because you're only going a short distance on private land. But if you don't see an advantage in doing this then nobody can talk you into it.

you're supposed to work over the idlers since its a wider surface for the weight of the machine to sit on, rather than working over the drive motors. You're transferring all this force into the idler instead of the drive. Hes got it right
It is a good idea to have your blade down in front of you it keeps your machine from sliding I have a bobcat e50 with the counter weight and I have the blade in front I work for a cattle farm I tried the blade in back and almost slide into a pond
Then you must be inexperienced. It depends on the situation and the ground that you're digging in. If you're digging in hard ground you need it behind you. If you're trying to lift something heavy or pulling up tree roots or something then you need it in front of you. But don't listen to me. I just work with them every day.

Can't help there, I just had them install it at the local Bobcat dealer. But it did work very well!

Your running on tracks instead of tires. Your not sinking in or sliding. That's why the T-590 is better at digging than the tractor.
